I love Nindigully Pub. Everyone I know who has been there loves it too.
The dogs are local town dogs, you will discover that in many remote communities. I travelled around a lot of remote communities looking after school air conditioning, and you will be amazed at how many dogs follow the kids to school and will sit there all day until school finished. Bore baths do get hot, some hotter than others but they do wonders for the body. Safe travels.
Thank you 🤩🚐🙏we really appreciate the support and the information 😊
I'll have to give that film a looksee. I couldn't down that burger that's for certain. I'd be wary around a pack of dogs too. You just never know. Definitely a nice warm bath in the morning. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed it.
Thank you Chris 🤩🙏🚐so glad you enjoyed our adventures
The showers are fine. Loved it there
Hello Sandy and Tim. Now im going to watch paperback hero. Free showers our type of place👍. Thanks for sharing have a good day.
Thank you 🙏🚐🤩yep it’s not a bad film 🎥 😀
Dirranbandi was the fictitious home of LES NORTON, a character in a series of Australian books by the late Robert G Barrett. Set in the 70s about a country boy who comes to Sydney and ends up as a bouncer on the door of an illegal casino. Well worth a read...or if you are driving, played as an audio book. Great author, fun stories...sad there will be no more of them
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐that’s really interesting 😊I’ll give that a look
There's a classic Australian animated series called The Big Lez Show. He has a brother Nortan. I believe they're based on this character.
Well worth a watch on TH-cam
@justsayin899 that’s cool thanks I’ll check it out 😊
We were there 2 weeks ago and had the best time, felt completely safe.
The Baths... fantastic to see the town has the foresight to have a disability ramp in the baths.. Not many towns give a second thought to the disabled... Well done town..
Thank you 😊🙏🚐yes totally agree
Very very cool to see the emu chicks in the wild. When we did our lap there were parts of central Oz and WA where emus were the most prolific wildlife but I don't think we ever saw chicks. We love stopping at the outback roadhouse pubs like Nindigully (we haven't been to Ninidigully though) and lived on a diet of burgers and bacon and egg rolls. None were 1.5 kgs but. 😂 I didn't realise Paperback Hero was so long ago. I remember Hugh was famous for singing and dancing in stage musicals up till then. We were in South America in 2000 and they had the stage musical Oklahoma on the tele starring our very own Hugh Jackman. 😂 It is a shame you didn't feel safe at Goodooga. There will be other places that may feel a little sketchy. We stayed at the pub in Halls Creek and they had a big fence around the pub grounds and security guards at the gates. I dunno if it is still like that, it was 20 years ago. Nice pub but. 😂
Thank you Shane 🤩🙏🚐yep there’s been a few sketchy places we’ve visited usually If it doesn’t feel right we’d move on but it was a long day of driving and we we’re nowhere near anywhere better and we wanted to visit the artesian pools so we were stuck in an awkward situation 😀sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t 🤩🚐
Good to see you're getting out there and broadening your knowledge of Australia. Not knowing where you are going to get your next lot of water, long way between drinks out there
Thank you 🤩🚐🙏yes it’s a steep learning curve 😊
Haha and I feel the same about the stray dogs 🐕. Again great video. Really enjoy watching your travels. 😊
Thank you Karen 🤩🙏
Hi there. I’m sorry you felt unsafe at Goodooga, but we’ve stayed there numerous times and never had any issues. The locals will come up most nights to enjoy a soak, just like the tourists do. In the group we shared the pool with were a number of local school teachers who had a vested interest in the progress of their students. There may or may not have been a few dogs, but I can’t remember, sorry. Thank goodness the council has upgraded the camping area to bitumen paving, or after a small amount of rain, the clay pan turns into a bog hole; it’s a huge improvement.
Interesting fact; when we were in St George last week, preparations for the celebrations were afoot for the 25th anniversary of Paperback Hero at Nindigully last weekend or this weekend, I think 😊
I hope you enjoy your artesian adventure; October is when some of the baths are closed for the season, and as you’ve found out, some have odd hours. And Lightning Ridge was the hottest we’ve been too. Happy travels. 😊
Been out that area million times in bd cattle truck have a bath in bores with blue healers if their was something spooky would have alerted me i think u hav to many wiskeys dream pilliga monster near
Beautiful footage of your trip! What beautiful destination area! Thumbs up and greetings from Canada!
Thank you so much for your kind words 🤩🙏🚐 and welcome to Australia 😊
We have some catching up to do. The thing that amazes us is all that space in Australia. Big landscapes nd huge skies 😮👍🏻🚐💙 Trev n Sue
Thank you Trev and Sue 🤩🚐🙏true it’s massive , you don’t realise how big until you drive a 1000km and your still in the same state 🚐🤦♂️
great to see 2 videos a week, think the pools would be too hot for me too Sandy, I like it refreshing not hot. love your vids, cheers
Thank you June 🤩🚐🙏glad you like our idea and content 🤩
I’ll have to put this on my bucket list
Thank you 🤩🚐🙏it’s definitely worth a visit
First time I've heard Nindigully referred to as 'too rugged'. If anything, we find it too commercial. Having said that, it's still one of those bucket list places that you have to do.
We loved the place as well; great showers, and hospitality to be had at the local pub there. We enjoyed going into the loungeroom area, reading about all the colourful history. In fact the Nindergully Hotel is Queensland's oldest licensed pub. Nothing beats the atmosphere of old pubs, and we enjoyed speaking to lots of different travellers. We had our campsite by the river, which proved lovely and private. We loved the place, but I guess, each to their own!
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐yes it’s interesting to hear other people’s perspectives on places 😀I’d definitely recommend people visit nindigully pub for its charm and location 😊
@annejeremy752 thank you 🤩🙏we found that Nindigully pub had a unique charm about it , woven with so many interesting stories and interesting characters, we’d definitely recommend visiting there if you’re passing by 😊🚐
I left the shores of Aussie in early 98 to seek adventure OS and haven't returned........but I now find myself wanting to adventure Aussie in the so many places I have yet to venture.
Thank you for helping me imagine :)
Thank you for your kind words 🙏🤩and we’re so glad you enjoy travelling vicariously with us 😀
My daughter and her mob liked the place and the huge buger.
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐it’s a great place to visit , we would have loved to have tried the burger but it was too massive for just 2 people 😳
Hey, your channel is growing as it should be! On your way to many more subscribers. Your content is tops and your hard work is paying off. Congrats.
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐 we're so happy you're enjoying our journey!
"Rugged and OUTBACK". Better stay away from anything further West, or North! We camped there 3 nights. Both times. Some people turned up in a corolla!
Pub meals, toilets, showers and a dump pt! Free camp!
Hahn River crossing, Bungles, Renehans bore, Leichardt Falls, Mellish Park ...... some of those I would consider "rugged".
Please don't beat it up - you will deter people, and the bush needs all the support it can get.
At those prices keep it . The bush needs smarter people
Most outback pubs are charging up too 30.00 - 40.00 for a good steak, value cones down to portion sizes @Moxieman
Great video guys 😀 we would have had to move on our 2 dogs would have been a nightmare, caused a scene and would have had a pack of dogs at the door wanting a fight 😂❤❤
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐yes it’s the thought of the consequences of a feisty chihuahua versus an unknown pack of big off leash dogs without the owners in sight that made us feel uncomfortable 😳
Also my 4 kids went to Goodooga school we lived near Lightning Ridge.
Stayed a night there - loved the place.
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐it’s a great place to visit
Well done guys..great to meet you Sandy & Tim and hey, thanks for the comments on the van & the plug. Your van interior was impressive 👌🙌 great filming! Safe travels & hope to catch up somewhere next time 🙂
Thank you guys 🤩🚐🙏it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and your wonderful iveco home 😊safe travels to you also 😊🙏hope to bump into you again soon 😀
@@SandVan 💯 %
Thanks for sharing this legend of the trip …. Great seeing wild animals in their habitat ( I don’t mean the dogs 😂) - Jane would of been super cautious and not gone out the van
Will check that film out to
Thank you stu 🤩🚐🙏
You guys do a very professional job with the video.
Thank you so much, we appreciate that! 🙏🤩
Don't get in between the pub and the grey nomads when the happy hour bell rings!
Thank you 🤩🙏🚐lol true that 😂
Hi guys. If I’m honest I’d never heard of the film with Hugh Jackman in but I guess it’s better known in Australia. Nice to see you relaxing a bit Tim after all your driving buddy. And I agree that that place looked a bit dodgy lol. I’m glad you’re two videos a week.
Hope you are both well 😊👍
Thank you Roger 🤩🙏we’re doing well 😊it was nice to relax for a while in between huge drives 😀🚐
Good Day Tim and Sandy
Hello Alan 😊👏
it looked interesting
Thank you jonesy 🤩🙏it’s an interesting place 😀
My daughter and I love Nindigully pub my late husband would make excuses to stop there when he was droving in the 60s and one of my daughters was born in Dirranbandi hosp. Don't knock the bush.
Awesome share
Thank you Dave 🤩🙏
@@SandVan take care
The dogs are just local ''camp dogs''. The problem with them is that tourists feed them so they naturually hang around
Thank you 🤩🙏totally agree with you
It wasn’t a real cafe it was just a movie set I had a juke box and pool table in there for the move. At the time the mosquitoes were that bad carry away.
Thank you 🤩🚐🙏that’s fascinating to know 😊
In Australia non-potable water supply must be marked with signage or purple paint. The exact wording varies from state to state. But that being said, in our trip from Brisbane to Melbourne through central NSW, some of the water taps did not pass the taste test due to sulfur content, high mineral content and other dank smells. We were in a hire van. One day when I build our own, I'm thinking of installing separate tanks for drinking and general use, so that I can be fussier with what we fill the drinking water tank. What is your water setup?
Thank you Lynette 🤩🚐🙏Yes it's definitely important to have good quality water in the van, we've got a 84 litre tank , we fill up using an inline filter into our tank that takes out a majority of contaminants, this then can be used for cooking and cleaning , drinking water is supplied through another 2 stage filtration system running through a carbon filter and a heavy metals filter making the water drinkable without any problems😊🚐, periodically we sanitise the tank if it’s been standing a week or two if we jet off internationally or doing a house sit ,
I like your idea of two tanks but we’re limited on real estate for extra tanks under the van 🚐😊 definitely something we’d consider on our next build 🤩🚐
Unfortunately, there are a few places that are unsafe. Bourke, Brewarrina, Walgett, White Cliffs & Wilcannia. Always keep your van locked at all times. If possible camp well out of town.
Thank you 🤩🚐🙏yes there are some troubled locations around Australia, we have deadlocks on the van for just that reason 🚐😳
Yes not happy around stray dogs. We are after one of our own though.
Thank you David 🤩🙏
It's called mince
Sounds like you need to keep to the main cities and main towns... doesn't sound like you're up for travelling anywhere close to remote... 🤔
when I travel around the country, I wont be heading into the so called outback. Nothing but desert and rocks, cant see the point.
It Sounds like yr City People Would I be Right
Thank you 🤩yes we are but we’re learning outback ways and growing thicker skins 😀
yeah, pip is not dog friendly either. Strays cause issues:( Stay safe!
Thank you Ann 🤩🙏🚐you can’t be overly cautious when you have a small and feisty dog , especially when you don’t know the temperament of a strange dog let alone a small pack of them
Showers aren’t free ,they $2 donated to the flying doctors
Every town got it's problems
I believe the dogs were probably the local dogs, not strays. If there are aboriginal people they'll have dogs, its normal.
Thank you 🤩🙏yes we agree that was probably the case
Hi Pablo and humans
Hola Mike 🐕
🎉🎉🤗🤗💕💕🇿🇦🇿🇦🎥👍
Thank you 🤩🙏
Everyone knows the problem...no one's allowed to mention it. Countrywide problem.
Thank you 🤩 🙏yes
Unfortunately you can't control temperatures with mother nature. Poor dogs.
Thank you Deej 🤩🙏yep it can be a struggle sometimes in the heat
Outback Australia all of serial killers, be careful
Thank you 🤩
Wear a hat .

Thanks for sharing your experience! Glad to hear the camping area has been upgraded 😊we just got unlucky when we stayed there
Shame we missed the 25th anniversary celebrations
