You should NEVER touch ANY electrical connector with your finger. Our fingers are oily - and oil is a good insulator. If you accidentally touch a connector, clean it with 91% pure isopropyl alcohol and wipe it off with a clean, dry cloth. Steve S, Scientist-Engineer.

That's not necessary. It's for marine radios, already cut for the proper length. You can't cut them
