    Thank you. My mom's vehicle has been jerking when accelerating from stop... but mechanics were saying they couldn't reproduce it, so they had to wait for it to get worse. It has been years... and this now points to a possible culprit.

    The engine mount quality is cheap...these days company are producing very cheap quality products..they want us to buy again in a few days.

    thanks for showing us how to check mounts using the bar, it's more easier than checking if silicon fluid start leaking out of the mount!
    So the engine torque mount under a civic indeed broken.... Must be too much torque from vetc!🤣

    Cool. The top engine mounting is a scheduled replacement @ 90k kms on the civic.
    My top mounting lasted to 160k and I sold the car with 262k with the bottom engine mount still fine.
    Great car!!

    I’m feeling a lot of vibrations inside the vehicle when in low rpm idling perfectly fine but I’m assuming it’s due to bad mounts I some time feel a slight jerk I’ll have to check them out thanks for the video.

    My 2010 civic make some metallic noise only when decelerating or accelerating in first or second gear. Also is very difficult to change gears smoothly. Could be the same issue? Thx.

      There are four. The engine mount, the torque struts top and bottom, and one at the transmission too.

    Is the oem honda mount stiff like hard plastic? I got an Anchor brand from advance auto parts and its like hard polymer not mushy rubber; is this normal?

    • @theoffroadingmechanic
      @theoffroadingmechanic  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are pretty hard rubber and doesn't allow much movement when the engine is running. So yes it's normal

    Hey H Tech, I was servicing a 2018 CRV with 50,000KM on it. I was surprised seeing the a/c lines and compressor, and possible rear main seal leaking. Do you have experience seeing those things leak at such a early stage? I was shocked - I know Honda isn't as "reliable" as Toyota. But recent Honda's build quality is kinda questionable

    • @theoffroadingmechanic
      @theoffroadingmechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea have seen a couple compressors and flexible a/c line leak. Not a rear main. But I feel like all manufactures are going in that direction in quality some more than others.

      @@theoffroadingmechanic There are too many whispers about how car manufacture would like you trade in for a new car every five or three years... Designs are trading off repairability more and more.
