My brother and I did Sea Base as Boy Scouts. It was one of the greatest experiences we had as Scouts, and we still appreciate the natural majesty of the Keys and the Coral reefs. Our kids are going to be there when they are old enough!
I was in Sea Base back in 1995 and 1997. It was really, really great. As the "promo" suggests not just a vacation. troop 192 Huntsburg, Ohio. I made Eagle Scout 1998.
Im kinda nervous about going as I don't have experience sailing. Does this camp require you to have a really good understanding of how to sail or will they explain it.
Troop 70 Geneseo Ny attended sea base I believe in 2001. We stayed on big Munson and man that trip literally changed my life. I have never witnessed such an amazing island with hours of exploring. We caught 5 mahi and TONS of lobster due to the fact we were there for the small spiny lobster season. We did have an unfair advantage! An old lobster men was on the street in key west swilling a beer and when we walked by he said " I see a bountiful catch for you and your friends! You gonna get in the water after the lobster right? Well I'm blessing ye with the luck! You will have many large lobster!" He was right our group was the only group to catch our limits every day. Our secret? FISH INSIDE THE BOUY LINE! YES! Everyone thought to fish deep because for sure all the lobster were caught..right? Nope! On our five minute walk to shore on the first attempt we had 3 large lobsters each between my friend and I. I could go on for weeks with stories on sea base! Send your kids! Go with them! It's an experience you will never forget and it's worth every penny!

My grandson was at Sea Base Adventure last month with his troop from PA. He was absolutely thrilled with the experience!
Seabase was my most enjoyable scouting experience ever. I fell in love with the ocean and the keys my first day.
