With all due respect, Batgirl probably would've been a mess, I'm not saying it deserved to get canceled but it shouldn't been placed after the Flash because it spoiled a lot of stuff before it came out and plus it wasn't like it was come out in theaters anyway but seriously, I feel bad for the cast and crew who put a lot of work into making the movie, only for the plug to get pulled however it's not like Leslie Grace got fired, they are planning to using her a in another project, just not in her own movie, at least for now.

Honestly Venom wasn't the sole problem. Dancing emo Peter, the soap opera amnesia subplot with Harry, the butler that could have saved years of heartache if he just told Harry the truth years earlier, and ending the film with Peter having to save MJ yet again during the climax are some other issues I had with the film. Remove Venom and it's still the weakest film in the trilogy.

A perfect candidate for this list would be the Last Airbender film. The studio forced the director to use more well known actors instead of using actors that fit the ethnicity of the original source material and they took away things (like jokes) that would have made it appeal more to the target audience (and to fans of the cartoon)

The original two-sequel "on Earth" concept of _Alien3_ would've been *incredible* but bad scripts, bad ideas (David Twohy), the writers strike, the end of the Cold War, even worse ideas (Vincent Ward), & Fox pushing a release date completely f***ed it up. David Zaslav made the ABSOLUTE RIGHT DECISION in axing Bat Girl. And here's the myriad of reasons why.
    1. No one was asking for Bat Girl.
    2. The movie not only tested horribly with audiences but several Execs thought it was absolute garbage.
    3. No one, and I mean NO ONE, was signing up for HBO Max for this movie.
    4. End of the day, they made the right financial decision because they got more money from tax write offs than they would have by releasing theatrical (not to mention the added marketing costs to the existing budget) or by gaining new subscribers via streaming.
    5. Lastly, if DC is EVER going to get their shit together, it takes a David Zaslav to have the balls to say NO, WE WILL NOT CONTINUE TO PUT OUT DOG SHIT QUALITY MOVIES! It's what DC has needed for the last decade.

St. Zaslov killed it so it did not completely devalue the entire DC universe. Supergirl was killed at the same time but was not as far into production but it also killed off superman leaving supergirl as the only kyrptonian in the DCU. His choices on batgirl were write it off for 100 mil and burn the negatives or release it and make 60 milllion only to have it do 2 billion dollars of damage to the concept of DC comics.

The Batgirl cancellation was a smart move cuz the test audience said the movie was boring beyond belief so it probably would’ve been a financial failure if it made it to theaters and plus there was a ton of woke stuff in it which people are getting sick of which adds to the possibility of it failing at the box office.

That's what i think too. Maybe it really sucked so much that it would've killed off the DC universe. Being woke is fine and all but only if it works and makes sense within the movie. The actors were mostly British, which helped make the acting level much higher, but the script killing off Newt and Hicks started the movie off with a massive sour note. It made it seem that all the crap Ripley, Newt and Hicks endured was for absolutely nothing. I understand about Newt since the actor had grown up, but simply killing the characters off seemed like lazy writing. But the real issue I had personally was the CGI. I know it was very much in its infancy at that time, but if the studio hadn’t been so cheap, and hired a company that was really good at CGI like Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) it would have looked fantastic. With proper CGI Alien 3 could have been a decent movie. My opinion of course. But the actors all did a great job.

Cancelling Batgirl wasn't bad decision, it was a cutting loss decision. They had made so many bad decisions with the DCEU movie, and based on evidence and fan-ratings and the plans for the movie, they realized that the movie would cost them to lose even more fans and chase them away, which would hurt future projects. So they decided to scrap what would likely be a major flop to save money in the long run and be able to do a Batgirl movie right in the future.

The obvious choice for introducing dark universe should've been Frankenstein and not the mummy because franky would've set the tone. People were expecting a version of the mummy like the Brendan Frasier trilogy. Plus Tom cruise was a poor choice in my opinion.

Alien 3 has an interesting backstory. The studio rented alot of studio space in England and had a specific filming and release date. The studio had a few scripts to choose from. There was a script where Ripley lands on a planet thats inhabitant by monks that doesn't use any technology. Then there's the William Gibsons script, which showed Ripley,Hicks and Newt fighting the aliens on a big space station.

That’s it,” and how “The objective is to grow the DC brand, to grow the DC characters, but also our job is to protect the DC brand, and that’s what we’re going to do.” gives me some hope for the future DC movies. Let's face it something had to change in how DC movies were being done because far too much of the current stuff just wasn't working (to put it lightly). Now I just have to wait and see if those hopes will be realized or if it will just end in disappointment.

I don't think it's true Disney didn't have a plan. I think things easily could have skyrocketed in quality after Force Awakens. Its my opinion that Rian Johnson came in with fanatical ideas and the words to back them up, he swooned the wide eyed and eager Kathleen Kennedy into an artsy and mysterious take on Star Wars, and the plans they did have were thrown completely out the window once Rian started drawing up his ideas. He just swindled the whole room. When it blew up in their face, Disney had nothing they could do but damage control, and that's exactly what Rise of Skywalker is.

Ryan was a dagger hired to assassinate luke skywalker nothing more, his nefarious actions were Krazy Kathies idea and intention all along. Johnson was specifically hired because he told Krazy Kathy he didn't like starwars movies.
Since Kathy doesn't like star wars movies either she was trying to turn the Star Wars universe from the story of Luke Skywalker into the story of Leia Skywalker. Mostly I would imagine to punish Spielberg and Lucas who always politely told her to stop interrupting the talented people with stupid ideas and go seduce another old rich man into writing a check to cover the special effects.

@@zacritner208 Sorry skip but I am dead on balls accurate with this one. The official policy on Kathleen Kennedy from Lucas and Speilberg their entire lives has been "She is horrible at taking notes, and very good at interrupting people by proposing bad ideas."
She hit the ground running at lucas film by firing half of the writers(all males) and she hired females who did not know anything about , or like starwars in the slightest, then she put pictures of luke skywalker up with the Don't symbol(circle and slash like the ghost busters logo) over his face. Then she had custom "The Force Is Female" t-shirts printed up, and fired another 25% of the qualified males working at lucas film and replaced them with more non starwars fan females fresh out of college.
Then she hired Ruin Johnson a man who hates starwars to do the second movie of a three movie trilogy, and the first thing he did was destroy everything that was supposed to survive to the third movie, and freelanced all sorts of stupidness that made no sense in the star wars universe because he never bothered to watch any of it and he was hired to destroy the concept of star wars for the old fans so the IP of Star Wars could be reengineered into a disney princess franchise with UberREY and her ovaries of justice. Lets not forget Vice Admiral Purple Hair Gender Studies Lecture who hated all her male subordinates because they were men and could not be trusted to even know what the plan was.

That is why she puts so little effort into the projects she helms, since she gathered the money for the movies stephen and george made and they literally laughed at every idea she came up with she feels the only part of making a movie that matters is how much you spend on it.
Which is why each movie she is in charge of costs twice as much and is twice as vacuous as the previous one. She thinks success comes from spending more money, because she doesn't understand what george and stephen did with that money was what made the movies great, not the ammount spent.

-He's been labeled as the worst director of all time, and it all shows in his films. Can no one stop this man?!
    *Overcorrecting - Various DC Films
-After Batman Returns got flak for being too dark, Warner Bros went far too much in the opposite direction for Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, causing the latter to be ripped apart. So they went back to dark for The Dark Knight Trilogy, only to go too dark AGAIN for Batman v Superman. It's like they don't know how to balance out it's own tone scale. One extreme can be just as bad as the other.
*Several Controversial Creative Decisions - The Last Airbender
-This film basically did everything wrong. From it's casting, writing, acting, and even directing. Shyamalan's fingerprints sullied this project and his career wouldn't recover until the release of "The Visit" and "Split." ...Only for his career to take another nosedive with "Old."
