Thanks for putting this together, I think people forget how important Yamaha Tenere is to motorcycle history. Equally how dominant they were in early Dakar and later the 90s Dakar racing.
T7 is already my dream bike but man! that build up when Eric is battling to get a proper tribute to the legend Olivier to finally create the Tenere 700! Uhhh goosebumps!
In 2020 I traded in my KTM 690 and bought a new tenere. Best thing I ever did, absolutely love it . Just finished a 3400km trip. Deserts, mountains. Humbed the whole way.
This was seriously a great video. I had a Yamaha 125 as a kid, still have the yellow side panel, and later on an XT500, and wish I had kept it. After having a BMW R9T 1200cc Scrambler, I'm buying a new Tenere 700 and getting back to my roots of riding both on and off-road.
I think i just found my long lost twin brother, with the exact same sense of humor and passion. Amazing!! Subscribed🤙 Riding a 2012 tenere 660z Saving up for a upgrade on the old ten.
Fantastic vid, I definitely learned something there. It's the bike I would take if heading off around the world. Presentation and editing is spot on. Keep up the good work.
@@UrgetoRide No problem sticking with your channel Al, genuinely think you will make a huge success of it, we are just playing at it. The honest answer about the two Yams is I love the look and the thought of owning the Tenere. If I was your age again that would be the bike for me. I would be planning dirt trails and thinking about taking 6 months out to ride around the world. (A friend has just done that on a Honda CB500X). As an overweight 56 year old now I would take the Tracer as I just think my future adventures remain on paved roads and that is the bike to have on tarmac.
Not only it was fun to watch, and I do like your style, but it is by far the most packed with background information about the Tenere, it's history and former and current development. I have owned the 89' XT600 (made for California market, so basically the European 43F model), added 22 l Acerbis to it, have had a blast for 10 years with it, sold it, got into motorcycle hibernation, then got myself two Teneres (1VJ and 3AJ), considered buying new Tenere 700 but recently went for used GS 1150 just for sake of two up touring (but I am working on my 3AJ to get it back to the roud though)...so yes, I know a bit about Teneres...and can confirm that you did not miss a bit in this great presentation. brilliant videos, glad the algorithm decided to play this. you know your good at something when i had no idea i wanted to learn the history of yamaha enduro bikes
Brilliant. Amazing piece of work. I happened to know a lot of it because, well because I was there when Yamaha hit the US and had an AT-1 that I raced in scrambles (that dirt thing before motocross) I bought the Super Tenere in 2011, rode it for 40,000 miles including up to Prudhoe Bay and back to Californian. @@UrgetoRide Pretty impresive, man! Best of luck
Well, my urge to sleep just turned to dust straight from Tenere.... I would like to see something about yours XSR, or MT09 or MT10 or SCR950 or... Damn Yamaha is making a lot of cool bikes :D
Well a couple days ago I would've said hell yeah they're the best, but after seeing what they have done to the MT09, I'm having Vietnam flashbacks 😂 Thanks for stopping by Roman, nice to see you again!
This is fantastic mate, thanks for making it.
My pleasure good sir
Dude! Sweet vid on the T7! Now go to Wikipedia and update the Teneré info there with everything you got here! Haha!
