My rewound MOT would make 36VAC with as many turns of 12 gauge as I could fit. It would get decently warm just sitting with power on but would never get close to as hot as if it were arcing. Nice arcs there!
In the link above you'll see a better configuration of the zvs with 5+5 turns 680nF resonant capacitor. Input is the same (25V from a rewound MOT) but the MOT can work for a longer time thanks to two PC fans that cool it. At 36V arcs are awesome, but destructive for the flyback transformer because of the great amount of heat generated during operation, remember that flybacks are designed to support 60W, not hundreds of Watts (700W or more at 36V).Thank you for your comment.
