I had a 4 day gaming event over the summer with some friends. We had several rpgs, tabletop war games, and board games. Gaslands was the biggest hit with the group by a pretty wide margin.

Happy to see a return to Gaslands. I started to collect it this year and was amazed by the smooth and exciting gameplay. Downside to it is that whenever I am in town I keep an eye on promising cars to include in my future scenarios. As a consequence to this my collection grew in no time. :)
Wouldn't he pick your maneuver after you picked up and placed the template that you were in too high a gear to use?

What a game! Absolutely love Gaslands and this was a blast! Great finish.... but Ash surely cheated at 36:14 as he should have rammed into the other car, not gone past it ;)
Nah the template didn’t overlap, so no collision. Page 47.
He did use an extra activation on a tailgate collision early on in the game though when pinball only works with side-meet-side collisions (doesn't make much sense, I know, but otherwise WAY OP in a race). Also on the very next turn he used a spin to avoid hitting the obsticle in front of a med template... looked pretty close to me, but the spin does not happen till after moving all the way to the end of the template and then rotating. I think he might have hit that obstacle if done properly, which would have negated the ability to use the spin altogether.

correct me if I'm wrong, rolling shift dice is /optional/? you don't have to roll them for every maneuver unless you're looking for shifts (or slides or spins)? If I was that close to the finish I'd just use the maneuvers.

When will you another live Battle again? I want to be there so I can ask a bunch of questions.
I play GL in a more real way; no audience votes, no teams or sponsors. Just a street fight with out the sci fi stuff (lasers, etc) and you can shoot every phase even if you are not moving. The idea to shoot only on a phase you move was included by the author just to make his game different from 40k he said in an interview.
Doesn't respawns happen at the last checkpoint? The second respawn you resumed where you were wrecked.
This was cool I decided to buy core rulebook after watching haha!! How do you get cars not to slide on mats?

at 36 minutes in, cmon Ash you pushed that car with the template to make way, really crummy way to end the game.
He's clumsy at the best of times, knocking stuff with his left hand, being loosey goosey with placement of models.
