    Coming along nice guys! I think the red will look good, the burnt areas look black so it should tie together well. I think a real glossy finish will also look good and protect the wood.

      Thank you. I really appreciate it. I am definitely planning on doing a glossy finish either way

    great work on your progress. Clear finish on the bed is my thought. i like the idea of red but more red in other places would be needed to bring it all together. just my thought

      Thank you. That is very true. I didn't really plan for red anywhere else so it might be out of place.

    I've checked the smokeyroadrodshops bed floor kits they look great they also have tailgate latches and cables .your idea looks great to the red would look good with red pinstripes on the grey to tie it altogether

      I did check them out as well. There beds look amazing. Thank you. That is a really good point, it would definitely need some accents to tie it all together

    I don't mind the red if you have that as an accent colour somewhere else on the truck to tie it together otherwise it may look out of place. torched look is good.

      That is a really good point. I am also a big fan of the torched look.

    Looking amazing so far. Maybe something to think about, will there be anything else close to that shade of red anywhere else? How does it look with the wheel color? Me personally, I'd finish with a clear finish and maybe space the metal plates the width of the tires. Think of 2x6 vs 2x10. Proud of your progress guys!

      @decelation  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. That is a good point, I didn't even consider having red anywhere else. I didn't really check it against the wheel color either. That is a really cool idea for the metal spacing, I will definitely have to try it out. I really appreciate it.

    the bed looks good. interior's classy. can i know about your engine specs though?

    • @decelation
      @decelation  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. It is a LQ4 from a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500. It is an iron block 6.0L. It has been bored over, forged pistons and rods, ported heads with larger valves, and a decent cam. I have an entire build series on my channel of this engine that goes into much greater detail. It is the LQ4 build playlist

    Looking good your dash looks good. Your dash will need to be out in order to align the doors because the upper hinge mount is behind the dash. Google
    Smokeyroadrodshop and check out the bed kits this guy has I used one of his kits I get tons of compliments on it and when I say to people it’s aluminum they are dumbfounded.
    I cut a hole in the stainless bed sheet to access the battery from the top of the bed just remove two slats of the bed kit and I’m on it. I also to installed a battery cut off I can access from behind the drivers seat I also wired in a battery tender I plug in by the drivers seat also installed a positive battery post I can jump outside by the engine because I’m running shaved handles and if it ever goes dead I have a spot to jump or charge.
    If you e mail me I could give you my cell #. And we could brainstorm further
    Peace. Rob

      Thank you I appreciate it. That is really good to know. I will check them out. I love that idea about the hole in the bed sheet, I am definitely going to implement that on this build. That is an amazing idea about the battery tender. I never even thought about that. I will shoot you an email. I appreciate your assistance.

    I've seen engine cover panels on these trucks that kill it's looks. Please don't use'm. . Edit:plese get a 72 mm turbo on that engine

      I am not putting engine covers on this truck. This is version 1 of the build to maintain simplicity. I may have a few evolutions in mind already
