What city/part of the DR were you in ?
What is your favorite thing about DR? Do you think your Spanish improved more in DR compared to your study abroad program in Chile?
Mei Mackleer 李梅 hi, Yes! Absolutely my spanish improved TREMENDOUSLY during my time there! My favorite thing about the DR would have to be how loving the people are. Communities are so small that people spend a bunch of time together instead of on their phones
Do you get paid for the job you do in school? Or your only source of income is that PC stipend?
Larry Ramos we are only paid by Peace Corps.
Did you get asked if you knew Spanish during the interview? Were you tested on Spanish during the interview?
Katie I did get asked what my level of Spanish was but they don’t test you during the interview so don’t stress on that. People of ALL levels of Spanish are accepted and learn the language in country. I had people in my group that had very little Spanish when they joined. Now they are all bilingual
