Hi Max, thanks for your comment. I’m glad you enjoy the videos. If you ever come to visit drop me a message and i’ll recommend you some great historical sites to see. Thanks again!
Thank you for this excellent tour where some of my early ancestors called home. It is exactly the kind of thing that I would love to do with many other sites in East Anglia, Lincolnshire, and Yorkshire. As much as I feel that I have come to know about them, it just doesn't seem complete unless I can acquaint myself with the history of times and places they lived too. For now, TH-cam will have to do until lockdowns are lifted for travel. Wonder if local historical and genealogical societies, record offices, and/or local historians would be willing to contribute with interviews for such a project?
I think that you shouldn't treat the "Castle" in isolation. It was part of a fortified area that included the town of Acre. And as you pointed out the keep was never really completed.
I have a Hardback DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of MEDIEVAL LIFE. Discover medieval Europe - from life in a country manor to the streets of a developing town.
great video! Having never been to UK, your vids make me want to go and visit sites like this myself.
