Here from the podcast to leave my comment. Dear Emma, from another Emma - Your voice of calmly reasoned analysis is appreciated, and I am glad you chose not to ‘hire’ that ‘Editor’. I think there’s a scale along which benign ‘take it or leave it’ social influence is found at one point, but direct ‘don’t do that’ authoritarian CONTROL is way out of line. Keep doing you, this was a great example of holding onto your personal values and boundary in the face of an unreasonable critic who was trying to displace responsibility for managing their own feelings onto you. Enjoying all the topics you cover but am especially interested in your fashion stuff as I’m currently in such a boring rut 😆 Best wishes! 💪🏻
Emma, I love how you've phrased this and may have to steal it. 'Displace responsibility for managing their own feelings onto you' is exactly it. Someone today left a comment on my food video saying they couldn't understand why I used protein powder when other protein sources are better and I just thought 'that's a YOU problem'. So it's nice to hear how you put it in this comment. I'm thrilled you're enjoying the content and I'm also delighted you've commented on the video. Means a lot. Thank you so much!

Hi! Thank you so much. This is kind feedback. I try, wherever possible, to approach the criticism with a compassionate point of view. Assuming there main be pain behind the pointed comment - which there often is - as I don't want to start a fight but rather disarm someone who has shown up with an aggressive or pointed agenda.
