Lovely, natural review. Love the connection you have with that instrument. I came here looking for information on John Hullah who used to build for Fylde.
Beautiful instrument John, you deserve it. I've got a couple of Fylde's, Gordon Giltrap's old nylon string classical and a brand new custom steel string Roger has just made for me - both fabulous instruments. Anyone out there looking for a great acoustic guitar checkout Fylde you won't be dissappointed.
That's an interesting trick on the Elixirs. I like the way Elixirs last, and I like the feel of them, but I find them weedy compared to traditional strings, in tone. I don't know how nano the coating is, but I assume they measure the gauge after the coating and if you buy 13s your really getting closer to 12s. Dunno - sounds that way to9 me. So your solution is very interesting and sounded great on my PC.

Pity he didn't actually play it so we could hear what it sounded like.
I still say Lowden acoustics are the best
Based on what? Unless you're a Lowden salesman of course.
Based on just my opinion
Fylde and Lowden are two guitars with great personality. Some others british brands guitars too, Atkin, Kinkade.
