I think this one is just extremely frustrating due to the polar extremes of amazing choices and poor choices that went into the design and I can only hope we get a design change for the potential next wave! Overall though, I have had a lot of fun with this figure and he is "worth" grabbing, especially if you get on sale ahah.
One thing about this line so far is that they look amazing, but the articulation (especially on Ichikawa) is a little lackluster in certain areas. Either way, I still have faith that Mina will be better and I hope the line improves. Very helpful review sir eighty-sixed
If you find the design lackluster then its not the figure's fault. If you've read the manga he gets to wear Numbers Weapon 6 which is badass. You have to wait for that if ever it gets a SHF.
I like the suit design, that’s why I said I like the aesthetics. I just wish it had better articulation, a pistol he can actually use and more hands. So that’s more of an engineering stance than the character itself.
As the Kaiju 8 Kafka figure is so good at posing, this is pretty disappointing. Mina looks to be built almost identically (obviously a little retooling in the chest, but the ab section still seems the same hard plastic) I hope when they get around to Hoshina (I hope they get that far) they've changed it up as bad articulation looks worse on a guy who fights with swords.
Yeah.. sure the extra's are a bit lackluster indeed..Still a good looking figure. Also too bad for the pricing on this figure. That Kafka face plate makes up for it! 😂😂😂.. Still gonna buy😅
Not as a good as Kaiju no 86 oh I mean Kaiju No.8😂 but honestly the bonus headsculpt is really amazing, I guess Bandai skimp on this figure plus the 8000 yen price is really high and that's doesn't help, curious what archive review your gonna do next!
That's a cranky little floofy cat you have there. 😆 I know they want Kaiju No.8 to sell so they priced it lower as an entry level figure but it makes the human figures less enticing with higher price for a smaller figure. I don't know much about the show but seeing as he's a military figure, it feels weird to see his legs being so far apart (as in he has wide hips and he can't close his legs but that might be due to the pose, correct me if I'm wrong). Also those are some squeaky joints which are signs of tight joint tolerance and you might need to be careful with them in the long run.

I’m really disappointed in this line overall, I feel like the articulation is really lacking on both figures.
It takes some tomfoolery but you can get really good articulation on kaiju no 8
