I’ve heard a lot of people shaming women for noise in labor. I’ve seen a lot of praising women for being quiet and not making noises, it’s discouraging moms and giving them another reason to be embarrassed in a room full of strangers. I’m over the judgement of society. Make noise it’s okay, it’s natural, if you feel the need to do it please do it.
Yes, it's 100% normal to make noises, and while some people find being quiet works for them I think the vast majority find their voice to be a necessary part of their labor!
I watch all of your videos and am so glad youre back to uploading again we are trying to have our first and I feel like your videos take a lot of the initial fear out of labour I once had so thank you for educating the masses ! ❤❤
I had a natural urge to vocalize during labor and birthing. It was relaxing, pain relieving, and the only thing preventing me from hyperventilating, but my nurses kept getting angry and yelling at me to stop and kept calling me a drama queen because I was being too noisy. It was really stressful and frustrating because I was just doing what my body was urging me to do naturaly.
Becca: I loved watching your videos before I had baby #5. It was the best labor because I learned so much from you. My labor nurse said at about 7cm dilated that I was singing the song of labor. I thought that was really sweet and cool! Thank you for educating me and all those I've shared your videos with.
Gosh thanks to your videos I kept telling myself, low and open and relaxed so I would wiggle/shake my jaw as I made an open-mouthed “ahh” noise as low as I could. My husband shared he was kinda scared/surprised to see me acting so different to what he’s ever seen but also amazed at how I was able to handle it all. It was honestly a little scary for me to be making so much noise as I’m typically someone who doesn’t make noise when I’m in pain. The things I learned 🤷🏻♀️😊
In the medical field the most common way to know if someone is in labor is a cervical check, but there are other more subtle signs we can see too! Check out my video "10 Signs of Labor Progression || It's WAY more than Dilation" for more info!
