Hey if you want to hang out while I play games like this, consider following my twitch! www.twitch.tv/jarek4gamingdragon
You're a very intresting dragon looking lizard.
Space Marines aren't dumb, they're indoctrinated.. unless so than most in all fairness so as the bar for smart goes, they're fucking geniuses by comparison lol that is to say there is an unreliable narrator throughout 40k and.. clearly they're not as smart as they used to be.. But also because they don't need to be, at least in that way.
Orcs on the other hand, highly intelligent creatures... They know what they want, and their entire culture is dedicated to getting it.. and if you paint it red it'll go faster, let's not even get into purple.
I hope Boltgun will get a sequel or a spin-off where we get to play as a Space Marine from one of the Traitor Legions, like the Iron Warriors for example.
I'll take a game as the Lamenters where the situations will always go from bad to worse, either through weapon debuffs or enemy spawns or type modifiers. Although Night Lords stealth game would be interesting
Game absolutely needs couch co-op... And Deathmatch
"And Deathmatch"
Developers: We hear you! We will add Deatwatch! xD
You know, something about 40k, I will say this and its probably heresy, I think Warhammer rogue shooter can work, not as a human or space marine but as a tyranid for the rogue shooter aspect, embrace living weapons, select perks for completing a run that allows you to have an additional arm, said am can hold a weapon allowing dual wielding.
Forgive Me Father 2 and High on Life are kinda like that
What about our boyz, da orkz?
Or-- hell, in almost every fps 40k game, we've only been a single infantry unit type character, a space marine captain/ sternguard veteran, a terminator, an ex-sanctioned psyker, an ogryn, an imperial guard veteran, an ecclesiarchy priest or a necromunda bounty hunter.. but what about a first person shooter where you control a venerable dreadnought? Running around a battlefield álongside your battle brothers, dumping shells onto the hordes of the eldar with an assault clannon, turning a t'au battlesuit to a bubbling mess with a plasma cannon, busting into fortified positions with a heavy flamer or getting juiced up with increased armor and blasting anything that moves with a hurricane bolter as an ironclad dreadnought?
He.. he is the Chosen One!
@@fleshdadbot6852 I think a reason I said Tyranid is that I can easily imagine it gaining "additional mutations" like a bladed tail whip, or of course 4 arms to shoot several weapons at once, but upon death, you are the same nid but you have shit claws, however if you make it back to your dead body, you get all the upgrades, even a weapon upgrade.
As for Orks, you become a living mech or play in a style of Quake.
For Eldar, I cannot think of any, Tau, oh definitely, maybe you are supposed to operate a battlesuit, but shizzle does not work out so you have to scavenge, you just become an absolute mess.
@@JPDD2 Ok, I did forget about High on Life, but that is a game that is less, well lets say despite living and talk, they do not look practical, when I thought of like living weapons, I thought of htelikes such as Scorn and Prey 2006.
I beat Boltgun pretty recently and was elated to receive more in the form of this DLC! I bought it day 1 and beat it on the hardest difficulty in about 3 or 4 hours or something.
I pretty much loved it.
I wasnt expecting anything too grand, but it's a very cheap and reasonable price and a good length.
My only wish is that they added more tracks to the OST but ah well.
Also, yeah. That last fight is brutal haha. I consitently found myself dying because I'd run out of health and ammo pickups
You have a point - iirc GW was VERY stingy with their licences years ago and the side effect of that is Warcraft and Starcraft... why bother asking when you can make your own? Now they throw licences randomly around and sometimes it does stick well and create something good. But not always.
Which kinda saddense because we could miss some potential cult classics that were never made - by studios that no longer exist or are shadow of their former self.
Indeed
Who would have thought that a company that fanatically protects their IP would suddenly let anyone with the coin make a video game with it. I am not a fan of the tabletop game (thank goodness with how expensive a hobby it is), but I love the lore. I have read several books too. But video games is where this can truly shine. TBH, I loved Inquisition- Martyr (I am a sucker for Diablo style games), and tons of people play the Total War series. Dark Tide is doing great, and I really liked Hired Gun, even with all itsfkaws). Boltgun is great too and I was surprised that DLC had been released (I had no idea and downloaded it after I watched this video). I never played the O.G. Space Marine, but maybe I can rectify that before part 2 comes out. Hopefully, the trend of actually licensing good games continues.
Part of the problem are the consumers/players though. They are often intolerant and narrow-minded and have no qualms about constantly and frequently being wrong while conflating subjective enjoyment and ease of engagement with quality.
@@burningsheep4473 That does go both ways. You will see publishers cancel a series and even shut down studios over what they deem an "underperformance." Of course that is due mainly to fan reaction, but there have been notable franchises canceled over what a layman would consider a success. Look to the original Dead Space games. They were revolutionary in how they were perceived by fans, but the studio thought that there was more to squeeze out, so they interfered with the development of the sequels and then canceled the series outright... granted, we now have a remaster and who knows what the future holds, but it probably shouldn't have happened in the first place.
@@burningsheep4473 I like your screen name. At first I thought it said "burping" sheep...
Ah man, kitting fast units with multi-meltas as the marines was my go to anti tank when I played tabletop.
That came out far faster than anticipated!
That said, they need Orks and Eldar.
I’m still praying for a first person imperial guard game - one man with a lasgun and some nades taking part in massive set piece battles and getting appropriate upgrades and promotions as the campaign progresses. Not overpowered, not superhuman but a man with a lasgun - preferably one you can upgrade and make more powerful
Yeah the series is crazy when it comes to the Nerd stuff and they complain about it. Other than that stuff glad Boltgun gotten a dlc
I know nothing about warhammer but this game is old school fun. also space marine 2 looks good.
The complaining is what keeps things at a somewhat good standard.
Great video!
This game was awesome from the moment I played it. Hope they make a sequel with multiplayer and custom maps.
6:19 "You don't get unlimited ammo for it."
Oh, but I beg to differ. There's a glitch that's still present even after the day 1 patch where you can shoot it even with 0 ammo. Give it a try; it's dumb, lol
Thank you for covering this. I had no clue that DLC had been released and am downloading it now. Just want to say that I appreciate the content over the years and I hope that you have a marvelous day!
Same i didn't even know this was coming. Definitely gonna get this.
I'm very underwhelmed that they didn't put in another faction and it's still just chaos.
I was hoping for greenskins, at least. The possibilities are almost limitless with this franchise. At least the developer is still supporting it. We can all hope for either the next DLC or maybe a sequel expanding the enemy roster. The number of locations is another place they can expand....
True.
Ehhh you say that but chaos has a lot of leeway with visual creativity. As seen in boltguns level art direction
Plus we've already got a 40k Ork car derby game and a Tyranid horde hack and slash coming up anyways
Would have been cool to see Slaanesh demons in there too. Or Noise Marines.
@@tristanstebbens1358 Maybe my expectations were too high and unrealistic, but setting a game in this universe opens up the door to staggering enemy variety and I think it's a missed opportunity not to steer into that with this expansion.
Only 6 bucks as well. That's nice!
Really wanna play this, seems like a W dlc, rare nowadays
Now we need them to add orks and the tau to darktide 🤷
Did they update this wirh a compass or waypoint/map??
Yes
omg give it to us jarek daddy
I’ve played through this game twice, on hard then exterminatus. Some of the most fun I’ve had in long time. Boutta play this dlc now.
FOR THE EMPORER!!
If You ask me lenght was good, BUT amount of content kinda not - yes, 2 new guns, some new chaos marine units, but where are Khorne and Slaanesh daemons? Also these units, items etc. should be in base game. But still I recommend buying this DLC.
Not really I fan of Warhammer, but I might play this while I blast Realm Of Chaos with a giant bottle of Pepsi.
Would never have known this got DLC without this video
2 Am vid upload is kinda insane
He can just schedule it and go to bed you know?
Yeah but then we wouldn't be watching it rn
It's not 2 a.m. everywhere.
if you think about it that means your ass was up late too lmao
When you're incapable of grasping the concept of timezones
We need co op
This proves God is real
No, no it doesn't
More WH40K games need to make use of the Necrons. They were so fun to play in Dawn of War because they were SO DIFFERENT from all the other races! But I don't thinks we've seen them in a WH40K game since.
They were also in WH40K: Mechanicus and Gladius: Relics of war.
Oh I'm so happy with this expansion release, here's hoping it's all a set up for a Boltgun 2 sequel 🤞🙏 this games colossal fun
Me"Just finished this game today...was fun and had a blast.... didn't we Malum Caedo" Malum Caedo"yeah...can you please help me and get this hell brute body off me" me"oh right yeah.....(Trying to lift it)...gaaahh...its too heavy Mal" Malum Caedo"try harder...hurry..blood filling up in lungs..owww"
Unfortunately video games aren't on the priority list for Games workshop. Also the lore is like reading a book in a series. Think of it like this: "this goku guy is kinda cool I wonder how he got this cool." Or "I want more story(said after finishing DBZ)"
You should check out 40k darktide my personal favorite warhammer shooter/hack & slash
I'm aware of it, not quite my kind of game
@Jarekthegamingdragon I get that as much as I love the game, it can get very repetitive
ID and Arkane Lyon are only decent studios left imho.
Horde is great!!!be better with coop though
Speaking of gzdoom. Ashes hard reset was recently released. Plan on doing a video of it soon? Or the ashes series in general?
So I just started playing this game a little while ago and didn’t know about this. Does this mean we get this DLC and Boltgun 2 or is this what I thought Boltgun 2 is supposed to be?
"crack is cheaper (than WH40K figures)"
-Jarek
yeah, i agree on that assessment lmao
I didn't think I would like this game so much. Just love using the bolter in it.
Umm space Marines aren't dumb. They're very intelligent
I did not mean that the space marines themselves are dumb, just that the armor is so ridiculous that it's dumb and I love it. I didn't mean it negatively.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon oh haha that makes more sense
Ummm awctualee
Pls review blasphemous
Have you never watched this channel he reviews fps games. Also why blasphemous it came out ages ago just wanting a youtuber to validate your opinions.
@@ericharbour9254 bro idc i just want him to rage
Can you use the new DLC weapons in the main game? (I haven't gotten around to beating the game yet)
So is there an endless version to horde mode, or does is it only go to round 12? Cause I’m the dlc trailer I seen round 13, can you keep going?
My favourite 40k game is Chaos Gate. Didn't get into the first Space Marine game, but part 2 looks good. Boltgun is a lot fun and I look forward to more of it.
I think the lack of action games in 40k is twofold. Firstly is that Warhammer is, at its core, a strategy game built around commanding troops. While 40k has all manner of supplemental material such as lore and spin-off games, its focus has always been the tabletop game.
Second, Games Workshop, despite its dominance in the tabletop scene, is still only dominant in a fairly niche market when compared to, say, major video game or film studios. They can't throw around the finances to fund lots of big games, instead offering a license for enthusiastic developers to use. These developers are, as befitting the license, relatively small and niche, and thus the games they produce lean towards the strategy side of things. Strategy games don't rely as much on animation or high-fidelity graphics, which are key to action games. In short, the budgets just usually aren't there for action games.
That's why we fans were stunned to learn there was going to be a Space Marine 2. Relic was THE biggest developer 40k games had ever had, with the backing of THQ to fund them, and despite this, the first game was not a big success. If anyone was going to replicate the scope and fidelity of Space Marine, they needed to be a decently-sized studio with publisher backing, which we assumed would never happen again. We are very happy to be wrong, though, and hopefully Sabre Interactive can deliver.
Do the dlc changes affect the base game?
They NEED to scrap doing mobile strategy and RTS games and focus on Action/ shooters. Space Marine and Boltgun are awesome af but there are 1000’s of different routes and genres to follow!
Also Necromunda is good but janky
Boltgun was definitely very fun I’m glad it got some DLC.

You should check out Space Hulk Deathwing.
The graphics hurt my eyes
lil baby man eyes
@@Jarekthegamingdragon 😵💫
I don't understand why space marine on the 360 isn't remastered for series x since sm2 is out soon
Is there any point to replaying the vanilla game?
if you like blowing monsters apart like i do than yes
The biggest problem with 40k is its awesome IP who's core product is an absolute dog shit table top game and this is coming from someone who loves table games. I'll buy just about any other Warhammer product except the miniatures game
Saying its boom shooter and few seconds later saying it plays like doom 2016. Make up your mind.
Doom 2016 is literally a boomer shooter. Aesthetics do not define what a boomer shooter is.
Doom 2016 is a modern boomer shooter
