Hi mate, Just a quick question for you, I have a volvo V40 D4 r design 2.0 diesel year 2014, now i seem to be going through oil quite a bit, I've been looking for weeks every morning for oil on the road where I park and nothing they no smoke coming from anywhere at all running fine, Just can't figure out where it's going. Any help would be appreciated
@DIYDaly every few weeks it asks for half a litre to 1 litre as it's not a manual dip stick it's electric one, What you mean burning it,? How, and why, and solution
@@sheffcitys2forgedinsteel255 so much will pass through and get burnt up as it’s passes through the exhaust .. these engines arnt know for excess oil consumption though , you need to get it checked really . There’s a possibility the turbos failed or a leak in the intake system and it’s dragging the oil into the intake ..
@DIYDaly if the turbo had gone tho wouldn't it be kicking out smoke through the exhaust? And it's been like this for a year now and apart from not knowing where the oil is going it runs and drives fine no loss of power, Very very strange.
Yeah I like em tbf, I really fancy an XC60 D5 at the mo but gota get some funds together first! 😬 .. Yeah Topdon still going strong.. its my "go to" machine now.. still got the snap on but its mega slow.. I still haven't found anything that the topdon can't do compared to the snap on (other than ours has a scope!)
Replaced copper seals on this engine today due to fumes in cabin. Noticed a leak off pipe clip only had 1 tab instead of 2, could this cause the fume smell inside the cabin? Keep up the great work you're videos have been a lot of help to me
Quick question I’ve just removed my original injectors and they have a small plastic sleeve around them the new genuine ones don’t do you know if you have to remove that sleeve from the original and put it on the new one Tia
Today I replaced an injector on my 2015 v40 D2, your video was great guidance.Thanks! I noticed that on the car you worked on the dashboard shows: "ESC termporarily off". I had exactly the same dashboard message before replacing the injector. After replacing the injector it changed into: "City safety service required'. Any idea what this could be? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the comment , tbh I’ve never seen that message before , have you done a full code scan after? Presumed it should have some sort of fault code relating to it

Hi there, on my s40 1.6D 2011, i had the 4th injector faulty been changed in garage with an new one, but when i picked the car up, when is accelerated has an tapping noise comming from engine/injector can't notice exactly from where. It this happened to someone or anyone knows the reason / any tips. Diagnostic has no fault found i don't know if injector been coded but my friend couldn't see that function on his snap on diagnostic tool. I been back with the car to the garage and they said can be from DPF but i don't see the sense cuz havw no fault and before the injector faulty engine been smoothly.

I saw that it was not on the one you put back in, and I am just wondering if it is necessary, or if it works without. I have removed mine, and it has a similar band around it in white. The new one I am going to put back in does not have one. Did you put one on before you put the new one in, or is it not necessary?
Nice presentation but to be complete you havent added the process for allowing the ecu to set parameters and to learn the new injector . Can you post me the procedure please

I have a faulty injector. And the same esc message. Can't be a coincidence.

Could be various other issues , I wouldn’t replace them with out a specific fault code or without testing them

Some times the injectors are quite tappy until configured correctly .. could be diesel knock
Out of sheer curiosity, how many work hours would be normally billed for removing all 4, checking and putting them all back in?

You can get away without it , it’s a locating guide to keep it nice and square

The procdure can only be done on a diagnostic machine mate

Those injectors must be coded into the ECU. I did the coding with a TEXA scanner and then did the adaption.

its more of a calibration, it will be ok without coding but takes longer to adjust
