    I recently had cesarean delivery. There was no pain at all when the operation took place. Even at the time of injection it felt like a normal injection. So don't worry if you too have been prescribed cesarean delivery. Even after my delivery happened I was able to walk on my own after 24 hours.

    I had an epidural & it took around 10 mins to feel its effects. The dilation proceeded quickly after that. Unfortunately, we had to get a vacuum assisted delivery because it made pushing difficult. Vacuum delivery does have its risks but make sure the hospital is a good one, in that case the risks can be minimised. Thankfully me & my baby are both fine after the delivery. But yeah due to vacuum, you might get more stitches (as was the case with me).
    I'm glad I took an epidural because I know I don't have pain tolerance. My gynae told me later that if I hadn't gotten an epidural I would've had to go through a c-section

  • @gdhanalakshmi4622
    @gdhanalakshmi4622 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was told that on taking this analgesia, my friend gave up her labour and was taken to c section. It inturn worsened the situation of whether she'll be able to deliver or die in process. That wa her testimony. Ofcourse things vary from person to person. Good doctor revealed the complete facts. Choice in patients hands

      Epidural anaesthesia and spinal anaesthesia are different...

    • @doctorgeo8459
      @doctorgeo8459 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Epidural is used for vaginal delivery using a low concentration of a drug (eg. 0.0625%). If the epidural is in place, and the vaginal delivery is converted into caeserian section, then the same drug is given in higher concentration ( 0.5%) through the same catheter, without using any other needle.
      However if you directly go for C section (epidural not in place) then, spinal anaesthesia will be given, using a finer needle, in single shot and different drug. Hope this clears your doubt 😊

    My horror story with epidural:
    First delivery: Epidural made me so numb that I couldn’t feel contractions and just couldn’t push and had to go for emergency cesarean.
    Second delivery: Syringe drained out a little spinal fluid and I suffered from severe headache apparently the fix suggested was another surgery but I refused.
    I think they will not publish ever, the side effects of this kind of intervention, but please don’t make it a necessity unnecessarily.

      @pooja9810 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You are commenting on every single video of epidural.If anyone wants to do that,let them do it.Question is if your epidural in first delivery failed,why did you opted for epidural in second delivery too? .You could have refused it .

    • @Anu4343
      @Anu4343 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@pooja9810 After first cesarean your chances of natural birth is close to zero . Some opt for VBAC, but mostly it’s discouraged. You want to know the fun fact - in my case the second epidural didn’t work (medicine was not that potent is what I heard in OT 😳) so they gave me chloroform through nasal mask and guess what that my baby drowsy too :-(
      There is nothing wrong in spreading information. I want mothers to make informed choice about epidural. There are so many positive remarks too about epidural here in the comment section, but you didn’t like my comment. Why don’t we like different opinions? And despite us being so closed minded we chose words like - ‘let them do it’…
      You should not attack a person by saying how dare you share your story everywhere. You should let them do it too :-)

After finishing the insertion of epidural the anesthesiologist asked me do i feel a little bit of pain relief and i said i didnot and then he left after that i asked the nurses why do i still feel pain and there is not even a slight difference in pain so she said that i am feeling that pain that's why its not working like what that doesnot make any sense. About at least 8 hours after delivery i said to my doc that the epidural didnt work and she said if that didn't work you will be still in pain. Well i had a terrible experience with epidural i think i will just choose a natural birth in second pregnancy 🥲

    Hi doctor. I had a ectopic pregnancy and had a salpingectomy recently. Can you make a video on how to regulate periods post surgery and how to reduce the risk of recurrent ectopic pregnancies further. And is it easy to conceive with one fallopian tube? How does salpingectomy affect my fertility in the future?
