  • Starting to make some big changes to the Kawasaki z440 in this episode. I get some clip on handlebars and a front fairing, lower the forks, remove the clocks and construct some custom bodywork out of foam.

Fair play Jaz. Awesome. Can’t wait to see the finished bike.

Thank you. I’ll be doing a more in depth video on that very soon (I just have to edit it) but it will be on my other channel. The link for that is in this videos description so keep an eye out.

The first time I made bodywork I did paper machè as a base layer, then laid fiberglass over that and filler to smooth. Turned out really good.

I will admit expanding foam isn’t the best. I would’ve preferred to use just the insulation board but trying to get it to fit to the sides of a bike was too difficult.

Also look at a Paton S1 for some hints on styling and packaging

Almost recreating an flf body kit fairing.

Those fork legs are toast and getting them ground and rechromed will be difficult. Might be better to fit an upgraded front end. And the clip ons are upside down, also lowering the forks in the yokes will massively quicken the steering (making it nervous/unstable to ride) without lowering the rear

Yeah I’ll be replacing the forks. Not worried about the ride as it’s not gonna get ridden anywhere. It’s just a show bike. Are you sure about the clip ons? I don’t think you’re supposed to see the tightening thread on the top. Plus every pic I’ve seen on google has it the same way as mine?

@@EndlessRoadJaz from what I could see they were pointing up and not down. Also I have a mate with a complete zzr250 rolling chassis that will be going cheap that will give you front and rear suspension
