That toboggan reminded me of one of my favorite childhood memories: we kids went out at night and my eldest brother rode down the long, curving road from the top of the hill. In my memory, the ride was endless, and I remember watching the moon through the snow covered trees for what seemed an eternity. It was magical, and I was only four, so I was spared the tedious journey back up the hill and rode on my brother's shoulders!

When I was a little girl in England a sheepskin hearth rug was delivered to our house so naturally I thought it was mine. We brought it with us and I still had it until last year when it just fell apart. My sister gave me a new sheepskin for my birthday and Alastair adores it. He AND the rug are brushed every morning!

Hello Kelly I like the kitchen collection. And the $2 pillow! Good tour of the Restore today. We still need a punch bowl to make our sorbet drinks. My mom had two cast iron skillets, she made some fantastic fried chicken from the skillets, and my aunt made delicious pineapple upside down cakes from a cast iron skillet.

Loved the story of your almost career choice in the Marines! lol! Both my uncle and cousin, was in the Marines and stationed at Paris Island, I believe in South Carolina, or in North Carolina.

I grew up with some great meals made in my grandmothers cast iron skillets too! 😋🍳Never tried to make a pineapple upside down cake in one. 🍍🍰 I bet it had a nice texture. LOVED laundry day at my grandmothers. 🧺👚👖👍Everything smelled so fresh and LOVED how the breeze blew the sheets. 💜Just dreamy!!! I still have the booklet the Marines gave me that day. 🫡📘Found it at moms in some old papers I had saved. My granny had a willow tree. And we were told to go get our own switch. But, we were told if we got an old rotten one. She would get one that wouldn't break. So, we didn't want two spankings so we always got a good limb off the tree.

I remember me and my brother having to go get a switch. 😧We found a huge tree limb that had fallen. 🌳We thought it would be funny to carry that limb inside for dad's amusement. 😁It took us both carrying it to get it in the door. 💪It worked. 🙌He laughed and we ended up off the hook!!😅

Hi Kelly gal! My Mamaw would hang our bras out on the back yard clothes line during the summer. Ugh, those braziers flapping in the wind would just embarrass me to no end!🫣🤭🙄😂 But they sure smelled fresh! I was taught how to cook on cast iron and still use it. I can't believe you wanted to join the Marines! I would have never made it in the military...hate being told what to do! But, I married a US Navy sailor, so I was a military wife.⚓ Those were hard years for sure. But, we made it through with God's help! Always so proud of my wonderful hubby! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do enjoy a cold Starbucks Green iced tea or regular iced tea in the summer as an occasional treat. Our daughter loves Starbucks coffees. Must be a thing for her generation...🤷 Thank you for another great walk thru. How's your dear mother doing? Tell her hello from me! When I was cleaning the wood desk that I had thrifted a few years ago, I discovered that the decorative spindles next to the cubbies inside, actually came out like a book from a shelf. I immediately thought of you Kelly. A place to hide my secret papers! 😄

The one thing that makes me happy is to see you with a video. You get me out even if I'm home. Love the smell of fresh laundry hanging outside. That was my job and you know with 8 children we all had multiple jobs to keep things in order. The coffee pot would be a nice vase. So many wonderful things and memories. I have 4 brothers and they all had matchbox cars. Thanks for the fun trip. ❤️❤️

My mom cooked with cast iron, and so did I. I had a cast iron omelette pan that I used until the coating wore off. I still have it-maybe I’ll look into getting it re-coated-I don’t even know if that’s possible. Some really great finds today! There was one piece that I wished would fit in my car! Oh well. My house is packed with furniture these days since my dad passed last year. Thanks so much for working so hard to make these videos! ❤

@@comegowithmetoday Thanks so much! Dad lived a good long life (he was 99 when he passed). He lived on his own up until the very end, and up to about three weeks before he passed he was still driving. It’s one of those mixed blessings, because as much as I miss him, it’s a relief not to have to worry about him being alone and driving (he refused to move in with anybody, even though we offered. That generation is very strong and independent). 💜
Loved the round tables! I have a $20 yard sale find I painted white in my kitchen. James Beard is a chef!😂😂😂 I use cast iron daily. Many buy furnishings new that will not last. Some of my favorite pieces were dirt cheap and I put in a little elbow grease! Love you, Kelly. And your little cat too! Rick really cleans Santa’s beard!!??

Lenoir is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Hickory is closed on Mondays and Morganton is open Monday through Saturday. Happy shopping! 🛍️💜🛒
Hello Kelly! I love the wall plaques, bench, green wicker set, pictures, French Provincial dresser/mirror and cream chair with flowers. I just get a big smile on my face to see all these wonderful treasures. The restore is so beautifully displayed with all these great vingettes. I get so many great ideas on "how to" arrange things in my house.😃😃😃😃 Maybe, you can buy Rick Flare that furry pillow? Starbucks, is over rated, unless it's double or triple star day, then I"ll get a Earl gray tea from them, but there are better places to get coffee then starbucks, I'm from Washington State❤... Love the items they have but the furniture is too big for my home. 😊
