Hey Adam love the videos mate. Being an Aussie and doing my first ever trip to Thailand about a month ago, it was so hard saying good bye to an amazing Philipino friend that I met in Bangkok. You are exactly right the connection is so intense due to the short time you have available with each other and the good byes were heart breaking for the both of us. She is back in the Phillipines now and I do hope to catch up with her some time in 2024, but with commitments and family here in OZ it’s not so easy. I wish the Oz government would make it a little easier for tourist visas to be issued. Keep up the great videos mate and hope to catch you filming on the streets one day and I can say hi.

Enjoying the time with a local female makes for a fantastic trip! I met a couple PI girls online that were really excited to welcome me to their country; promised to tour me everywhere and show me great beaches and such. But I got turned off when they asked how much I was going to pay them per day for their time!! PI girls love money more than life!

philippine dish, in general, is a modern fusion it's a mix of malay, indonesian, chinese, spanish, american and mexican influences that's why the originality of filipino dishes were slowly diminished by the amalgamation or the infusion of these various influences filipinos are actually fond of simple dishes unlike majority of southeast asian or east asian countries with loads of garnishes (spices & herbs) for filipinos -- the simpler, the better however, if you're really fond of spicy ones, bicol region has the spiciest dishes of all yes, each province or region, actually, has its own idiosyncracies or different style of cooking & presentation just like in other countries
Good explanation. And i'm glad you didn't anymore make the effort to convince Keis that PH food is better or even at par with other Asian cuisine. It's useless coz after watching all of Keis' previous trips to PH and hearing about all his comments on PH food, he just simply prefers Thai and other Asian food. Like me, i prefer Japanese and Chinese over Korean food. To each his own. We all have individual preferences. And nothing to be ashamed of. There are hundreds of countries in the world and only a few are known for their cuisine. We can't corner every market. Atleast we have some of the best beaches and dive sites in the world. We even won World’s Leading Beach Destination and Dive Destination in 2022 at the 29th World Travel Awards. Also, i think most people would agree that Pinoys are friendlier than most other Asian nationalities. So we have a lot to be proud of. :)
Yes, Saying goodbye to a Girl I care about. and having to leave Thailand on my last day of vacation are the worst ! I have a friend that was living in Thailand and was suddenly ill with Ulcers. The Dr. Recommended he move to the Philippines. NOT because all the food is bland they just have more Non-spicy BUT still flavourful options. The Spice or Salt to taste/ all the Hot and yummy condiments are on the table. he is doing much better now.

Just because they're still friends doesn't mean she isn't heart broken that it's not more. And I don't say this as a criticism to Adam-I say this from my own experience, living the same lifestyle. The same kind of sadness and mixed feelings that Adam feels when saying goodbye, may well be 10x stronger for the girl in many cases, particularly if she is younger and less experienced with such transient relationships. I'm not saying it's unethical, as Adam seems to communicate his intentions upfront and treat the girls well-but I do think heart-break is still very common in these kinds of situations.
Finally Back Home. I will Watch Again. I still remember him saying he would travel every month, never happened and absolutely no surprises to me. Absolutely love roasted pig, some of the absolute best comes from Chinatown. I am ONLY interested in 1 and not the other 1. Hands down not the same, completely different like saying DAY AND NIGHT is the same OR Chicago and Kabukicho are the same. 1 Word Outstanding
The combined flavors of sweet, spicy, and saltiness is the staple of the majority of Thai dishes. Larb and Pad Krapow are some of my favorite dishes as well. Once your palette has adjusted to Thai food, it's harder to make the adjustment to other dishes that have a lesser explosion of flavors.

That's one reason I like Bangkok so much. Not only do they have awesome Thai food, but the Japanese and Korean food is awesome as well. My wife is Japanese so she knows all the good Japanese restaurants to check out.....stuff you can't get here in the US

As somone who is married to a filipina, owner a place in the Philippines (before i got married), i am conflicted about Filipino food... Its very hit and miss... Modern Filipino food is amazing, but not a fan of traditional Filipino food... Can be far too fatty

You don’t really go anywhere nice in the Philippines. Palawan is one of the most beautiful places on earth but you seem to avoid it. Also, you dont stay in a nice part of Manila. Stay in downtown Makati. It’s clean and nice but not soulless like BGC
But like you said BGC is soul-less I stay right by Hulo, if you have been there it’s one of the most vibrant and cool parts of the city (for what I like) the street parties on the weekends with locals are so much fun! I leave the camera at home and enjoy the amazing Filipino hospitality 😊
You really cannot compare Filipino food to Thai food because they are totally different. You seem to be into food that uses A LOT of spices and it makes Filipino food bland to you if you will compare. Filipino food is simple as it does not use a lot of spices hence the taste is simple as well. I’m just curious why, with those Filipinos girls you are able to meet, that they were not actually able to introduce you to the proper Filipino food. I see you eating in places that does not actually represent the proper Filipino cooking. These girls do not do justice in showing you our proper cuisine. Look for the right person who can help you discover our cuisine the right way. Because as I see in your vlogs, you barely scratch the surface.
2 things here, firstly you only see a very small amount of what I do and eat as i only film a couple times a week. For comparing the food “simple” food can be good, but is never going to match up to the food that is more complex and passed down and developed through generations from a family recipe. Like I said, I enjoy the Filipino food, it’s just on a different level to most global cuisine.
If you like Thai food and have adjusted to Thai culture you wouldn’t like PH food. It seem that way for many people I’ve met. I dont like turmeric and a lot of spices. I’m good with my vinegar, soy sauce, onions/garlic taste.
You did a great job explaining your relationships with these girls you meet. You're doing what you love and meeting people. Keep rolling with it.
Your summary of Philippines food is spot on, some good food, not as many choices as other countries in SEA, and nothing mind-blowing
