I think a lot of it is, attention spans, the time to edit, and do people really want to dig that deep. For me it’s yes, but it does require more work. My lessons on my website are like this. For TH-cam I don’t do too many break downs like this as it’s just very time consuming.

I love these because each groove includes at least one hand/accent combo that I’ve never used. For example, ghost note on snare with kick. I automatically play accented right hand with kick. Snare buzz with regular right hand. I’ve never tried to buzz with any other drum being hit. These develop all the right stuff to get ready to play anything!

First, let me say how great it is to have you back for some lessons and inspiration! Always something to look forward to during these times or any. Second, minor glitch in that you say the bass drum in the first example is on the "and" of beat two (8:08). But the notation (and your playing example) clearly shows the bass drum on the "uh" of beat two. And I feel awful for pointing that out! Third, Groove 4 almost sounds like a SOCA groove if you open the hi-hats on the upbeats! Thank you, brother. New room looks and sounds great, too. And please bust that new snare out for us in a future video. I can't tell what it is, but it looks like it has a RIMS mount on it. Sounds absolutely amazing tuned down for Grooves 2 and 5. Peace.

I'm working on a few goals right now, but I already know that I'm going to be working on ghost notes next. Saving all these exercises for then. I've been trying to learn the beat to Haboglabotribin' and keep getting caught up on the ghost notes. These are perfect!

Awesome, bro! I was wondering for a long how would be your approach on a reggae beat. The whole lesson is great but the 3rd groove is on fire! The studio is sounding and looking beautiful, btw.
What I would have like to seen is slow, medium and fast version of the grooves! I say this because the relationship between the upstroke and downstroke changes at different tempos, at a slower tempo you have time to raise your hand higher on the upstroke but at faster tempos you don't have the time to raise your hand that far up as you do on the slower tempos! Its a much smaller motion Please don't think I am hating, as I think your a great player and this lesson is awesome!

I literally do this out of the goodness of my heart. TH-cam is more a scratch the surface kind of vibe and for me. Super in depth stuff should be things that people invest in. While I LOVE sharing, sharing doesn’t always equate to paying my bills. So if you really dig what I do, dig into my site and maybe invest a little into the craft as I feel it will benefit/help show some value into the art of education and learning. Excellent work as usual. Hey Carlito, is it me or you lost some serious weight ? Anyways, love the video effect on the prep stroke. My advice would be to expand on this because from my experience, hand technique is deeply rooted into those different strokes and one can easily plateau because of bad interpretation of strokes. With this kind of visual effect, there's no way you can get it wrong. Guess it's more work for you but a great addition as it is. Kudos to you.

I’m actually quite well! This week was super busy though and haven’t had time to do much.
