Funny ya joke about Godzilla's suit in the film while it's revealed that WarsGoji is the most sleek, lightweight and comfy suit in Godzilla production history. Tsutomu Kitagawa, Goji's suit actor through most of the Millenium era, had a good time during the production because of how much Toho's behind the scenes crew streamlined things with the molding and design. And it's no wonder the SH MonsterArts FW Goji fig is so dynamic

Fun fact: Motokuni Nakagawa, the suit actor for Monster X, primarily did suit actor work on tokusatsu shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. It's probably why Monster X is designed more like a tokusatsu villain rather than explicitly a Godzilla villain; greater mobility for better stunt work. Motokuni Nakagawa also has the nickname "Mr. Pink" due to how often he portrayed the Pink Rangers of Super Sentai.

The problem with final wars Godzilla (an even tamashi nations seems to realize) they used a really soft plastic for this figure to allow it to be incredibly posable, which in turn, makes the ball joints super easy to pop apart. It’s a rather big technical error for a Godzilla that people are going to want to put into crazy poses.
Not only is Godzilla’s design in Final Wars my favorite design for the big G, but Monster X is also my favorite kaiju. Thanks Jobby for this unintentional early Christmas gift.
9:01 I would love to see a Monster X figure that can transform into King Ghidorah. I'm an absolute sucker when it comes to transformable figures, so seeing a kaiju transform into another kaiju would be incredible.

I mean, take a look at figures like Freedom Leader, Challenger, Dragoon, that 3rd Party version of Dark of the Moon Megatron, just to name few. And all of those figures were reviewed by Jobby.
Wonder if tamisais nations will ever make an Orga figure, and you can make Orga have his open mouth, and have it so you can make Orga look as if he has absorbed more of Godzillas dna.

And I wouldn't be surprised that, if they managed to accomplished it, that figure would be very expensive. But then again, knowing Jobby, he'd probably sell his innards to buy it. He did with that Optimus Prime figure that cost nearly $500, so he'd probably do it again.
As someone who got the 2019 King Ghidorah Special Color Version, I 100% feel the COPEZILLA Also the feet on my Monster X just won't stay on so the stiff forked tail is sort of acting as a 3rd leg. Even took a tumble off the top shelf after a foot malfunction and even after landing head first from a 7ft drop the thin spikes were not damaged. So can at least attest to the plastic quality for it's durability for that price
High end collectibles may not be meant for play, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to withstand it. Then the quality of the toy overall would improve! Not to mention for the prices of these figures you /should/ be getting more accessories and better quality
I got Monster X a few weeks ago when Amazon dropped the price to $80! For $50 less, I could DEFINITELY make that call 😭 I really want a Final Wars Gigan, but I also don't wanna shell out nearly $150 for it. I decided to trade in a bunch of old figures at a local Collectible Store and am definitely getting one of the Gigans they have next time I drop by... now I just gotta track down a Final Wars Goji.
Another note: as an airsofter we have noticed some oversea's goods have been jacked in price despite being sold to the EU or even the asian market at a lower price. Same can be said about goji, as the SHMA line has an increase in price too without justification. Some items noticable were the Northeast Uzi, the tec9, some other gbbrs that would go for $440 now have a price for US buyers as $599 which is outrageous

I seriously think it’s hit or miss on the Minus One Monsterarts. I’ve seen a lot of QC issues but my copy is fine. Paint is where it should be. No loose joints. The paint looks good and I’ve seen pictures of copies with BAD paint. The price kind sucks for US buyers but I got mine off of HLJ. Fingers crossed Jonny’s copy isn’t a QC nightmare.
Monster X is a Godzillaverse kaiju I thought would NEVER get the Monsterarts treatment. Also disappointing that Monsterarts continues their trend with so few accessories. King Ghidorah '91 really spoiled me in that regard with his three beam effect parts and that specialized stand for them.
Surprised the Final Wars Gigan didn't show up in the size comparisons. I've avoided Monsterarts for a few years now since they weren't in my budget, I got two in 2017 and that's as far as my collection went, but I did end up receiving the Showa Gigan this year as a gift (it's my favourite non-Godzilla Kaiju and my favourite design for him), and ended up finding the Hedorah figure for a decent price too. I so want a figure of the Minus One design, but man that Monsterarts paint job and head sculpt just look... off, fingers crossed Hiya toys comes through. I found it up for pre-order at a reduced price, which is tempting but I think I'll instead go for the '54 rerelease, that figure always looked great.
Overall both figures are pretty fanastic, not exactly a mut habe for me but one day I could see myself at least getting the Final War Goji. And amazing review Jobby. Also I love your cats ❤
Nah I’m extremely disappointed, mainly in monster x though No effects, no props, no alternate body parts, If you look at say the old space Godzilla, super mechagodzilla, kiryu, mecha king ghidorah, gigan, were all godlike in quality and things provided, now wtf has this line become but a mess of figures that have nothing but the figure and or half of them being horribly sculpted by comparison, while still being same price of 100-500$
Great review as always Jobby! Bandai keeps pumping out products but quality took a dip and it's sad because those new releases are really expensive with mediocre paint jobs.

I love my SH monsterarts shin godzilla as it’s one of my favorite designs but it’s still a little disappointing that it comes with zero accessories. Especially considering he has one of the most unique atomic breath effects it would’ve been a nice inclusion. Guess I could always sell a kidney to get the version that comes with the effect parts.

I think this may have been my first Godzilla and first Godzilla film back when i was young and not immune to propaganda. Now every year for new years i start the movie early enough to hear "this is operation; final war" right as it strikes midnight. Considering how much more harrowing every fcking year has been since I've started it just gets funnier and funnier every time i do it. Good review, Uncle.

My favorite Godzilla movie and my favorite design, I love the posability on Finalgoji and it's my favorite SHMA the lack of accessories is a pain but for the range of motion and beautiful sculpt I can't get enough.
Awesome Review Jobby! I've waited years for them to make a Final Wars Goji and...i was really disappointed. My Copy just fell apart everytime i breathed at it wrong. And it was so annyoing to handle that it killed my Fun with SHMA, especially looking at Hiya's Products. Their prices are ridiculous and not fair. Hope Hiya becomes the New Standard.

Honestly Monster X's tail could've been entirely bendy wire and rubber from the ass to the tips. It's so thin, making it ball jointed all the way down honestly doesn't make sense from a posability standpoint.
In my copy of Godzilla,that tiny little ball joint in the mouth broke off,and I don't know how,but with some super glue now the jaw doesn't fall off like before ,when it was "perfect from the factory"
Id love to see a final wars watchthrough and review, it was a big part of my child and i can point to it a being the reason im a big godzilla fan to this day. That and ‘98… i recognize its flaws but i still love it.
Final Wars has been my favorite since I was old enough to comprehend movies. I've even met Don Frye (twice!) lol - you bet your sweet ass I dropped the big bucks for these two - and Gigan, where all the budget *actually* went to. Holding out hope for the Milennium Mothra so I can recreate the entire final battle!

In my copy of Godzilla,that tiny little ball joint in the mouth broke off,and I don't know how,but with some super glue now the jaw doesn't fall off like before ,when it was "perfect from the factory"

The reason 2004 Godzilla joints pop off is because you are maxing out the joint, which isn’t bad. The dude is a posing KING!

Id love to see a final wars watchthrough and review, it was a big part of my child and i can point to it a being the reason im a big godzilla fan to this day. That and ‘98… i recognize its flaws but i still love it.

Final Wars has been my favorite since I was old enough to comprehend movies. I've even met Don Frye (twice!) lol - you bet your sweet ass I dropped the big bucks for these two - and Gigan, where all the budget *actually* went to. Holding out hope for the Milennium Mothra so I can recreate the entire final battle!
