I like how Kohaku faints when Hisui's down compared to being frozen in shock like in old Melty lol

I’d prefer if she does one of each for each round tbh.. So you lose the first round frozen in shock, 2nd faints.

@@changsiah2 Out of context it sure can, but since it's actually half a sentence (a weirdly translated one) with knowledge it really doesn't sound that out of place on the moment that is said, I honestly think people took the meme waaay too far.
The full version is "People die when they are killed, that's the way it should be" and the way is phrased doesn't really work as well on english, "People should stay dead once killed/murdered" would be actually a more accurate translation.

@@Schiso13 It looks like there is a survival mode, like, an endless mode or whatever they named it.
Even then, I wouldn't argue that that's the key to whether it's the best fighting game or not: I play online for the thrills, although the NPC are tough as nails too.

funny considering even female Saber's original design concept dates back before Tsukihime or TypeMoon's formation according the artist himself and he also designed similar maid characters for even older doujins he made.

Oh my god, comboing from a counter like that was absolutely brilliant, what a showing 3:16 never thought youd be able to combo off a counter like that, absolutely big brain
The thing is... it aligned so perfectly. Kohaku is already in motion and Saber has to time her Avalon Arc Drive to get it right
Saber could have done 236BC and it would still work due to invul frames for the arc drive, but Avalon was a choice of pure swag.
Melty becoming the game where it becomes much easier to counter attacks given their shield mechanics but I'm enjoying how it plays a lot.
I think that's due to the game being the first official entry to be released with cross platform. But I'm not sure.
Pretty much the only downsides to shielding are:
1. Can't move from high to low or vice verse
2. Can't break out of a grab
Other than that, yeah pretty strong, especially since it gives back a good chunk of Moon meter. Seems like its designed to be used a lot.

This game has been amazing. I've been playing it loads. My main thought when I put it down was I wanted to read the visual novel. Tsukihime English please? If not, thank you so much for melty blood.
You can read the Tsukihime manga online. It only cover Arcueid route but it was still a really good read and even Nasu himself praised it.

I never learned how to use Avalon. All this time I thought it was a counter super....I still don't know how to use it, lol.
It’s a parry, simple
From what I've seen, it's easier to use for punishing people if they try to zone you with projectiles. You hit them back with Excaliblast.
iirc, it Avalon will counter throws as well lol
@@customerjohnson It counters pretty much anything. I just think it's easier when used against projectiles, lol. Kinda like a buffed version of shield.

This! I'm having a blast but it messes up my optimals half the time I'm becoming really tired trying to avoid it every single time. I'm at the point of stop giving a fuck and mash the buttons and do a weak 1.7k combo instead of going for a 3k - 4k...

@@seokkyunhong8812 I'd like to reliably go from jump B to stand B without accidently getting air throw. If I wanted air throw, I'd press the damn throw buttons.
@@seokkyunhong8812 I never ever mash. If you try to do 5A then 2A but missed the input of 2 by a nanosecond, the game automatically makes that a 5A again and begins the 2nd hit of the auto combo. After that no matter what button you press you get the 3rd hit of the auto combo and now you did a launcher and are in the air while all you were trying to do was a standing and crouching mix up.
It happens in air combos as well. When you do j.A -> j.B -> j.C and go for a jump cancel and j.A again to extend the air combo but miss your jump window, you will automatically do a throw because the game thinks that you did another j.A...
TL,DR; It's not that simple. Not even close.
Imagine experienced players whining about putting in effort to avoid mashing, when the auto system provides such a massive benefit to new players of 2D fighters. Take into account that new blood is necessary for the genre to surpass being relegated to a subculture within a subculture, and it's not really a discussion.
There are countless non-auto games (new and old); let this one be what French Bread clearly wanted it to be.

It has an advantage. First, the enemy doesn't know the lenght of the blade, making it harder to block. Second, it reveals Saber's identity.
