I love painting on back surfaces with gouache and acrylics. I have tried color pencils once or twice before as well. Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions.
Omg this could not have come at a better time! I literally just bought a black paper sketchbook last week and was wondering what to paint 😂🙌🏼 Definitely going to try out some of these 🤩
Great stuff! I also reccomend everyone try other coloured papers, working thickly with gouache E or eon thinner/less watercolour appropriate papers. And trying makeup brushes which painting! Even cheap but decent quality dollar store brushes they are great! Also mixed media you can put coloured pencil on top of dried gouache!

Thank you for creating and posting it :) With regard to a sketchbook with black mixed media paper, Stillman & Birn Nova Trio Series Toned Softcover Sketchbook has beige, grey, and black paper. I haven't tried it myself, but the description states it's 150 gsm and can withstand light layered washes of wet media.
