That would be awesome but probably prohibitively expensive and labour intensive sadly. Not to mention the insane difficulty of finding a team of animators capable of replicating his style.
I love the fact that he said he wasn’t suprised about wining the award for seven straight years. If I was him I’d be more surprised if I didn’t win the award. Congratulations! As Stan Lee once said...Excelsior!
chwen hoou That would make a great prize at say a Comic-Con charity raffle, the biggest doner would get a guided walk through of his home, or at least his “playroom” there. 🤗
Alex Ross is truly an inspiration, and a legend! And when people show me a painting by a famous artist, that’s nothing but dots and specks....I show them a painting of Superman by an artist who actually makes real art, not just specks that a 5 year old could do😂🤣😂🤣
God Bless Alex Ross, living the dream, and providing hope for millions to reach for their dreams. Also thank you CBS for recognizing things like this, inspirations. So much bad new these day, totally refreshing.
Alex Ross...I dont get it... This gentleman is such a Genius! His words, his wisdom, his view over these Characters, his knowledge, his experience!!! WHY are People not giving him the chance of being the Head of the creative team on the DC Universe!! He would put so much Magic on any (Comic)Story, Movie or Game! His mixture of the Past History of Comics and the Modern times is unique! He is such a talent! Such an inspiration to Me! The Love and importance he gives these Characters is simply Magical! His symbolic elements in his Paintings are frighteningly beautiful! PLEASE anyone! Give this Man more Power over Creative processes on DC!!!
I know how you feel Mike, but the leadership scenario at DC is a case of the blind leading the blind and no one has the courage or humility to admit it. Hiring Alex Ross in a more creative position makes too much sense, but also I don't know that Mr. Ross wants the headaches of being a decision maker; it's not all cookies and cream.
Wow, Sir!! I absolutly agree with you! You are right! It makes to much sense!! This is also the reason why Paul Dini isnt on the Headcreative team either!Have a Happy New Year Mr. Jackson! You and Your Family and Everyone you love and who is making You happy. GOD Bless!
Steven Peal (my grade school art teacher), Frank Frazetta, Stan Lee and Alex Ross are my heroes. Nobody has ever had such a dramatic influence on my art. Thank you guys for such a wonderful journey.
I'm so happy for you, Alex! I met you at a local Chicago area comic book convention in 1994 when you were promoting the Marvels mini series and look at you now. I'm pretty sure the painted Hulk covers that you referenced were from the old Rampaging Hulk magazines. Great to hear those inspired you. Congratulations!
20 years ago, Alex Ross drew a graphic novel written by Mark Waid called Kingdom Come. To this day, it remains amongst the finest illustrations of DC's Justice League ever created. And, as a kicker, Shazam's (aka Billy Batson's) cameo appearance in the story is the most startling iteration of the character I've ever seen.
His art is very grounded in the sense the characters look like they belong to their era..honestly if I hadn't known these were drawn by Alex Ross , I would have come to the conclusion that these were done in the 1950s
A True Amazing Artist... He can easily sell his original art for hundreds and thousands of dollars and yet HE SITS ON A 10 DOLLAR CHAIR!!! Just imagine if he sat on a Herman Miller chair!
Awesome , a family gift passed on from Mother to Son and both are champs . Also he colors his drawings with the same finesse. That room with lifesize Superheroes would be any comic book fan's dream to roam .
Truly a great inspiration n the realism you create is beyond the word of beautiful. Truly blessed to have some of your work in my home. Thank you n congrats. =:)
Off the charts interesting to me. Mr Ross, to be a fly on the wall during a conversation with you & some1 much more interesting than me converse about comics.
I freakin love it! He reminds me so much of my mentor and professor/teacher Vincent Difate. Makes me appreciate how much thought should go into your art. My fiance got me the Marvelocity book for Christmas. I just need the oversized Marvels to complete my collection. Keep the videos coming dude and congrats!
Fantastic work. Although I would consider myself a landscape artist in acrylic and water color (oils soon), as a kid I was fascinated with comics books. We couldn't afford them but every chance I got either at the store or from the neighbor kid i would study them intently. Decades later, with reference everywhere I am still working on the face and figures. I'm glad you had someone close to derive inspiration and instruction.
Jesus his work is amazing. Phenomenal...Stunning! His dedication to his work is amazing, and I love how he carries himself in such a dignified, yet gracious manner. Very inspirational, and someone I'll now add to my inspiration list.
wow that michael keaton batman at 3:44 is dope!!! i actually love his mom's illustration that they showed too, does anyone know where i can see more of her work?
You the man.....love how you bring something new to comics while everyone else was doing a more comic style art you came in and done this realistic type of art almost god like I see that in your Thor gives me this Greek god vibe ahah love your work
you and Jim Lee, Bruce Timm , Tom King , Tyler Kirkham and Tony S. Daniel Your since my favorite Batman comic arts ! I would love to make a movie from your Batman comic written by Paul Dini as a TH-cam fan movie I already asked Paul Dini but he wrote to me that he did not care anymore Batman wants to do! Which is a pity So I ask you if you want to join in as a scriptwriter and executive producer, producer and co. Director , you also wrote the comic! Batman: War On Crime ! I have the best castlist for the Batman: War On Crime Fan Movie eg Jon Hamm as Bruce Wayne / Batman!? Please write me what you think of the idea
Said it before and I'll say it again, they Need to make a computer animated superhero movie that faithfully adapts Alex Ross's style and spirit.
That sounds amazing!
I always thought Jon Hamm resembled Alex Ross's superman.
That would be awesome but probably prohibitively expensive and labour intensive sadly. Not to mention the insane difficulty of finding a team of animators capable of replicating his style.
or a game.
😊 Jamal Shelly says Alex Ross the artistis number one
I love the fact that he said he wasn’t suprised about wining the award for seven straight years. If I was him I’d be more surprised if I didn’t win the award. Congratulations! As Stan Lee once said...Excelsior!
I'd give anything to take a tour of Alex Ross's home.
he doesn't want you there
chwen hoou That would make a great prize at say a Comic-Con charity raffle, the biggest doner would get a guided walk through of his home, or at least his “playroom” there. 🤗
Alex you are a superhero
Congrats Mr Ross!

Alex Ross is one of the great artists of the illustrated story.
Its about time Alex got some wider recognition. In surprised there isn't a lengthy feature documentary on him. My favorite comicbook artist.
Has always been my favorite artist. I want to be just like him
be original instead
God Bless Alex Ross, living the dream, and providing hope for millions to reach for their dreams. Also thank you CBS for recognizing things like this, inspirations. So much bad new these day, totally refreshing.

Life has never been designed to make a whole ton of sense. 😂
Yeah he is very well-spoken and truly understands the magic of comics.
Steven Peal (my grade school art teacher), Frank Frazetta, Stan Lee and Alex Ross are my heroes. Nobody has ever had such a dramatic influence on my art. Thank you guys for such a wonderful journey.
If someone shouldnt feel nervious about working with iconic characters is Alex Ross, because HE had made them ICONIC

Now's the time for DC to reproduce that T Shirt.
Alex Ross & Norman Rockwell two American heros
We also have to give Chip Kidd credit as well.
Min 4:17 until 4:45... Thank you! That had to be said.
Thank you CBS, & Alex ❤

Julian McQueen Totally agree! Love Kingdom Come!

“Superman doesn’t think he’s right about everything he just happens to be right.” Tells you he understands his subject matter.

There's noone even quite as good as Alex Ross. He's the second best, just after Jack Kirby.
You inspire me, Alex!

The person that disliked this video has no soul.
I also want a magical comic book cave .
This was awesome !
Always a fan of Captain Marvel
It seems like DC Comics doesn't like the Alex Ross Superman.
Business People do not like Alex Ross... Artistic People love Alex Ross.
My lovest video in Alex Ross.
Modern Michaelangelo....capturing modern Gods
It's a dream
I like when he draws the beautiful women because they are so hot like Vampirella.
