Kudos to you, it's important for donkeys to have a diet where they keep their weight prone boys trim in the winter...! Donkeys have a tendency to gain weight, fat deposits occur on their body as a result. I volunteer at a donkey sanctuary where we have overweight donkeys with wounds all over their body because they can't get up from a laying down position. So please take care of your donkey!
I've had donkeys since 2011 and been rescuing donkeys quite awhile. All donkeys get what they need here. Most rescues I get here in my area are underweight
Thank you for this video! I love how you made the shelter with the tarps and that wire stuff (what do you call that?)? I am a new donkey mom to three in Dominican Republic and we have very limited resources available but something like that would totally work for them to get out of the rain! Can I ask what that stuff is called under the tarp (looks like wire fencing)? Thanks!
HI Amber! Congradulations on your new donkeys!! I think you're talking about the cattle panels... we tend to use them as the roofs and dog lot panels for the walls. My husband just put up a really neat shelter for a new donkey I just brought in.. he's doing a video on it with details! Should be out next week

Do you worry about oak trees at all? I've been researching and saw they weren't good for Donkeys.
Nope I sure don't! Nothing wrong with oaks and equine together.. Its the acorns that cause the problem.. if your donkey eats to many they can get fat.
