- How to Make a Bra - first find your wire size. Sounds easy put like that, doesn't it? This tutorial explains how an underwire SHOULD fit and demonstrates an easy and straightforward method of finding YOUR size.

from where can we buy this plastic body piece?
Does a bra wire not need to be sprung so slightly narrower than the breast crease as it will widen with tension of the bra?
The numbers are all based on size B bras. So say your a b34 then Youd use a 34 wire but if your a c34 you’d be a 32 wide. So I’m a c36 and I need to buy a 38 wire. Theres charts online. A d40 would be 44 wire.
That would depend whether you're using North American or UK standard cup sizes as a reference.
What causes the wires to buck outward at the top?

Brilliant video...thank you so much for this! Question though...how do you determine where the 'centre point' of the wire should be to line it up with the nipple?
There are charts out there to use for pattern drafting, but you can pretty much do it by eye using a grid. It's the very bottom of the curve, so there should be equal amounts of curvature either side of that point. Maybe I should make a chart available on my website! It's not vital though - just a useful double-check.
I love the way you explain everything. Where should the wire stop between the breast if you do not have any space? My breast are very close together and I can never get the bridge to sit close to my body. I don't know if its the wire or the bridge.
Thank you for your kind comments! It is possible to have the wires string on top of each other is there is not enough space between the breasts. But it is tricky to sew and can be uncomfortable. You may need to try a plunge style of bra with short underwires. This type of style is designed to sit lower. on the breastbone.

It's equivalent to the Regular underwires
What do you recommend for using a wire with a very pronounced breast bone?
I would definitely go with a metal wire (as opposed to plastic) so that you can bend it with your thumbs to match your shape.
