- This is part one of a two part video showcasing the complete set of the original Marvel Team-Ups. Here I show and talk about issues 1-75 plus a crossover and the Giant-Size Spider-Man issues that I consider part of the series.
Terrific video. I loved it. I have quite a few of these comics myself, but not nearly as many as you showed here. This video is making me extremely nostalgic right now. I feel like I want to go pull all of my copies out and enjoy them all over again. Thank you for sharing these books with us. This was a real treat. I appreciate what you’re doing here. Within the last year, I've started collecting the old Marvel Team-Up issues... I was a big Spider-Man kid growing up, but he already had 3 to 5 on-going titles (early 90's), so I didn't look for back-issues outside of the big titles. But I love these Team-Ups because that's where you see Spider-Man going outside of his New York setting the most. I'm loving digging these up.
Nice. You are right in that MTU out Spidey in places and situations that were very different than his solo titles. You also got a taste of other Marvel characters that often didn’t have their own series. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍
Great video, Roger. I haven't read any of the Marvel Team-up issues. I have the Marvel Essentials trades, but haven't yet read them. I fear I have too many books and not enough time.
Comic Mag Musings Haha... yes that is a problem collectors/readers run into. I just take it in small chunks and eventually I’ll finish. It usually takes me less than 15 minutes a comic to I can read 5 in an hour and set aside an hour a days. It would take a month to finish this set at that rate but it can be done.

Excellent stuff as always. Loved the MTU books. After my world got turned upside down with my 1st comic (Fantastic Four 155), one of the next books I got was MTU 31. The 30s and 40s were such a great run (my mind was blown with 41-44). It's so nice to find someone else who realizes that the Giant-Size Spiderman title was a giant-size MTU. Holding my breath for Part 2. 👍

GS Spider-Man was definitely GS MTU but with a more attractive title.

Those are some very nice books Roger, where's the beef! Going back to the Salem witch trials with Scarlet Witch sounds like a good read. I only have 4 or 5 issues from this run, will have to get more. I love those Giant size Spiderman books too, but I do not have any of those. Look forward to part 2, great video!
Fishin Freaks Comics That Salem story arc is what prompted me to study the time period. It has a bleak ending but appropriate historically.

Comics Altruism Thanks so much buddy. I was such an obsessive completionist in my younger days I would drive around town to up to ten ships until I found those last few issues. It paid off as now I can make these kind of videos.😁 Most of these are not that expensive btw.

First off, I have no idea how anyone gives this a thumbs down! Second, I can’t wait for Spider-Man and Beef! 🤣😂🤪 Third, a ton of these issues looked legit. Loved the early Spider-Man Ghost Rider. The fact that Hercules moved manhattan back to its proper place makes me want to read it! The time traveling issues look exciting and I wonder what 2019 looked like to them back in the 70’s! Great stuff Roger! Watched the entire thing captivated!

Good, good stuff, Sir. I always enjoyed Team-up. I always thought it was cool and bizarre in those instances when Spidey wasn't in the book.

I love Marvel Team-Up! It was one of my favorite books, especially because in the beginning it followed Spidey's own book (I especially remember the month after Gwen Stacy died #12) I loved the Cat as well! The Cat made her final appearance in Giant Size Creatures #1(1974) and as you know was transformed into "Tigra!" Issue #13 with Captain America: I was heading back from a 3 week vacation in Colorado with my family when I picked up this in a "Marvel Multi-Mags (Remember those?) and since The Grey Gargoyle was the first villain I had ever read in Cap's own title(Captain America #139-142) I absolutely dug it! #15: A favorite of mine as well (Loved the EARLY Ghost Rider appearances) #39 & 40: Loved the whole Crime Master/ Big Man retro story! #41-44 was a frustration for me since issue 44 was not to be found in my paper store and it took me a year before finding it! I remember when #53 was a hot book because of what you mentioned! Just a great video and watched it (At work) On Thanksgiving morning 2019!
AFTA Comics You have really built a great case for the awesomeness of this series. There was something memorable about every issue. I certainly remember the multi-mags as I got several at my local Woolworth when I was a wee lad.

Cool stuff mate, I am after these too, they do seem to go on forever haha I remember as a kid I always thought these were all just self-contained one-shots, how wrong I was!! Now I have a few more I found there were longer arcs, also with Two-In-One as well!! I have that Giant-Size Spidey 3 as well, never thought of it being a part of that run but it makes sense. That 4 with the early Punisher is a bit of a pricey book now I think. Cool comics and commentary mate

Yes, that GS 4 can get a bit pricey... I was lucky to pick it up for a few dollars many years ago.

thegreyman Yeah Grey... I’m pulling for you buddy. I wouldn’t worry about COPPA in the UK. My understanding is unless there is a treaty empowering them the US laws can’t get to your money.
TH-cam can still shut you down but no fines for you especially if you are not monetized as they fine based on profit.

I loved Marvel Team-Ups. Due to the anthology format in Brazilian comics, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary running a two-part story in the same month. So Spider-Man's chronology would be balanced by using MTUs as fillers. But I preferred them because there was always an extra hero. During that phase in the 70s and 80s, Marvel Team-Up actually killed the idea that Spider-Man was supposed to be a loner. He ended up meeting practically every other existing superhero in the Marvel Universe and gained experience against their opponents.
Paulo Costa Hmm... that is interesting Paulo. It makes sense continuity-wise though.
Spider-Man was so popular that Marvel used that to bring exposure to others. He did indeed work with others... sometimes by coincidence but usually very effectively.
