Well said and great suggestions. Would never sell our place, too important to have a base. Thanks 🙏 😊

    Especially tip #1
I cringe when I read people are selling their home to fund their lap life😖😖
Nothing is worth doing that !!!

I have heard so many stories relating to selling everything up and or keeping a home base. I know of one lady crying in caravan toilet block having the realisation she had no home to go back to. The couple had sold everything to travel full-time with no means of getting back a home base, i.e. a house/flat where their friends and family lived. All they had was a caravan and car. It crystalized in my mind how we wanted to travel. I think your advice is realistic and should be considered by anyone thinking of full-time travel. As you say, “Think of your end goal”.

Well said! You've actually done it and you're in touch with reality (and realty).
Travelling around Oz in a van is not all camels on Cable Beach Instagram moments and selling up to fund your trip is risky. It's damned expensive to set up for your trip and when you're on the road, your funds leak every time you open the van door!
Best wishes to anyone planning their trip. Do it as soon as you can but approach it realistically.
Your tips are spot on. Thanks.

Haha, you're absolutely right! Traveling in a van isn't always glamorous like those Instagram moments. But hey, the leaks and expenses just add to the adventure, right?

Great suggestions. Have been pondering a number of these, so your thoughts are timely reminders as we are still in the planning stage.

NEVER sell up to travel. At the very least, down size and rent your house out for income. NO ONE wants to be in a van if your crook and illness happens when you least expect it.
