I appreciate this video so much. I took our DEGX1 96010-A apart, expecting to find a worn-out filter ring, but it was good as new after 17 years!! Cleaned everything out, reassembled, and am ready to tackle the vent outlet and tubing. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I have a 10 year old Fisher & Paykel Washer and Dryer. It recently stopped heating. I did 2 loads of clothes and it dried well, then the third load it kept running and running. When we investigated, the air coming out of the vent was cold. Our dryer has been blowing lint outside for a while now. I ordered the part from an appliance parts site online for $78. When it came we re-watched your video and my husband set out to change the filter and clean it out. It didn't go quite as easily as it did for you, but we changed the old filter, vacuumed it all out, even pulled off the front panel and hit the reset button for the fuse. It worked nicely after! No one in our area carries this brand anymore and NO ONE services them. Thank you again!

My husband and I watched your video and decided to try cleaning the dryer and lint filter. You outlined every step, perfectly, and there is no where else we could have gotten this information. You are absolutely wonderful for sharing this information. God bless you for saving us money and time (without our dryer).

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I have a rub that I was getting ready to look for but this was equally as important because mine is about the same age and has never been changed. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for posting this video! We've owned our F&P dryer for years and never knew that lint could build up internally past the filter. You may very well have saved us from a disastrous house fire!

Thank you so much for posting this most helpful video. I used it to figure out where the plastic piece that holds in the lint cup goes as well as how to replace the wheel. It's nice to know there are wonderful people in the U.S.A. that are willing to take the time to help other citizens. After this horrible day in Dallas where 5 police officers were murdered, I needed to complete a home repair project and feel a sense of peace. Thanks again for your help.

This was very helpful. I just replaced the drum bearing and noticed some lint in the old one. A dryer repairman told me that lint from a defective filter can cause the bearing to go bad, I checked and there was a hole in the filter! This repair will probably give me extended life on the bearing replacement also. Two for one!

@@doxmomma979 Hello, I went online and found close-up photos of how I'm supposed to attach the silver sensors. I'm 5'2" so I'm looking down on the sensors instead of directly facing them. I could send you the photos if you like. Please provide your email. Also, my previous question about the bottom screw, I searched online for the parts manual. The name of the screw is listed and its size (dimensions). I took that info to Lowes and the sales rep gave me the correct screwdriver. I haven't had a problem since. Best, Biomedlib.

Some great info and nice delivery! My wife was just doing some drying and complaining about squeaking so I was looking for videos and came across your great information. I had never done this so there was a quite a backlog of lint, enough to make sweater. Any advice on the squeaking? Can you grease something up? I also wonder if replacing the lint screen on the plastic piece would be doable. $70 seems steep when you realize you just need small strip of mesh. I might give it a try and share the results.

Would it be tricky figuring out that airflow and resistance etc. And then having the right kind of glue that could handle the heat etc. Seemingly difficult/risky. Looking at this cheap looking plastic filter I would have thought that it would be worth about 40 maximum but it now costs almost 3x that.
