Hi Gilbert your explanation is perfect hope this will come out in my skills/ exam. Is it okay to say ambu bag instead of saying bag valve mask? I know it's a silly question but just to make sure as it's easier to pronounce when you just say "ambu bag" . In OSCE marking criteria " bag valve mask" is the one mentioned and it's quite difficult for me to say specially while I'm performing the initial compression are they just the same?😂

Carotid pulse checking was removed by European resuscitation guidelines since long time. Also many of us will not be able to locate carotid pulse in emergency. Also in OSCE marking criteria carotid pulse checking isn’t required. Hope this helps
