It didn't shut off the other times because of the temperature outside. They set the truck to only idle in low cold or high temperatures .I'm glad it worked for you. Feel free to share this with other drivers.
OMG dude.. I tried the method of putting the cruise control button on the matching the cancel button sometimes that would work sometimes it wouldn't this is a sure thing for a 2020 as well 860 thank you so much dude
Btw.. imo the Volvo truck looks more luxurious, and the seats are more comfortable but the Freightliner is a more sturdy truck and designed waaay more practical, easier to understand. The Freightliner also has an in cab 5th wheel release button, and as a female that is PURE GOLD!! And even if it didn't its super simple to pull the arm. Volvo you gotta go up and over or over and up thats heavy iron. I have to raise and prop my legs almost into a split under the trailer to get enough strength and resistance to pull the Volvo arm 😰 lol
@@aaron.sorenson you can't activate the switch unless your brakes are set and you're in neutral, out volvos all have the same in cab 5th wheel release switch

Nope did not work. My company has their 21 volvo 860 set up where it can not be stopped. Followed exactly what you said and it only delays the shutdown for 5 minutes. Watched other videos with different steps and again no stopping it. Saw a video with same instructions as yours 2 months ago and same thing.
I got 2019 Volvo vnl 760 from Penske, but this didn’t work on my truck, I also saw another videos to cancel idle shutdown and all of them didn’t work:( maybe Penske don’t ever let to idle and they just removed all the functions to cancel idle shutdown

What you do not say is is that a one-time fixed or do you have to do that every time you start up or after you pump the brakes after moving the truck or do you have to do it again and again each time you reset the brakes or every time you stop
If you need it more than the one time yes you will have to do it over again. But I figured that would be obvious if your truck shut off again every night.
It doesnt work for me. My company set my idle alarm for only one second. The second that the "idle shutdown" screen comes on, my truck shuts off. So the hell with it!! I just put a box of bottled water on top of the accelerator pedal and its just enough weight to give it 10,000 RMPs, hahaha yup shes not shutting off anytime soon. #IDontCare #SurvivalMode.

That's Bullshit I have a 760 2019 if I am bob tailing I have to use the wheel chocks and release the tractor break or release if connected to trailer.
