From someone who has always been interested in sewing but frozen and intimidated by not knowing where to start and fear of making mistakes/unclear pattern instructions, etc I am so happy I found you!! Thank you so much for sharing your precise step-by-step instructions in a way for the first time, I feel I finally found an instructor who understands people like me with learning challenges. ❤❤❤
So much detail!! In-depth knowledge. It's like I went to a class. Please don't stop making videos. Please teach blazers, garment finishing tips, corsets, and everything...I am so glad I found you ❤️
Haha! I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope it has inspired to you. I will be making more videos very soon but they will concentrate on bra-making. There just aren't enough hours in the day to cover every topic!
Priceless! so much knowledge and so gifted way to speak, so clear instructions. After watch this SUPER CLASS I feel very very confident I can sew my own bra. Tks so much to spend your time teaching me as I really never had the opportunity and the means to take classes like this and also teachers like you are far in between.
I just spent two days watching your videos after sewing my first bra. I wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to share. I was discouraged with the fit, but I’m ready to do the adjustments after all your tips and confident I’ll have a well fitting and comfortable bra! 😊
This has been a wonderful video with very thorough instructions! Thank you for taking the time to teach us! I ordered a Pin-Up Girls Bra, the Shelley pattern, and I'm watching all your videos one by one as I've never sewn a bra before! I'm confident I can do this with the help of your video instructions 😊
fantastic teacher...absolutely fantastic while calming, funny and detailed...can't wait to watch more of her videos...I will translate her teaching to swimwear...
Thank you so much for your instruction. They are concise. Easy to understand. I'll be able to finish. Um, my bra that I started two years ago and haven't touched it since. Because of your instruction. You have given me confidence. Well done. You are an amazing teacher. Well done.
Thank you so much for your clear, detailed instructions! I especially liked the part where you showed how to attach the strap elastic to the scoop on the back of the bra. Looking forward to watching all your videos.
I really enjoyed this video. I’m an experienced sewer, but have yet to make a bra. I have gained so much knowledge here, not just in bra making but also some sewing tips that are incredibly helpful. Very interested that you rarely locked your stitching, I presume that is because you were going to stitch over it again on another step? I love that you can’t be bothered hand washing and everything goes in the dryer, shows how durable your methods stitching are and how refreshingly human/honest you are too.... although I may say, as someone who washes ALL our clothes by hand and line dries them (4 years travelling Australia in a caravan, at least 10 more years to go), that I can completely hand wash and hang out a week’s worth of clothes (including sheets) in only 20-30 minutes with barely more effort than you putting washing in and out of your washer AND dryer 😂
So many key tips in this video, that I’m confident my next bra making session will succeed. Can’t thank you enough, and for once can’t wait for the next rainy day to stay in and sew!
I never usually comment on videos but this is the Best video ive seen yet! (and ive watched a great deal of them on lingerie how to’s) Great teacher! Straight to the point without any of the other crap people blab on about, just down to what you came for! I HIGHLY recommend this video for lingerie/bra beginners.
This is such a well done, in-depth tutorial, I'm LOVING it ❤️❤️❤️ I had a great time watching it and even going back to parts I was especially interested in. You explain every detail so wonderfully 😍😍
Loved your tutorial. I'm sure I will watch again. i was disappointed that everything was not the same color, but this is the best bra making tutorial I've seen.
So glad you enjoyed it. I chose to use different-coloured components and stitching to make it obvious for a beginner to see what I was doing! Thank you for such a great compliment :)
Thank you, I had made one but that was months ago, so it was useful to be able to clarify a few steps that were not clear in my notes and the pattern instructions
Just want to make a comment about the sewing skill required...my daughter and I went to Beverly Johnson's 4 day (it was 4 days then, around 2016) and in Hamilton, Ontario then. It was fantastic!!! I am just getting around to bras and swimwear now, 8 years later. I did know how to sew at an intermediate or advanced level. My daughter however went to that class with the little babylock portable sewing machine that I bought her a few days before, and if I recall, took it out of the box on the first day of the course. On day two of the class, surrounded by four other unbelievably skilled seamstress', artists, pattern makers, corset makers, from all over the continent, my daughter said, "is this a seam?" to my horror because we said she had some sewing experience. She went home from that class and made many fitness competition swim wear bikinis for herself and other competitors. My story is just to say don't think one must be from an Atelier and trained by masters to take a course. You'll get better from where ever you start. She did fine. Well, it may have helped to know what a seam was so as not to mortify the teacher who was Bev. Some thought it was funny, I am not sure Bev thought it too funny.
I have just subscribed and want to say thank you for your Chanel. You are so very descriptive and clear. Makes such a difference as you take your students step by step with pieces of wisdom in between.
Really useful Mandy. Even as an ‘experienced’ bra maker, I don’t make them frequently and so I often forget some aspects of the process (could also be my age of course!) so this will really help me to avoid all the unpicking when I get things in the wrong order. I’d love a short film on the Gothic Arch if you have time. TFS
Thank you! Good luck with your bra and try not to be too disappointed if it doesn't fit exactly how you might like. Sewing and fitting is a process but once you've got it right, the world is your oyster! I will be doing more videos about fitting and alterations very soon!
Rainy day came, and using odds left over from a long ago failed attempt to make a bra plus a practice pack from you I have a bra that fits pretty well. Previous attempt was sized using high chest and full bust measurements (an older Shelley pattern). This time used a new Classic using lower bust sizing. As you say in your video, for me this makes for a very well fitted band. Still a bit of bulge of me at arm hole level, but it’s a useable gardening bra. The colour scheme is a bit wild but my husband seems to like the Wonder Woman look. Who knew. Thank you again for this really helpful video.
I wholeheartedly agree with others who have commented, this video is so wonderfully informative! I have had so much trouble with bras my entire life because no matter what size the rest of my body is, my breats are always large in comparison. Do the patterns or methods change much when making a bra for very large breasts? When I say large, I am talking about US cup size K.
I am yet to make a bra and I'm finding your videos a great source of help and encouragement to get me started. I will look at Series two and three before I go further and I'm sure to watch all again as a refresher. Do you have a forum where one can ask questions?
Go glad you found it ueful. Committing things to memory ceased to be an option for me a long time ago! Keeping notes in th eonly way forward (as.long as I can remember where I put the note!)
Thank you so much for your videos! I feel so much more confident about my first attempt to make a bra. I had bought everything but was scared to start lol. In answer to your request for other bras to show us... may I suggest the Pin Up Girls Ruby, Emerald Erin Black Beauty Bra or Orange Lingerie's Marlborough Bra? Thank you again for your fantastic tutorials!
I found your website and saw that you have a sew-a-long for Ruby. They videos are showing as unavailable. Is that because they are blocked in my country? I am in Canada. Thank you again for your generous teaching
I'm glad I've inspired you to make a start on your first bra 🙂 I will be making more videos featuring a variety of different bra styles so watch this space!
You are so very helpful . I was just wondering how do you actually get the measurements onto the pattern paper to cut it out ? I want to make my own patterns I just don’t know how to get it so I can cut them out .
The measurements featured are for determining your size with commercial patterns. If you want to draft your own pattern you will need a book or video to guide you. Many more measurements are needed for drafting!
Do you use the same needle throughout the bra, ie, the same needle for the cups and and cradle step and also the elastics and channelling? I get terrible skipped stitched on the channelling I think because of the difference in thickness under the foot 😩. I have now bought an uneven foot but have yet to try it.
I have decided to make my own as the stores charge too much for it. I feel so good making my own stuff and such rewarding. In mybcase im too small and stores do not have my sizes. Never.
Hello ... I have learned a lot watching your videos and I´d like that you keep loading more so pleas don´t stop making more videos of bras, corsets, lingerie !!! Regards !!!!
It doesn't take me so long either when I'm not trying to help other people to learn! The good thing about videos is that you don't have to watch them 🙂
U r a really an indelicated and unaducated. She is taking all her time, experience that probably you dont have since u r here to teach us and so many all over the world. She is giving detail s that u wont learn even in a good class. Shame on you. You need to work on your matters. I guess your mother is proud of u. AND if u are so bored why are you here?

great tutorial, thank you 😊
Could you do a tutorial on the pin up girls Sherri front closing bra pattern 💐
Yes I'd be happy to Anne. Probably not for a little while though, once I've completed the fitting tutorials :)
Oooh yes please🙏
Please i need a tutorial on how to daft the pattern 😩
Chart is great

Keep a piece of batting in front or just to the side of your machine to put your thread trims on - no messy thread all over everything
Thank you so much for your videos! I feel so much more confident about my first attempt to make a bra. I had bought everything but was scared to start lol.

Merci infiniment ❤❤❤❤❤
Make a BravoBella #2. Thank you.
Do you have a tutorial for that blue and black no wire sport bra? Pretty please
That's the Ingrid bra from PinUp Girls with a sports back. I plan to do a tutorial on that soon!
Thanku I have learnt a lot
It's my pleasure 🙂

Yes the same needle throughout - I just lengthen the stitch for the channeling.
@@fit2sew thank you
Can I order a bra pattern.and how do I get one.
Hi I'm really sorry but I do not sell the patterns.
hi

The pattern is not available as pdf. Sorry
How many people are here learning to make a bra b for them selfs ecause the ones they sell at the shops are too small ?
I have decided to make my own as the stores charge too much for it. I feel so good making my own stuff and such rewarding. In mybcase im too small and stores do not have my sizes. Never.

You speak to much, I find it boring, I made all my life bra's and it doesn't take me so long.
It doesn't take me so long either when I'm not trying to help other people to learn! The good thing about videos is that you don't have to watch them 🙂
