Hi brother I have a quick question... I also drive one and see that your navigation is working mine is set to German maps how do rectify beacuse the Hyundai branch I bought it cant help me... P.S you traveled past my home town on your way to Namibia actually the last town nefore reaching the border
Absolutely a beautiful drive from Cape Town to Namibia. I'm planning to drive from KZN to Cape Town, spend a few days in CT, and then drive this beautiful road to Namibia sometime in the Summer. I'll be driving my 2023 Toyota Hilux GR-S. Can't wait, so looking forward to the trip. Great content!!
Safe trip bro. Drove from KZN to CT a few weeks ago & I will not be doing that trip anytime soon😂😂. The last 2 hours were the worst but the scenery was out of this world.
Back in 2013 we drove from Windhoek to Springbok (918.8km) on less than 3/4's of tank in my dad's 2005 Audi A6 3.0 TDI. There was no diesel available anywhere. And my dad wasn't hypermiling it at all, he just drove normally
One of the things that surprised me the most when I took my Volvo S60 up to Namibia was the fuel consumption. I averaged 15km/l between Cape Town and the border. Had a quarter tank left when i got there. Filled up other side of the border for the next stretch to Windhoek. Had a quarter tank left when i got there averaging 16km per liter. Then drove to Swakopmund from Windhoek. Got there with 3/4 tank left averaging 17km per liter. The S60 was the D5 variant with a Polestar chip (so it had loads of grunt going from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds). We drove an aevrage speed of 130 km/h...sometimes less, sometimes more.
Lol where was I with my Polo lol I'm here in Springbok area Namakwaland and my road for traveling to work. Polo drivers and their reputation like little puppy dogs we conquer😂 and test all type if vehicles on the road🏁
You are so good at what you do. The camera angles and video quality, coordinated narrations, simplicity in speech, the humility in the voice and above all the humanity portrayed. Discovered your channel 3 days ago, and I have been binging on it since then. I'll be waiting for more road trips. Keep doping great bro!
Unfortunately I couldn’t record anything after, recording when driving alone is very hard. I had to get to Namibia 12 o’clock but got there almost to 2 because if recording so its tough
My Polo 1.4 2010 does the same thing. In fact, I fill up in Windhoek and drive all the way to the border before filling up at the Shell garage, which is about 2km away. Once I have that one full tank, I can drive to Cape Town and have enough fuel to drive around for 1-3 days.
During the Energy Crisis, we often bettered 10km/l with big, heavy Mercedes-Benz cars, the 300D did just over 16km/l. The Audi 100S bettered 18.7km/l, but the speed limit was 80km/h. 50mph, for Americans reading here.
me and a friend did this years ago with a yaris we ran out just on the hill before springbok that was a fun day lol had to keep a jerry can in the car for that last bit
7 speed automatic transmission and it's reving 2000 RPM at 100 km/h. This small engines always be surprising me . My 2008 Toyota Corolla 2.0 6 speed manual D4D does those revs at 120 km/h and I've tested it to do 875 kilometres on single full tank ( 9 bars for full tank on the dashboard). The first 415 km of the journey I strictly kept it at 120km/h and the remaining 460 went abit crazy 140km/h , one pit stop for 5 minutes with engine idling and I arrived with almost 2 bars on the fuel gauge. You should compare it with the Polo TSI hatchback,I heard they can go 700km on a single full tank even if you are abit aggressive on the accelerator. Great video mahn you should do one video of city driving with a quarter tank of petrol to see how long it will last.
8ta my G. I enjoy watching your content, I even make sure that I don’t miss any episodes 😂. I’m also a System Developer (an intern currently ), however, you inspire me since I’m on the same career path as you and how wonderful you are enjoying your youth in a good way and how you doing life ❤️🔥🔥🤞👏🙏
This test was never going to end well with me because i was definetly going to struggle in fighting the edge of speeing up whenever a slow car overtakes me. great descipline espcially when you know that your car has more to give
Hey man that was a fun video. Some interesting scenery there.... Would like to come over one day! Your drone shots are amazing.... I assume you did those in the way back when fuel wasn't a concern lol 😆 I'm surprised the car did so well actually... Mine drinks like it is going out of fashion lol (Manual fastback). Well done man!
I can't believe I watched the whole vid now, it was just great. Last month I went home in Zim coming from Vereeniging to Beitbridge and I used 1 full tank (45l) it covered 604km with a Hyundai Getz 1.3
You should try to reset the fuel range. The best way is to remove power by unplugging the battery caps for a minute or 2. Hopefully, it will give you a better fuel range on the cluster.
It doesn’t need to be reseted, it calculates range based on the fuel consumption since filling up. When I filled up the car I was around the city so the average after fuelling was higher so it was calculating based on that.
Just a fun fact. My BMW e90 330d 2007 Pre-LCI model will do +-980km on a full tank of diesel. And yes, I did test it with normal driving. (No unnecessary speeding)
Nice ideo and great scenery. Love road trips. Hyundai/ Kia are great vehicles. Kevin from Edmonton Canada My last road trip was Edmonton to Vancouver through the Ro ky Mountains 1600km one way in a Mercedes GLC 300 Great drive. 33 hours with only rest stops.

Its only the National roads. The city/Metro roads are not this good.
Under the ANC, this is not possible to have roads like this in S>A
The range calc takes a lot of variables into consideration depending on how you drive, the gentler you drive the more the range will improve
