  • This is a non-Disney fanatic's review of the lesser of the two Tokyo Disney parks. Tokyo Disneyland is the 'classic' Disney park, featuring the castle, Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and more. We'll go in depth with some of the major attractions, what makes this park different, and what makes it similar to all the other Disney parks around the world.

I LOVED my time here personally. The staff is EXTREMELY nice, they'll even take your trash from you in your lines outside (at least they did for us), it was insane. The atmosphere is great too and I overall loved this park, and the original Disneyland is my favorite park that I've been to a lot. DisneySea is also amazing.

Weird theory: I think that Disney overestimates the times so people can enjoy the ride if the wait is under the estimated time. Source: It happened at Disney World when I went during Christmas.

    • @TheBaldr
      @TheBaldr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@rct3isepic Actually it is based off Walt Disney World's design because Disney World had just been complete a few years earlier and imagineers had all the plans... However because of space restrains they had to change thing up, and used Disneylands layout... Actually Disneyland used Tokyo Disneyland plans to upgrade some of spaces. The parks are always a reflection of each other, the imagineers use what works to upgrade all the parks the same. Also why they used Cinderella Castle instead of Sleepy Beauty Castle unlike Paris and Hong Kong.

Speaking as a fan of Disney parks in general over rollercoaster-heavy parks, I appreciated your candid review. I particularly enjoy the staff at this park. They are all SO COMMITTED to their jobs, which adds to the experience. I also do prioritize shows and parades - being a performer myself - when experiencing a Disney park, and Tokyo has some of the best, not only in terms of quantity but also in quality. I'm so glad you enjoyed the chicken curry! It's my favorite thing to eat there. And yes, I'll visit this park for Pooh's Hunny Hunt alone, any day. But I'm with you about DisneySea. That is the crown jewel of Disney parks. This castle park may not be your cup of tea, but I'm happy to say that at that ticket price, you maximized your experience there. Thanks for sharing your review. Great vid!

I know you don’t have a lot of Disney experience Taylor so let me give you some advice next time you go to Paris, Shanghai or Hong Kong: make sure you use your fastpasses for low capacity attractions or high wait attractions like the monsters inc ride/ fast pass is like free fast lane plus it can be annoying, make reservations in advance for dining options so you can plan your day around the rides, make an itinerary to maximize your day if you only have a limited amount of time, parades/fireworks are popular at every park (so go on rides during this time) Hope this will be helpful going forward :) as for the bathrooms I very much agree, because of the size of Disney and the theming, they can be sort of hidden, best way to avoid that is to get a map and familiarize yourself with the layout!

Tokyo's Tomorrowland at night is my favourite land actually. It's definitely a different vibe to some of the other Disney parks and when I first went here I felt like it was small and there wasn't enough. But actually it just seems to get more fun each time I go, the atmosphere is so nice.

When a ride utilizes FastPass they change the ratio based on how many people are coming through the FastPass queue at a time. If you have more people coming through FastPass at once they’re going to move that line quicker in order to keep it short.

@@CoasterStudios That's a shame. Well, at least when you do get a chance to go to France next year or in 2 years you'll be able to try out the new attractions in the Marvel section of WDS, the second park will feel less empty compared to how empty it is today. Also, at the time of your visit, a lot of classic rides such as Big Thunder Mountain were closed for refurbishment (they do this often around February-April).

@@andrewputnam2717 It was 10 years ago when it was basically owned by a knock-off Walt Disney company, who didn't really have that much money in comparison. However, over the last 5 years especially, when it was taken over by the Walt Disney company, they really have brought it from an average theme park resorts to one of my favourites. Its picturesque, the balloon is brilliant (and you can also get sneaky enthusiast shots of Frozenland and Star Wars Land), I find most of the hotels, apart from Newport Bay, to be some of the best I've ever stayed in, it's all on site apart from Davy Crocketts Ranch, and it has one fantastic park and one which is being changed for the better and by 2025 or 2026 I'm sure it will be a great second park. They also got better staff, made single rider queues on most rides, improved entertainment and overall guest experience.
The only sort of bad thing I think Disney did to Paris was rip out Dreams and replace it with Illuminations.
Overall I think in a few years time when Star Wars land is completed and most of the Studios is back open again, it would be a must visit for any enthusiast tbh

tbh, going to tdl without going on Splash Mountain should be a crime. If it's closed for refurbishment, don't go.

Every time I've been to the American parks I've found that the wait times have generally been overestimated. 60 minutes actually means 40 and 10 minutes means walk-on. I'm pretty sure they do it on purpose.

Can you do a video explaining the ideas that Eroupe, Japan, and American parks have in there parks and how it should be in the other countries, for example: the ice house at some Japan parks, should it be in America or Europe parks, how is better than Americas or eroupes version of it if they had one...

Poohs Hunny Hunt is not ALL that different from the ones in the California and Florida parks in content...The ride vehicles are dramatic different as well as some of the features (Tigger bouncing), but the basic ride is similar in content

I'd love to go back to Shanghai Disney. They have a weenie the Pooh ride there and I wonder if they're similar. I didn't get to ride it since we were a bit rushed. Amazing park though

The Pooh ride at Tokyo is unique. :) The Pooh rides at all the other Disney's are basically clones of each other

Sad to see they still have the huge line for Monsters Inc. I waited 2.5 hours since the fast pass line was always full. I second your opinion on Hunny Hunt. Imagine my disappointment when I rode the Winnie the Pooh ride at Magic Kingdom and expected the same experience.

They need to bring Pooh's Hunny Hunt to the USA in florida, clone it and it'd be so awesome. Next thing after they finish up on tron which is literally the only reason why I have any desire to go back to magic kingdom at all. And I do enjoy mine train coasters n'stuff and tomorrowland style things but not for 1 hundred billion dollars. Only will pay when they open tron, though I'll wait a few years to let the hype die down and see if they add a new dark ride around it or something.

Huge Disney fan here and the Magic Kingdom is my WDW home park. And in general one of my home parks as I live in Orlando. Based on you clips and review to me it is too similar to the Magic Kingdom here in Florida. I see myself wanting to Disney Sea more. If Disney Sea didn't exist it wouldn't be worth it flying across the US and the Pacific Ocean just for Tokyo Disneyland. I have yet to visit Disneyland in California (I am hoping to visit when I launch my Golden State Coaster Tour in 2022 or 2023) so Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland is better. I've seen images of Disneyland's Tomorrowland and based on my first impressions it looks on par to Disneyland's. But maybe that all changes. As of this I currently have no plans on going to Japan but is kicking around a California coaster tour in 2022 or 2023. I might have to push it back a year because to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year I was to visit Dollywood, Six Flags Over Georgia, and a return trip to Carowinds and in 2021 I was looking into visiting Texas. I am back at work so this might happen.
