That was my very first motorcycle I bought one used back in 1978, I saved all summer and bought it for 500.00 dollars if I remember right. I was only 16. So much fun to ride. I remember it would kick back sometimes (ouch). Thanks for sharing.
I had a 72 Yam Enduro when I was 13. Then the 125 a few years later. I had a friend with the 360 just like they one you have... same basic color... He let me ride it once. Cool bike. I ride street bikes now. If I had somewhere to ride off road I would like a enduro again but I have no access to dirt now. I'm 65 now so the Yamahas and those fun times are all just memories now.
Hi there, those old bikes are just amazing even 50 years later. Parts are available and the bikes are easy to work on. I find these bikes for as little as 150.00. They are fun to ride on the back streets too. My suggestion is to try to find one to put together and go out and have fun on them again. No reason to just have old memories. Go make some new ones. The weather is about to get really nice. Wish I was there! I finally saw some things I recognize! I remember being on my Electra Glide back around 1996 and taking a picture of the bike with the falls in the background. I don't remember a State park but that was a long time ago. Looks like they need a Goose XING sign!

The state park you saw was Giant springs, always been there, just put up a big honkin sign. Yes those geese down there are a nusiance. If you run over one the libs will come after you.
I just bought this exact bike to restore. Barn find for $150. Hasn't run since 1984. But is in excellent shape. MY bike doesn't have what I believe is a Decompression valve under the left switch gear? Is it likely that the original owner took it off or could it have been made without one? Should I put one back on? What is the black lever under the pep cock valve? and why is it pushed down before starting the bike? And lastly do you have videos showing the full tear down/Restoration/and rebuild for this bike on your channel? I have never restored a bike like this. Thanks for your help. I sub'd and can't wait to get started.
Hey nice score and a wonderful price. Yes, they should all have the decompression valve. It should be on the front side of your cylinder, round rubber cover on it. They are hard to find, even the cable and lever are. It makes it so much easier to start. The only thing under the petcock that I know of is the choke on the carburetor, it helps start it when cold. At this time, I have not restored one of these, I do own the one in the video and work on it occasionally, and have some videos on the carburetor rebuild, I have also rebuilt the forks, not on this bike but just on a spare set, i put them on my 125 MX bike. I am getting ready to build a MX250 which is the same lower end. I have a video on the tear down of that engine. Thanks for the sub and for hanging out in the shop with me.
Hi Jack, yeah lots of folks come to Montana for the cool summers, most are surprised to find out that we have many days in the 100's. Especially here on high plains. At least we do cool of in the evenings.
Hi dale! Why does my yamaha rs100 2 stroke idle increase when it's getting hot or if I've just used it for a ride? The idle changes from 1200 rpm to 1600 rpm. Im still using a stock mikuni carburetor and iv'e cleaned it many times.
Hi there, I think the first thing I would do is check the crankshaft seals, then the intake to see if any air is being sucked into the engine. You can do what is called a leak down check, but these bikes are all getting old, most of the time I just change the crankshaft seals.... rubber just doesn't last 50 years very good.

Pull the baffle out and try again. Pipe could be plugged with carbon. TS 250 one of my all time favorites. You will enjoy it. Thanks for following the channel.

Wow you must have a newer engine in that there were no reed valves in 72. Think those started around 76 or 77. Unless an aftermarket one was installed.
@@montana2strokeracer not to familiar with the older bikes but the vins are different on the forks and motor and I can't seem to look it up to save my life I know the frame is a 72 but I don't know about the motor would be nice to knoe
Oh yeah the ducks down on the river, lots of them down there you have to watch for them. Fishing is great, dont do much anymore, but Montana has a lot of blue ribbon trout streams.

Last time I was riding in Montana (Billings for a BMW rally) it was 103 degrees. This looks like it might just be a little more pleasant.
