"Beware the fury of a gentle man."
Patrick Rothfuss put it eloquently.
“Remember: there are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
I 'm far from a Kenny Rogers fan, but goddamn if this song doesn't hit all the right spots.
Kenny was GREAT. I'm not the biggest fan of his story songs, but he could sing a love song. "Through The Years" is one of the greatest performances by anyone ever.
I am a victime of the Syndrome wich is I don't fucking know WHY I like Kenny rogers songs
ErisRising all of Kenny Rogers songs tell stories. He was an amazing song writer!! I suggest listening to more. ❤️
The Gambler is another awesome song from Kenny Rodgers
we all must walk the tightrope...always in balance...only lessons to learn in life...they never end...Ty man for this
Every man has his limit. Confucius say don't piss off the nice guy. Lol
Liked your genuine reaction to this song. New subscriber 👍
😀😊✌️ I appreciate the sub. Stay safe.
Why are all these Kenny Rogers reaction videos in my feed I am laughing right now at this! He was huge when I was a kid , it’s funny to hear people newly discovering this guy....he is one of the best singers of all time so glad you gave him a listen! 👍🏻
Yay! you listened to it! Thanks from those of us who requested it. The Gambler is Kenny Rogers. And you're right is always important to let go of bottled up emotions in a positive way. ✌🏾️🇳🇿
There is an old saying, “Beware the fury of the patient man.”
I love this song. It's an emotional roller coaster and acknowledges the fact there are some things one cannot just let go by. Also, I think Kenny Rogers deserves a lot of credit for being smooth enough in his delivery that he put literal gang rape into the song and it just slides by.
This song always reminds me of my pops, he would play all these songs that had a message for me when I was a little kid. That was a good tangent you were on, speaking the truth. Peace to you and yours.
Love that song! Brings back some good memories of my family.
He wasn't letting loose on the Gatlin Brothers...He was making his stand. Much different. Hope you react to The Gambler it's another song about lessons in life. It's actually my favorite song by Kenny. Please use the music video.
This was my first time hanging out with you today and thank you for letting me do that! I enjoyed the time I spent here with you so I subscribed and left a like for you while I was here! I'm sorry I didn't catch your name if you said it so I didn't address you correctly, but I do want to wish you the best with your channel!
Appreciate the kind words I don’t really post often anymore but if you enjoy the videos I do have I’m glad. Names Felix ✌️
Thank you for the heart, I really appreciate it!
@@themightyfp Thank you for replying Felix! You should post more often, I found you to be very entertaining to watch reacting, your facial expressions said everything that needed to be said!
@debbers send some songs if you get a chance thanks again ✌️😊
Thank you for the heart first and foremost.
Well done ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💙
Kenny Rogers was the best vocal story teller. Over 63 yr career. Watch his amazing biography. He was raised in poverty. Became a huge mega star with The Gambler Album & song. A huge cross over artist Country, Pop, R & B, psychodelic, gospel music. He was loved by everyone Globally. He was a really good man. He helped organize Feed Africa We Are The World song & huge talent session event fundraiser with major talents of the 80's. His songs had weekly TV movies. He was in a variety of bands. He even had his own tv show.
I love Kenny Rogers !! He and Lionel Richie sing together!! Amazing!!
I just can't help myself, the whole attire with the Kenny Rogers song, im dead!😂😎😂😎I still go back & watch that damn Islands in the Stream!!! 😂😂😂 Much luv from Iowa, man!
Heather Jackson 😀
You did real good on your reaction . Speak what u feel
Hey man great stuff!! so much truth about the need to exercise aggressions out, the screaming and other things.
You got another subscriber here 👍 keep on keeping on -
Fear the wrath of a patient man
What a great story. Great reaction vid.
you couldda heard a pin drop when Tommy stopped and locked the door. might be the best lyric in music.
Screaming along with Rob Halford is my greatest stress relief ever! Let all of it out. Dreamer Deceiver and Victim of Changes are my favorites.
Hey man. I'm not a Kenny Rogers fan, but I do like some of his music and this is a great song. Check out a couple others by him:
The Gambler
Love Will Turn You Around
Why aren't you a Kenny Rogers fan. One of the greatest of all time.
Love will turn you around hits a spot. Loved that song since I heard it on Six Pack
Dude, you gotta react to Kenny's best song, "Lady" written by his long time best friend, Lionel Ritchie.
Never confuse not wanting to fight with not being able to.
Thank you by the way, I appreciate you honesty and you are entertaining.
Shawn Lovering I appreciate your time means a lot ✌️
I remember this song as a 11 year old, I hated country, at that time I was all about disco, before discovering hard rock and then Rap. However this song, and a few other "story" songs caught my attention. This as well as "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitgerald", is great, "The Night Chicago Died", by Paper Lace... I was 10 and it was cool to me then... "Piano Man", by Billy Joel still speaks to me if I listen to it now.
It's harder to walk away and turn the other cheek. These circumstances warranted an was kicking beat down.
Great reaction and GOOD advice!
I've known this song darn near my whole life, but haven't heard it in YEARS (except for another reactor). It's so different listening as an adult than a kid. I almost cried.
Still one of my favorite of his songs Great story telling
I am loving getting to see a few of your reactions to songs I grew up with and loved. Thanks for letting me fall in love with them again.
pleasure is all mine. Peace.
@@themightyfp THIS is the Kenny Rogers song that is a must listen-to. 🙏🤟 th-cam.com/video/ZYRfUoR9Q4Y/w-d-xo.html
respect for the honesty. More need to recognize that walking away from "Stupid" doesn't mean weakness. RIP Kenny.
Loved this and your comments💞💞💞
Due to a long story, I had this on a 4cd set of random songs that I listened over and over and over
Ruby is one of his Early songs he performed with The First Edition. Before his Solo Career. Still one of my Favorites RIP🙏
❤
think past the moment...perfect
Good analysis.Like your honesty. Cheers
Not much of a country fan but you’ve got to give it to old Kenny...he writes a catchy tune. The Gambler is worth checking out.
“The Gambler” is my favourite Kenny Rogers song. There’s also a cool version of “Lady” that he sang with Lionel Richie. Or you could do a Lucille-off - both Kenny Rogers and Little Richard did songs called “Lucille.” Both are quite different.
I love that but i loved him by himself on the song .
@@rebeccalitchfield6698 I think it's better when he sings it alone, too. I love the video where he's wearing the light colored suit and singing it "live". He had a stronger voice, then. Very handsome, too!
I cry every time
Good reaction. This song is a bit of an outlier on my playlist, but I've always held it in high regard.
Great reaction. Crying doesn't usually make me feel better so I just don't do it ever anymore but I totally agree that letting out a good scream/yell really helps sometimes.
😃 ✌️
Bro you are Hilarious. Now im hungry for some chicken
check out the gambler by Kenny rogers
Love this tune, great reaction too! Nothing like an old country and western song about good old C&W topics: rape, repression and revenge!
Great song
Great video, i grew up with this
& other Kenny Rogers stuff
May i suggest that you listen to the entire Gambler Album.?
This song is on it, but there's one specific song that i listened to when i was just a kid & it's actually the first song that brought tears to my eyes
The title of the song is
(King Of Oak Street)
It's a slower sad jam, but the lyrics & story is meaningful & ends in a bitter sweet way..
Try it out, i believe you won't be disappointed
Thank you for taking me back in time of goid memories, much respects to ya..
Jason
Just wanted to say that you were right. Lol. The late Kenny Rogers did own several chicken restaurants. Who knew😁
Loved that!
Wow...never heard this song before. Very good reaction!
RIP Kenny Rogers. 💔
Choose ya fights! 😎
Moral of this story: leave the quiet ones alone.
The only rule regarding violence is " don't be the aggressor " ... don't be a bully , but ,, don't be bullied !
Have the film on DVD, but haven't seen it yet.
Kenny Rogers was always good at the story songs. Give a listen to Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town. It's a song he recorded when he was with the First Edition along with Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In), 1969 and 1968 respectively.
Great shirt, sir.
You might ought to check out him and Sheena Easton doing a duet cover of Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight". Maybe listen to the original, then to the duet cover in the same video.
For a Keeny Rogers original song, check out "I Don't Call Him Daddy".
You will hear this song agian. Different lyrics, same message.
Pretty good, eh?
20 years of being called a coward, but it took an attack on someone else - sweetheart Becky - to make Tommy prove the county wrong!
Rueben James is an excellent (deep) song by Kenny Rogers. And if you want to reach back further when he sang in a rock group called 'The First Edition", the song 'Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Is In)' is a pretty good drug trippin' song. lol
Most everything else is standard country fare....
Great interpretation
Do his song . Lady . Lionel Ritchie wrote it for him . Make sure its the live one . They were the best of friends
Kenny Rogers is on The Big Lebowski soundtrack as a member of First Edition, with a sound that’s a million miles away from country. There’s a video of the band here th-cam.com/video/AULOC--qUOI/w-d-xo.html
👍👍👍👍👍
RIP Kenny Rogers.
Holy shit, I did not expect this to be such a deep track. Great pull, great analysis. Keep it up.
Also I believe you should listen to every song like 4 times at least, especially if it touchs you in anyway. Like the gym, you gotta keep it up, you will open up to the feeling more, if you kinda like it... It will amplifie, nobody is judging you man, listen for you. Thank you. I hate country but there are some songs I will defend. It is the 12 year old me asking you to understand. I know you know what I mean.
Kenny Rogers started out playing psychedelic rock before moving to country. Try Kenny Rogers and the First Edition - I just dropped in (to see what condition my condition was in) : If you've seen The Big Lebowski you'll know this song. If not, you should see it!
How ya been? You been to Rockaway or Coney this summer?
I’m good and I go to Jersey beaches haven’t been to an NY beach since 2008
“I can’t listen to this shit ever again”
😂😂😂
It is so hard to walk away. My wife once talked me out of it. Said you don't need to go to jail we have a baby at home. To this day I still want to beat their asses lol. I guess thats the difference of being responsible and not.
RIP KENNY!! 😭
RIP Kenny Rodgers
kenny's best song is just dropped in, kenny is the king of country duets though
Another good one from Kenny Rogers is Ruby (Don't Take Your Love to Town).
Go for Lucille!!! Kenny has great story songs or Ruby don’t take your love to town , The Gambler
I have thought for a long time if some other genre took this song they could bring it to a new generation.
You need to listen to Lady by Kenny Rogers. Wow...
He does a lot of what I call "anthology" songs about different time periods. Check out "The Last 10 Years"
He called them story songs.
Kenny and Lionel Ritchie both did a version of a song called Lady
Lionel Ritchie wrote "Lady". Kenny Roger's recorded it and had a huge hit.
I comment on the reaction because I always thought that's what the comments were for...commenting on what they said. If we want to react to the video we can set up our own site. That being said I think him calling viewers cowards and commenting on Kenny's physical appearance was completely inappropriate
You should check out Allysa Lies by Jason Michael Carroll official video and you can tell if it is the official video if it starts out this is based on a true story but watch it till the very end
Ha, my neighbors would call the cops.
Let me tell you what I told my two boys when they were growing up. Just turn and walk away when possible, fighting because someone called you a name is stupid. These days you can't hit someone where they might bleed, if they are bleeding and you more than likely bust your knuckle, if this person has HIV, guess what you just mixed his blood with yours on your knuckles. No matter who wins the fight the other wins the war just because you couldn't walk away!
Rest in Peace
Do ( Lady ) its love ❤ you can't listen yo kenny ever again ? Its your loss !
It's much harder to turn away from a fight. Good reaction. I hope this isn't a racist remark but Native Americans really react differently with alchohol. I had a friend, Native American a gentle giant when sober. He killed an off duty cop in a bar fight.
Rita Carroll I’ve met people of every race and they all acted different when inebriated 🥴 and I’m sure many people have killed under the influence. I don’t think what you said is racist just know what you said applies to humans not an individual or a certain group. ✌️
@@themightyfp Ididn;t want to any group out so I sincerely apologize. The Native Americans' I have met have been very honorable people, and I love them. I guess I was trying to give the young men who jumped in my car when I was sixteen held a knife to my throat, drove me out to Squaw Peak Park and gang raped me a pass. Maybe a defense mechanism that they were really good people who reacted badly to hard liquor. This is getting way to personal sorry and keep up the good work.
You should listen to Kenny Rogers what condition my condition was in
Their chicken pitas were the bomb.
What up bro . Hope all is well
Wes Weldon I’m good thanks for asking ✌️
In my personal experiences in life my opinion is its always the quietist, kindest, most patient people that can unleash unbelievable fury when those traits are pushed over the limit. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned? It doesn't have to be only a woman and it certainly does not have to apply to a personal relation ship. Unfortunately I've seen it up close as a third party. It scared the s..it out of me. I guess what im trying to say is don't fuck with other people, especially one you don't know. Personally I hope I never see that again. And that was 30 years ago.
If you like songs with a good message you have to listen to Montgomery Gentry's Something to be proud of
People are are starting trouble are often miserable people who are angry and often don’t even understand why. Their life is shit or something is missing. Also people at the bottom are looking to move up the social hierarchy like everyone else. But those at the bottom have nothing so they move up in the life they are in. So gangsters want to be the top gangster, fighters want to be the toughest, because it gets respect and perks in those circles of life minded people. But as soon as those types get their life together that realize how pathetic that way and that life is. Once you have something to lose you no longer have something to prove to people who don’t matter. I have seen many knockouts and give a few myself. Once you stop thinking like a angry bum and use your brain. You realize any one of those people could have went down wrong and died or you could have been caught by a punch you didn’t see and you go down wrong or they don’t stop when you are out. Lots of people are killed in fights every year! You have to have a reason to think about the risks and if one don’t get their shit together and build a life worth having be it career or family you love. You will take those risks out of ignorance. I know of world famous fighters who were
Legends on the street who avoided the clubs and built a bar in their house to avoid the BS. They had everything to lose and nothing to gain smashing no names and even the toughest will avoid that when they are no longer at the bottom and think differently!
I have had a few people recently try to start shit. I just tell them. I’m not catching a charge. If you are hell bent on fighting we can do it legal. I print up a waiver and set up a “sparring” match at my old gym in a cage. No concrete, no friends jumping in, etc. so we can fight safe. But often what happens is they don’t show up. Most people can fight at the moment when they are mad. To make that walk to a fight with out that anger giving you courage is not something many people can do. When they have to show up a couple days later and fight they are scared shitless!
dperry203 great point. 👍
There is a song called "Shout" by Tears For Fears which talks about primal scream therapy. Where you go someplace like on a hill or a mountain and scream out your frustrations and energy.
th-cam.com/video/Ye7FKc1JQe4/w-d-xo.html
Do "Lady" by Kenny Rogers. It was written by Lionel Richie and isn't Country.
Fought pro 8 years ago. I haven't fought since and tell him I ll almost run from one just don't catch me.
islands in the stream? was written by beegees!
We had a joke in the fifth grade when that song came out.
What do you call Dolly Parton in the bathtub?
Islands in the stream
