My thoughts exactly. When first saw one of the videos, it put me right off. but the content, knowledge, and common sense is superb. I now look forward to Graeme's mad intros.
Spot on, the humour is awful and cringey and saying awesome and epic all the time is cringey too, but the actual content is really good, the videos are shot well and are really entertaining and the content is very informative and useful. TAfishing is probably my favourite fishing channel on youtube.
gotta say, theme tune is spot on haha. love all that cheesy guitar riff stuff too, amazing! i think we should all vote for this channel to be given airtime on tv and start paying these guys for entertaining us for free for so long with these totally awesome fishing video's. lets start a petition haha
Hey Graeme & Mike. I just wanted to say a big "thank you!" to the both of you. You've definately sparked my inner fisherman once again, I actually just ordered my license a couple of days ago. Keep up the good and proper work! Cheers from Denmark.
We thankfully have a season over here for 3 months, mid March to mid June, and it is supposed to allow the fish some respite from fishing pressure so they can have a good breeding year. However,we also have Pike that spawn earlier and Tench/Carp that can spawn later, depending on water temperatures.
If very small streams throwing in groundbait might spook them.Probably better to catapult loose maggots in to get them going. I never know when a small river turns into a stream. For streams I reckon barely a rod length wide.Often can be some surprises in them as many think they are too small to hold fish.
Float fishing means running the bait through just above, or lightly tripping the bottom.Legering a bait would mean it is either anchored in one spot, or bumped down a bit slower than the river flow, giving fish time to locate it.Legering would probably get the bigger fish on average.
You know you can legally carry a knife to cut baits and stuff stand up to them then you’ll be known as the rod father and you would wish they’d try to attack you
@@dylanmounsey7515 Not even. Just carry a knife and go full psycho on them if you ever get in that situation. Nobody wants anything to do with a crazy dude wielding a knife.
@@AlphaQHard if you need a knife to defend yourself chances are you’re going to end up getting hurt ... these odds only get worse for you when you add a knife into the mix. Sucks getting stabbed with your own belongings lol
To get them used to feeding on the maggots, as it would be unlikely they find them naturally, only by anglers throwing them in as an attractor. It is to get them feeding regularly on that particular bait. Could be any type of bait, not just maggots.
Small note on the bran - some petfood wholesalers don't stock it directly as (for animal feed reasons, not fishing ones) it has a relatively short shelf life. And it mainly comes in 20kg bags so make some space in your
6,000 subs in a year and a half.... most fishing channels have been going for a few years. Besides, one direction have millions of subscribers, does that make them the best band on youtube.....?!?!?!?! you decide. glad you like the vid, more like this coming soon
have you ever happened to fish the River Itchen in Southampton? There is a small river running through there with Chub, Roach, Pike and Salmon to name a few running through there! I'm new to the river fishing scene so I'm still learning but I managed to land a neat 2lb Roach yesterday with a single piece of sweetcorn on a size 10 hook!
I guess by "snag" for carp you mean what used to be called over here "snatching" ?? No,we don't do that as I would believe it is illegal,if not ,certainly would court a ban from any angling clubs. We don't use dynamite either,or bow hunt for them ,or poison. Some countries do,but we like to have a challenge by using just bait and hook.
Cheers for the tips. I'm well familiar with the famous ground bait! Is there any way to get those freshwater fish on a 7ft rod? Just ledger the bait at the bottom?
Hey guys, we have two canals here in Dublin city, and they run into suburbs but are known to throw up your typical freshwater species. Would a 7ft rod be sufficient to float fish? I notice most are around 10 or 12 foot. Also, have you guys ever done any city fishing on canals? I imagine there's something similar near london.
And also, what do you mean by "season"? Is it a shoening time for the fish to breed? How long is it? Here in Sweden we don´t have such a thing, the best pike fishing is during their breedingtime in shallow water in the archepelago
Coarse fish ? Most small streams will have Chub,Dace,Roach,Gudgeon and Perch as their base stock. Cleaner waters will have eels and brown trout. Slower rivers should have some pike.
awesome video :) i have a tip too - always cover the tip of the hook ;) i am no expert but i never hav cought a fish whit naked hook tip ;) sorry for my grammer i am from Latvia:)
Good tips video but could you please tell me what type of reel you are using as im new to fishing and looking for a reel but there is so many to choose from any advice would be very appreciated im looking to fish river mouths and rivers using light line and lures, spinner aswell as bait thanks
Finally done i highly recomend anything ngt for a first reel depends how big a reel depends on size about 20-50 size give or take a bit for a first reel
7ft would be too short. Good float rod would be 12 foot, even 13 foot for floatfishing. Find an area on a canal where fish are known to come from, and then prebait an area/swim at dusk. Just use mashed up bread etc, not expensive stuff. Check out our How to make cheap groundbait film. Lot of anglers are mailing us with success using it.Put mashed bread in first, then a can of sweetcorn over the top. Try it a couple of days later, with corn on the hook.
Probably OK for coloured water or pike fishing, but I would not fancy it for general use in clear water. Probably better to use it for sea fishing, but that's just my opinion.
it would be, there hasnt been any great fishing shows since hooked on fishing with paul young, i dont know if you got that show, but im in scotland and i loved that show, although we do have matt hayes and one or 2 others but they become quite boring as there isnt much choice. who knows though, with enough views you might get noticed one day. keep it up. ;)
No, not yet. Best to eat are sea fish ,as many freshwater fish have a muddy taste. Might be worth typing that same question into your search engine and add the word forums. You might find others asking the same thing that can help you.
Um are almost all fish edible? Like even a few small ones, or do they have to be big or something? And do you just prepare them like the rest, by cutting out the meat around the ribs? Please tell me
Some people eat trout, but I wouldn't even think of eating freshwater fish, they will be muddy tasting and full of bones. Go to the supermarket and buy some fresh sea fish which will taste better. In Britain all the anglers will generally return their catch alive to protect our stocks as unfortunately some people are killing all our fish, especially in rivers. Most clubs have a rule to return fish. Eat sea fish, not freshwater or we will have nothing left for future generations.
I live in the u.s. we usually only fillet big fisk. like catfish or bass. even cod. but pan fish we just remove the guts the head and the tail.. a spoon against the grain will remove scales. i reccomend leaving the scales on and grilling the fish the scales will peel off like paper starting from the tail.
Yeah, two Tarpon mounts. One was a 135lbs,the other 80lbs.Caught from Bud n'Mary's Marina, Florida Keys with Capt. Richard Stanzyck. Both measured for the casts, fish returned safely. Night fishing with crab in "monster alley"(Lignumvitae channel, ebb tide).you can't beat it !!

Possibly, :-) anyhow, what I see is a man that has a passion in sharing in his know-how on the art of fishing.
that's a good comeback.
the quality matters, not the quantity.
keep up the good work :)
If the canal is slow, and you have no wind drift try a float, if not ,leger, but use a lightweight bobbin so they feel no resistance when they take.

Except worm only on leger in many stretched of club waters. Worth looking into.
The larger hook goes in the bottom jaw and out through the top of the head.
