    Thank you. Elen has woven her magic into my life and sculptures lately. I knew nothing of her until a few days ago when 3 independent people mentioned her after seeing my figures. Your film has helped me understand a little more.

    Elen of the ways entered my life, I had a dream of her and had no clue who she was. I asked a group, I'm a member of on a Facebook. It mirrored the dream in your story very closely.

    Brilliant discussion of the connections between a Celtic goddess (Elen) and the classical goddesses (Diana, Hekate, and when you continue thinking about it, Artemis)... Absolutely brilliant.

    In mid wales we have The Elan Valley. Since my recent research in to Elen, I am now wondering if The Elan valley is associated with Elen or at least associated with the ancient deer tracks/landscape.
    I had a little research & Elan seems to mean bright or shining one.
    Elain is welsh for fawn, Elenydd is plural for the word Elain.
    There is an area in midwales called Elenydd : The name means the "area adjoining the Elan", which river name probably arises from Welsh elain, meaning fawn or hind; -ydd is a suffix denoting a territory.
    The words all seem to interconnect & weave together, they seem to connect to the shining Elen of the mabinogion as well.

    I've recently been contacted by Elen. I had never heard of her, I was just contacted by a woman with antlers. I've been contacted by her multiple times since. I've been trying to find out as much information as I can which is why I watched your video. When you got to the information about the reservoir, my mouth was literally agape. She showed me that reservoir. In my mediation we were standing on one of the hillsides facing it and in my mind I said that looks similar to the Ashokan reservoir (where I grew up). Only for you to show me the photos in this video of where she took me. Could have knocked me over with a feather.

    Thank you for this inspiering video! I just got back from my first visit ro Glastonbury and during a healing sound bath at the Goddess temple Elen showed herself and gave me important insights. Inerestingly I dreamt ladt year of a deer who I run beside, hunted by a wild boar. I hid in a small cottage and after a while the deer transformed into a beautiful woman with red hair and a green and golden dress and I let her into the cottage befire she continued running further along the path. I have interpreted her as Artemis/Diana and simultaneously through teachings by an Swedish Avalon priestess called Korpmor/Margareta Nobell, I became drawn to Elen of the Ways. But until now I've never heard someone talk about them as maby being aspects ofone and the same goddess! 🙏💚

    This video is absolutely fascinating. Just yesterday, I was reading a book about Rhiannon, and I came upon a book on Elen of the Ways and something clicked!!! Also interesting that the place of Elen, Segontium, is next to the Isle of Anglesey, which was probably the ancient isle of Mona, which was associated with druids. Diana / Hecate are both associated with witchcraft and magic, I see a connection there :)

      Agreed, I'm thinking that Hecate/Diana to the Celts was Nemetona (she of the sacred grove). My opinion, rather than evidence.

    Elen - Helen? Interesting that in Hebrew Ela is reason, cause or pretext (עלה ) or goddess (אלה ).

  • @HunteSnoden
    @HunteSnoden ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Elan in French means moose or elk regardless of gender. And Diana is the Roman contemporary of the Greek Goddess Artemis not the Goddess Hecate who was a Titan (Artemis was an Olympian). Just to avoid confusion 😊

    • @theoghamgrove7169
      @theoghamgrove7169  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is interesting about the French, thank you. Yes Diana to Artemis, but I also understand that 'Diana Triformis' was a Roman understanding of Hecate. I am not aware of Artemis being threefold like 'tri-via' and triformis.

      Fair can mean fair as in a fairy woman. I wouldn't say the welsh are known for dark hair and olive skin, I am welsh & I know no one with that complexion.
      I know what you're referring to though, roman depiction of the tribes of wales. Or at least that's where I remember reading about that.

    I fully expect this to be downvoted and argued with, and that's fine. We are all entitled to politely disagree. Politely being the operative word. I know how emotive it can be when someone disagrees with our belief, connection to a deity etc.
    I really wanted to like this video, but there is so much misinformation peddled as fact. Some of the links made are tenuous at best and I'm so very disappointed. I'm sorry but this is dreadful. There's a lot of information he gives that's spurious and feels like personal gnosis or opinion. The sources for factual information in his books don't always tally with what he writes.
    Take the antlered figure for example; it's a very shamanic image of an older woman seated in a seidr position for a specific ritual. It could also look very like an older shamanic woman holding a staff and tambourine, especially with the crossed over garment. I think this being described as a Goddess is such a stretch that it feels like the video is trying to make older documents, findings, archaeology etc fit the opinion.
    The Mabinogi only ever consisted of 4 branches. The other medieval books were added into the Mabinogi because scholars needed to fit them in somewhere and the only place they could make them fit was to add them to the Mabinogi. Even then, they only added them to the Mabinogi because they were written down during the same period. It's like adding the hunger games onto the Harry Potter series and saying it's all a connected set of writings.
    Historians and archaeologists state the Elan river was named because of the course it takes. Not because of Helen, Elen or anything else.
    I give up writing more on this video. The Hekate information was a step way too far for me. This guy is like a crazy conspiracy theorist pagan. The leaps and links are no different than the Pizzagate and MAGA lunatics.
    I'd suggest people research and read historical facts for themself rather than accept this video as accurate. The facts within this are scant and I'd implore people to look into it all themselves or else misinformation will keep being accepted and spread.

    • @theoghamgrove7169

      Firstly, 'The Mabinogion' is a collection of old Welsh stories, compiled and named as such by Lady Charlotte Guest - the four branches of the Mabinogi are just a part of her collection - and do not negate the story of the Dream of Macsen Wledig. Elenydd is the centre of the triangle formed by the three Roman towns built for Elen in that story - Caerleon, Carmarthen, and Caernarffon - check it out for yourself. If you really had read my books, then you would be very clear that I 'share ideas', I do not claim any facts or dogma. the River Elan, for example, means the river of the young deer; it is not an academic fact that it means 'elbow', to describe its bending shape. I do not think that it is fair to equate me with MAGA, I do not even live in America.
