It's more about remembering that, yes the evil that people do & has been done needs to be punished & fixed. But remember, to God, we are sinners as well. We are no different than then the people Kendrick & Lecrae mentioned in there respective songs. We have all fallen short & need to humbly ask his forgiveness cause only he can forgive sin. Then we have to repent, meaning to turn away from & change our minds & perspective on sin itself. We indeed have to change the culture & hold people accountable for their actions, but out of mutual respect, care, concern, togetherness, & love, never for vengeance even if you feel they deserve it. Vengence is the lords only (Romans 12:19). That's what Jesus did for all of us. He calls us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves (Leviticus 19:18, Matthew, 22:39). We have to be the change we want to see, first.
Dee-1 responded as well.
Dee-1 is another christian rapper the Kendrick mention in his song. "I wanna be empathetic, my heart like Dee-1, but I will_______"
We def should've done that one too!
