SO excited for tori’s “new friend.” it’s a plotline from the comics and alice’s first book, “solitaire,” that i’m VERY excited for. also, did you notice darcy’s new haircut and the fact she’s wearing a binder in some of these clips. getting some STRONG nonbinary vibes here…
kizzy edgell (the actor who plays darcy) currently goes under the pronouns as he/they ! hope it helps
@@haerinsjournal when i said “she” i was referring to the character of darcy who, as of right now, uses she/her pronouns. i wasn’t referring to kizzy or the potential pronouns the character will use in s3

the teaser (and a few other interviews and leaks) confirmed that a lot of the plot points and scenes from books four and five, This Winter and even a mini-comic will be covered. It's a lot for one season, but they lifted Nick's coming out dinner from book four and put that way sooner in the show's timeline in season two, so maybe there's enough room for everything.
One thing that book readers noticed (I’m sure after watching multiple times lol) was that we see Charlie’s SH scars on his arms. So that will be a part of the story too.
Kit says S3 will be “steamier.” In an interview Joe said that it will be “raunchier.” As the boys are growing up, so will their loving. Nick wasnt ready before. Now perhaps he and Charlie will be ready. Should be interesting. How will the actors handle this transition?

Haha! The Ferris wheel. But it is gonna be a way different Ferris wheel scene than you expect. It is one of my favorite scenes from book 5. I’m so excited to see more Tori!
Love this reaction and SO EXCITED for the new season!! Also, the Ferris Wheel (minor spoiler) has nothing to do with romance like Love Simon LOL and is a sweet bonding moment with Charlie and another character

Alice has confirmed This Winter will be included in S3! It’s referenced in volume 4, so makes sense. :)

Though we had a Heartstopper spring with s1, a summer with s2 and now we'll have Heartstopper autumn with s3. 😄
Well if they do follow this pattern they logically need a s4 released in winter and I'm not gonna complain about that! 😂 I literally can't wait to get to see more heartstopper content! 💜

If that’s the Summer Fete, which takes place in volume five, that means that episode 8 takes place a full year after the end of season two.
I wish we didn't have to wait so long, but I think October makes sense story wise. Based on the books that are being adapted for season 3 (Heartstopper vol 4-5 and the novella This Winter), most of the big story beats coming up will take place in the fall and winter. Christmas Day will be a doozy... iykyk. No spoilers, but as far as the intimacy stuff goes, I think you'll be quite pleased with how that storyline develops! This season is going to be really packed with big emotions and character development.
Have you guys read any of Joe and Kit's interviews? They've had some really great ones you'd probably find interesting. Their British GQ cover story from 2022 and their New York Times and Teen Vogue interviews from 2023 are particularly insightful. They both also did very in-depth episodes of Josh Smith's podcast back in 2022 when season 1 dropped. We didn't get a lot of content from them for season 2 due to the SAG strike but hoping we get more for season 3.
Joe's also going to have a really crazy fall, as the Agatha show (Wandavision spinoff Joe's starring in alongside Kathryn Hahn) is expected to premiere in September, with weekly releases that will likely overlap with Heartstopper S3. It would be great to see you two react to that one too, it's sounding like there will be lots of queer representation!
Joe said in an interview season 3 will get raunchier & deeper, if you slow down youll see Charlie's cutting scars. Season 3 will be a rollercoaster of emotions #Heartstopper

Well, october here in Brazil is spring, so for me the perfect timing for a comfort bright series like Heartstopper😅 (although, having read the comics I know that things may get a little darker this time but overall it's Heartstopper... it's gonna be ok and beautiful in the end)🍂

I still wish you guys would do Sense8. The actors for that show also continued the conversation by going to Pride in Sao Paulo in 2018 and having an entire float there. They then included footage of it in the tv show and made some amazing commentary in character about the experience. I hope you'll consider it, however I'll also be excited to watch Heartstopper this fall and then see your reactions to that as well :)
some have speculated that it's October release might help give Alice, the author and writer of the series, time to finish book 6 of her comic series of the same name, Heartstopper.

Speaking of Ferris Wheels, have you ever considered responding to Dead End Paranormal Park? Based loosely on Hamish Steele's Deadendia graphic novels, it has some amazing representation and it's very funny and inventive. And one of the episodes in Season Two takes place on a Ferris Wheel!

I would think the ferris wheel is a place for isolation, where you can be who you are and/or intimate as much as you want without being judged by others.
I feel like this works as a story/plot development tool in the same way that being stuck in a broken lift/elevator or being in a hostage situation or pushed in a closet to avoid a potential shooter (thinking Red White And Royal Blue) I feel like they all achieve the same goal; stick 2 or more characters in a situation they can't escape from for enough time that they are forced to get real and deep with each other and they learn something about one another/grow closer to or forced to address issues they've been avoiding and once the tension gets high/issues are resolved they are able to escape/leave that situation but they are left impacted by the experience.
I feel like the whole Ferris wheel has been used a lot lately because everyone is so distracted by all the fun of the fair/fête that they aren't supposed to see the more serious chats happening, also it can provide an easy way to move between a heavier to a lighter scene, but now it has been used a fair bit it is getting more predictable that if characters go on a ferris wheel something is bound to come from it! 😂

I think the reason its not out untill October is cos Alice is still writing book 6 (the final one ) which will be season 4, she needs time to write the script and probably won't film it till next year. The fact that its set in summer though would of been better out in late aug. Can't believe it that long.😢

if you were wanting to know why they have a Ferris wheel, like in the movies you mentioned, its because towards the ending of (volume 5 book of Heartstopper) is at a carnival :) So I guess they decided to keep that in the series.

Hey guys, I have loved all your reaction videos since I watched them over a year ago. S3 should be interesing. More grown up. What do YOU TWO think more “steamy” means?
Hi, I love all your videos! If you are looking for a new show, and you want something a little different, I really recommend Good Omens!! It has two season right now and is in the process of a third. It is such a sweet queer storyline, but it is also really different to like heart stopper, or young royals, or fellow travellers for example, because its this really camp funny fantasy? im not sure if thats the right genre, but its about an angel and a demon who have been alone on earth since the garden of eden, who are supposed to be enemies but are actually best friends (and more 👀). The first season is less explicitly queer, because its based on the book which was written in the 90s, but it provides a lot of important set up for the second season which is VERY gay, and is not based on the book. The first season is also queer given context of the second season, it’s like the build up of a slowburn romance, and it can actually show a really cool example of a queer platonic relationship, where as season two delves more into the romanic side. And as you said in this video the actors work off screen and behind the scenes is just as important, and that is very true for good omens, the main actors are Michael Sheen and David Tennant who are massive allies, but also david is a really loud and prevalent advocate for the trans community because one of his kids is non-binary and he has talked about it a-lot, and in all of his interviews he wears a non-binary pin, he has raised a ton of money for trans charities and has walked a red carpet with a shirt that said “leave trans kids alone you freaks” which was iconic. Basically he is such a good role model, even as a straight actor and Michael is too. Good omens is genuinely such a good series and it is my favourite show of all time, I would love to see your thoughts on it!
So thankful we are getting SEASON 3. Sad that it isn't being released until October... but at least we have something to look forward to. YOUNG ROYALS is finished so this is the last show of this type. THANKS GUYS!!!

Yeah I’m with you that it seems a bit long of a wait. Seeing last year it was pushed back till August. Now even longer this time round. Netflix is being a real…… when it comes to our based content. They either keep cancelling after one season, And not giving some content that has real promise. An actual chance or just scrapping it completely. Or making us wait. And it’s a bit of a pain as we need more content that paints different perspectives of the community. I’ve tried watching some shows/movies I have on my list….. and some of the main characters are either problematic or just not complex and seem to be from a certain perspective. I don’t think a lot of these shows and movies are written or portrayed by people who grasp what or how it feels. Some actors do amazing jobs and some do so, so. But I hate to say it, as it’s an actors job regardless of sexuality…..but I agree with the whole some LGBTQIA+ Actors give more and show the rawness of what it’s like. And they really drive it forward during promotions. And the straight actors use it as an opportunity to show how “evolved” they are for portraying a Gay Character. They use it to get women. I have seen and read stuff to that affect.

Sometimes I wish I did because I wanted to be surprised but at times I'm like let's see how Alice changes things from her books to the show to keep it dramatic enough and season 3 is going to be VERY mature. I ask you to rewatch the video and just watch carefully at everyone. 😊
To be fair this announcement revealed very little (aside from things getting “steamier”)! There are things we can pick up on as comic/book readers who know why this scene is significant, and also what leads up to it (Will’s and Jenny’s very vague comments hit different with context), but without that context there’s not much to go off of!

A different take-when people demand gay actors play the gay roles it’s also saying unless you are that character you can’t play them. Acting is pretending. To say this means that the gay actors shouldn’t play straight roles, which I don’t think most of them would want to agree to. I think there is balance and nuance there.
