My favorite part is how Harrison Ford seems into it for the most part, like he’s doing his job, but then when Carrie Fisher starts singing, he just absolutely dies inside
I sorta feel like he took this more seriously than he did ANH and as a result is more defining for his character, like he doesn't give any delivery as uninterested as "yesss I bet you have" in the holiday special
This was likely where his dislike for Star Wars in general started. He had been trying to get Han killed off ever since Empire. He got his wish finally in The Force Awakens.
"There is something off about her eyes." That's because Carrie Fisher admitted that she was high to the bejeezus when they filmed this. And can you really blame her?
He went from "This cant be that bad to, please for the love of god let me get up from this table and let me go home to my family, I need to hug them after seeing this."
You know, Blind Wave is a really fun channel to watch because of the positivity, mostly. I enjoy the fact that they go into things with usually one person who really enjoys the show/movie they're watching (I.E. See Rick with Cowboy Bebop or Aaron/Calvin with Doctor Who) who can guide the others along. It's a nice relaxing experience, I enjoy it very much. But I've got to be honest, seeing Eric in physical and emotional pain throughout this and seeing Shane descend into misanthropy makes me yearn for more terrible shit like this special to watch.
I was crying. But Shane saying "If it doesn't jack me off, then I don't want it" completely killed me XD EDIT: Shane completely destroyed me. Shane's reactions were the best parts
Jassan T. Brown Shane saying, “looks like they’re all going to drink kool-aid and die” and the reaction from the guys had me cracking up for 10 solid minutes
@@celeste1737 The best part is how completely deadpan he said. Like you could almost read his thoughts and hear him thinking "And I kinda hope they do, at this point."
Mark Hamill had his accident on January 11, 1977, before the first movie even came out (I believe he was on his way to do some ADR for it when he crashed). So this was indeed after the accident (the special began filming about 1 year and 7 months later) and they tried to hide the scars with too much makeup.
Omfg this is one of the best reactions I've ever seen. Such a roller coaster of emotion. Shane, I know you were suffering in this but everything from you in this reaction was priceless
So a couple of months later I think this is gonna be my go to “I’m feeling sad and need cheering up because without fail it makes me breathless after laughing so hard every time
THIS is the ONLY way to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special for the first time - chillin' with Blind Wave!!(I couldn't bring myself to just ... well... *watch* it for over 40 years!) Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
16:33 "Somethings wrong about her eyes". Thats cocaine Rick. She was high AF while they filmed this. You can rly notice it especially in those scenes where shes trying to stand up.
Literally a second ago I got the alert about the Die Hard commentary being on TH-cam and then I thought to myself "shouldn't the Holiday Special reaction be up already" and lo and behold it was suddenly there
This reaction is so hilarious! I had tears running down my face. Shane's brain literally melted at one point while the others are laughing their asses off. Thanks so much for being brave and doing this.
Past five years of watching you guys and this is hands down one of my favorite reactions. Only seen the parts you showed here and I don't need to see anymore. I laughed so hard keep up the good work.
One of the BEST reactions....EVER! Everyone laughing so hard except poor Shane. I hadn’t seen the “special” since it aired. Thanks for making me laugh so much today.
I feel bad for Shane, Aaron and Calvin look like they are at least entertained, Eric knows what is coming, Rick is delighted, but Shane just looks miserable.
6:47 I waited the entire time for Poochie to be on my screen. 11:00 The Great Kazooka home of the Goongan. 32:13 Chewy's "Where's my medal" stare. If only he knew 40 years later he would randomly get it.
God I remember, as a kid, looking forward to this airing. Seeing the ad, double checking the TV Guide to make sure I knew exactly when to be in front of the TV when it came on. This was literally my second shot at getting to see anything Star Wars having only seen Ep IV once at the theater. Even at age 9 it was a heck of a contrast.
For many years, I would tell people about this show and no one believed me. Everyone thought I was making it up until the internet came along and it finally appeared on youtube.
I love how everyone but Shane is enjoying it ironically, but Shane's unironically hating it... like at 24:49, everyone's like "hahahaha :D" and Shane's like "this is stupid >:L"
Even though it baffles me, I love seeing how happy this is making Rick. It's just so hilarious. Also, just watching the highlights of this Special, and as entertaining as their reactions and torture are....it is still the biggest struggle to get through this lol I actually scrubbed ahead and loudly exclaimed "oh my god, I still have 10 minutes?!?!?!"
I saw this as kid as it aired. Hey, at least we got some Boba Fett in it! And I was STARVED for something Star Wars! Having to wait 3 years for a movie was agonizing! By the way, Harvey Corman was a great comedic tv actor at the time. You might recognized him in some Mel Brooks films.
I never thought I would see a reaction descend into chaos more than The Room reaction. And then I discovered this. Also before this I had never seen the holiday special before. Poor Shane started out so earnestly and even after it got weird he tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but by the end he was so done. Lol All the guys were so exhausted by the end of this lol
15:00 "They gotta learn at some point..." "THE BOY HAS TO LEARN" From the Star Wars friggin holiday special? lmao This whole video...I have not laughed that hard in months. THANK YOU!
Shane’s dead eyed despair contrasted with Rick’s Joy was a sight to behold.
Look at what we did to poor Shane.
My favorite part is how Harrison Ford seems into it for the most part, like he’s doing his job, but then when Carrie Fisher starts singing, he just absolutely dies inside
I sorta feel like he took this more seriously than he did ANH and as a result is more defining for his character, like he doesn't give any delivery as uninterested as "yesss I bet you have" in the holiday special
fun2building he did ANH before he did this
@@CartwheelJoe ...yeah?
fun2building oh misread it as you said he did this and then did ANH
This was likely where his dislike for Star Wars in general started. He had been trying to get Han killed off ever since Empire. He got his wish finally in The Force Awakens.
"There is something off about her eyes."
That's because Carrie Fisher admitted that she was high to the bejeezus when they filmed this. And can you really blame her?
Harrison Ford apparently forgot he was a part of this special (or he blocked it from his memory).
Not high. Just drunk as fuck
Raiden Crow
I doubt that. This was around the time Carrie got deep into cocaine.
@@raiden_c1 she loved her cocaine lmao. Also cocaine takes any emotion or expression from your face
@@franziskanerweissbiersfasf8145 ^ our princess really enjoyed her coke, didn't she..she's missed greatly.
I just love how much Shane hates this holiday special. He's such a broken man because of this.
Our work is complete...!
He went from "This cant be that bad to, please for the love of god let me get up from this table and let me go home to my family, I need to hug them after seeing this."
Poor Shane trying to make sense of it all and Aaron desperately trying to justify its existence.
His reaction to this makes we wish even more he was in the Dragon Ball Evolution reaction.
How did you comment 2 days ago?
Group: "
Shane: "They won't be doing this a lot, right?"
Eric: >_>
Rick: :D
Shane’s enjoyment slowly fading into fear and disappointment is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time, omg
I’ve never seen Rick so damn happy.
The explosion of joy from him at 19:54 had me in tears of laughter.
We will only see it again in a decade when Berserk finally wins a poll
The Boys episode 4, when the dolphin gets run over
"Still better than 3 hours of RAW." XD
He was again this weekend in their reaction to „The Room“
Shane on the Wookiee language: "Is there a lot of it?"
I can see the pain on Eric's face.
they did it, they finally found a star wars product shane didn't like.
Tpeack They broke Shane, he is a completely broken man 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can u believe that looper the youtube channel thought this was better than the clone wars movie
@@CosmicAlpha101 l-
This is the single most hilarious reaction on this channel. Shane is MVP
Shane is never my favorite reactor of the group, but his reaction to this was the best of all 2019, lol.
Avatar the last airbender movie reaction is funnier
I keep coming back. It's so good.
And now we have this AND the room drunk reaction
@Tristan Harley I hope he is doing better mentally. I hate to be nosy, but does anyone know what issue he was having?
Shane was definitely the MVP of this reaction.
31:33 "I'm not trying to be funny" after making one of the best jokes ever made on this channel 😂
@JARU what does he say ?
@@diegotm4365 "They look like they're all gonna drink koolaid and die" (google if you need context)
This is the absolute pinnacle reaction of Blind Wave, I don't think anything will ever beat it. Shane's slow descent into hating this is hilarious.
It took them a few months, but gaddamn they actually did it lmao
The room one is actually really funny
the room reaction is also incredible
The Fast 9 reaction was good too.
an optimistic shanes slow descent into despair while watching this makes this the best reaction ever lol

I don't know what you're talking about, Rick was clearly having the time of his life.
This is Shane's greatest reaction ever lmao
Facts
This and Attack on Titan s3e17 are my top favorites from Shane.
I love that Shane cant even enjoy him making the crew choke with laughter
31:26 Shane’s legendary joke 💀
Edit: Aaron starts getting force choked after hearing it
Please tell me what he said, I couldn't understand.

Without hesitation, and without irony, the greatest reaction ive ever seen.
Kinda like Rick's love for this special: without hesitation or irony xD
The fact that rick goes through this whole thing in absolute joy and Shane slowly descends into almost a suicidal state brings me immense pleasure
Rick: "you all took your LSD before this right?"
Sums up this special very well
Rick is living his BEST life.
FR-Z At the expense of the others (especially Shane’s) pain and misery lol
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
They don't need your congratulations, they were in the holiday special"
lol
Eric's face through this is beautiful. The poor man, but the faces of pure pain he makes is entertaining.
Impressive that you managed to do this without the aid of alcohol.
This AND Dragon Ball Evolution? The holidays weren’t kind to Blind Wave this year.
Mark Hamill had his accident on January 11, 1977, before the first movie even came out (I believe he was on his way to do some ADR for it when he crashed). Poor Mark. Don't worry, He'll be fine in mid or late 1977.
To quote DBZA Kirillin:
"Namek has shorter days than this has been."
Eric saying Rick what are we doing? 04:12 is all of us when they realized there are no subtitles. I love it, I am Shane 100 percent
Shane: “It’s f*cking weird!” 😂😂😂😂 Such an understatement! Poor Shane, Rick is enjoying their misery entirely too much!
Almost 2 years later, I still come back to this wholesome video regularly :D
Eric and Shanes dispair, Aaron's confusion and Rick's giddiness is all fantastic 😂
Calvin's sense of discovery...
Okay I’ll say it Rick is the ultimate Star Wars fan to have seen this 3 TIMES!
Janna Arnold Rick is a sadist who enjoys bad movies and inflicting them onto others to suffer through for his enjoyment lol 😆
