  • Dunnellon Florida is a 40-45 minute drive from The Villages. Dunnellon is steep in history being a boomtown for the phosphate mining industry and its access to two major rivers. Today it hosts the Rainbow River aquatic preserve which is enjoyed by kayakers and paddle boarders. Blue Run Park is a launch point for these activities. The park also provides access to the some great hiking and bike trails. This video highlights biking the trails and is followed by lunch at Swampy's Bar & Grill.
Charlie and Jennifer Pryde have lived in The Villages for one year and in Central Florida for fifteen years. Our main activities in The Villages are biking, fitness parks, pickle ball, platform tennis, golf and swimming. We love to travel throughout Florida, the United States and internationally. Our TH-cam channel’s focus is on promoting a physically active lifestyle for mature adults, but we will also indulge ourselves in a good restaurant, bakery or watering hole that we find during our travels.

It is a beautiful place, so hopefully visitors are respectful. I am sure local businesses appreciate the customers.

Really enjoyed this video of Dunnellon! You both did such a wonderful job on this! From beginning until the end of this piece and capturing all of your details, maps, info, your bike ride, your visit to Swampys, very nicely articulated. I look forward to watching more of your travels and adventures. I'll have to check out your Cedar Key video as well. Y'all had me ready to on a bike ride, except I don't have a bike. Bummer. I'm only about ten minutes from Blue Run and have yet to go on the trail yet. Been to Swamps though, we have the Blue Gator for lunch and dinner as well which a lot of Fun all on folk enjoy too! We also have a Gyro restaurant, and Sweeties cafe which is really cute known best for having tea parties complete with dresses and hats, etc. We also have antique shops. Dunnellon is a real cute town. I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. 😊

Dunnellon is a great town. We will probably bring the kayaks next time to Blue Run and head up the river towards the spring.

Looks like a nice trail !
What type of tires you’s running ?

We were both running dual sport tires. The path and bridge are well paved, no gravel or dirt on the trail.
