    been ordering from aliexpress for 4 years now and always got what i ordered and they were exactly as described..the trick is to order from the ones that have reviews from customers,, and allways read the description..plus its cheaper than wish or bangood and the shipping is mostly free

      pinkbutt gerbil agreed. I never buy anything without reviews (especially photo reviews so I can see what it looks like). That’s also the reason why I post photo reviews myself, for others to see what they’ll get. And I keep my expectations low, so I know what to expect. If I see a cute phone case I’ll keep in mind that the quality might be crap or if I buy an adapter it might not work.

    The watercolor block is actually a brand that is very popular among Chinese art students due to its affordable price.

    • @Zoibu
      @Zoibu 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Oh that's pretty neat to hear! Have you ever used it?

    • @sherrycous
      @sherrycous 6 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      @Zoibu yes, I did. I like to think probably everyone who does watercolors in China had used it at least once. I even saw it twice in Laovaan's (A german artist) videos because someone gifted it to him.

    I am definitely an Aliexpress addict, for both watercolors and scrapbooking supplies. While I've never tried the brushes, I have been purchasing different obscure brands of watercolors to play with and so far I've been pretty satisfied with everything I got.

    I like AliExpress, but I stopped buying stickers and stationery from there, because A LOT of it has been stolen from illustrators and cheaply reproduced which makes me so sad. But I will be looking into the brushes (not the animal haired ones, because I can't stand working with the tail of a little critter). The synthetic one looks awesome!

    I get stuff from Aliexpress from time to time! Hard to resist the prices! I've tried a few Art Secret brushes and that Baohong watercolor block. I'm very happy with almost everything I've tried :)

    • @sunflower-bp6np
      @sunflower-bp6np 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MilenaB. do you get any extra custom charges on stationary?

    • @ademiboya
      @ademiboya 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sunflower-bp6np Yea, I'm curious about that too. I just discovered Aliexpress but I dunno if they charge customs or tax or import duties or whatnot.
      Edit- I bought some art products on Aliexpress a few months ago, and i don't know where you're living but they should tell you the full price when you buy them. Mine just charges tax and sometimes shipping fee. Most art supplies should be fine to buy, especially if they're a popular brand or sell well/has lots of reviews. I was rlly nervous b/c if was one of my first time buying online and on that website but my products came and they were pretty good quality.

    the brushes at around 5:30 by are actually a Korean brand and a really popular dupe among Chinese artists due to its relatively cheap price point,,, Aliexpress listings tend to be a lot more expensive internationally than they are sold within China too (on a site named Taobao mostly)

  • @MiaVox
    @MiaVox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    While I was working for a local Vape company I did a lot of purchasing with Aliexpress (starting back in 2014) and I was curious what else was sold on there....everything. lol. Don't be afraid to contact sellers, a lot of the time they are willing to make a better deal than what is offered and are very friendly. I've purchased a bit of everything from Ali and haven't had a bad experience. Not recommended for impatient people or people that do not take the time to fully read the listings. Looks like you got a nice haul over all. I have added that yellow covered paper to my try list. Thank you for sharing this!

    I have a lot of experience with AliExpress, ha ha ha haaaaa yup.
    Karijn introduced me to it and it's been super helpful to save money on many things and find great supplies for making paints. Seems like you grabbed great items over there, thanks for sharing :)

    There is a Deli branded sharpener you can get on Amazon that looks like an old camera. It's very inexpensive and similar to the one you got in function, but much sturdier. I have had mine for five years and it works like a dream.

    I love these more casual videos, the intro is cute, your setup is always fairly neat, and one thing I noticed was that you do a good amount of talking? Sounds weird but you fill in the silent parts with talking or little sounds and it makes it more enjoyable to watch (also cute when you leave little clips of the kiddo talking). There are a lot of other people's videos where they don't talk enough and don't add music so it somehow makes it a little awkward and a little boring? Idk, tl;dr I love casual videos!!!

    I bought my Huion tablet from Aliexpress for around 40$ I don' remember the exact price :), I'm using it for over 6 years now, I love it so much, and I'm drawing with it all the time. I've also bought sakura products, mainly brushes and gelly rolls. Also glitters for my traditional illustrations. I've bought a samsung smartphone clone as well for around 50$, and it worked better than the original samsung :), and it still works great, although it's 5 years old. It's worth to look around the site, you don't know what you'll find. Just stick with sellers and products with good reviews. I must look for the stamp now.

    I don't know if you got an Aldi where you are and if they make the same weekly offerings as they do in Germany, but when they offer office or back to school supplies they usually do have those tabletop crank sharpeners, too. And they usually only cost like 4 € and work just fine :3

    I love Aliexpress for washi tape and other supplies personally, I also bought some cosplays and wigs in the past. So far I received every single item I ordered there and compared to Wish the reviews seem a lot more trustworthy. Also the prices of items don't magically quadruple once they're added to the cart as they like to do on Wish lol.

  • @q8asami

    I have been ordering from them for 6 months now, i like how shipping is cheap and tracked and usually i buy products that are properly reviewed. I bought some oil paint brush cleaner, plastic palettes and some brushes, all work extremely well. And i just received 2 sketchbooks and they are absolutely amazing! Oh and i also bought alcohol markers!! Amazing deals and they are pretty great quality. Without aliexpress im doomed, on other sites any shipping would cost me 37$ even if the package is under 1kg so i cant just buy anything, also without a tracking number the shipment is lost for sure in my country!

  • @StaceyHH
    @StaceyHH 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Yeah, don't take the plastic and wire off your hair brush. That's what makes it a quill, and holds the brush together. The synthetic one is wire-wrapped for looks only. I've bought squirrel hair quill brushes (20RQ) from the same shop (Artsecret Official,) and been really happy with them.
    I have one "sable" travel quill from a different AliExp shop, and don't find it nearly as good. The weasel hair in mine is for sure real, but of really low quality. But it was like $6.
    I also buy all of my washi tape on that site, and my Traveler's Journal stuff.
    I've only had one bad-faith order, product never sent, seller wouldn't respond. So now I make sure to order from shops that have lots of sales, and have been around for awhile.

      I'm not sure if you care about this, but just so you know to get squirrel hair they trap wild squirrels and kill them. They can't be domesticated and sheared like bigger animals. There's even videos online of Chinese manufacturers ripping the skin and fur off rabbits while they are still alive and screaming, so not to damage the fur. China doesn't yet have good animal practices.

    I find that AliExpress is a bit hit and miss. The water brushes are super cheap and pretty decent in comparison to the more expensive brands. I've also purchased a nice set of water resistant fine liners, Jinhao pen ink, and loads of stickers. I even got some Winsor and Newton gouache (but looking back, it was probably their student grade stuff and likely expired).
    However, I've also ordered things and have had them never come in, even though they were from reputable sellers. Customer service tends to be good, at least.

Do you catch my drift here???? Not everything is as bad as some people make it out to be.. just a thought
