Hello Sergeant Masibay, I just want to say thank you for your videos ("APFT Training", "Do's and Don'ts", and "What to Bring to Basic Training and What to Buy When you Arrive!" videos especially) as they have helped me get ready for Basic Training. I leave in a week to Fort Benning for the U.S. Army and without your videos, I would have been lost. My parents are supportive of my choices for my career in the Army, even my MOS choice. Infantry. Even though they were very alarmed after I told them what the job is and what it requires after I chose it at MEPS. I was offered a better job in the technical/computer science field and I love computer science, but I'm not someone who likes to sit still (except when in Drill & Ceremony) or stay in a chair all day, everyday. I also want to join the Army and Infantry especially because I seek Adventure, Experience, and Traveling. I know Infantry will and can be a back-breaking job and I'll have some bad days, but who says I wont have some good days? Gotta' embrace the suck to live the suck. At least I'll be bumped up to E-2 due to my JROTC Service and Tenure. Anyways, thanks again, Sergeant. Hooah
ARCHIEzzle hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for armed forces qualification test score try Jaffacter Asvab Results Coach ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my buddy got great success with it.
lmao the way you were sitting and looking around, i thought u were gonna say "okay we are at the bleachers and there is alot of people making out right now."
Man you are one fast runner! Ive really liked watching your videos my recruiter never explained anything if he had been this good id be in right now. Thanks for doing theese.
SGT, I like your attitude, approach to Army and your even temperament. You are a credit to the AMEDD. Keep it honest, and keep it up. AATW! MAJ Metcalf PA-C
ALWAYS DUCK DOWN WHEN RUNNING UPHILL!!! it'll help your momentum. Also for every one sit up, count one sit up as one when bringing your right elbow over you're left knee, then a normal sit up, then take you're left elbow over you're right knee and that's one sit up. equalize your core. focus on it, then repeat.
It's better for it to be windy than super hot especially in Texas sgt. Good job on the workout I haven't done those workouts since high school and it would be nice to get back into those kinds of workouts. It's hard for me right now to do the push-ups because of shoulder injuries guess just work at little at a time.
I Have an 18x contract and i ship on the 14th of november this year 2016 to Fort Benning , any other things you would recommend i do? i appreciate you putting out the content you do and taking the time to help everyone, stay strong brother.
Hey brother, I sent you a pm on our old convo from about a month ago -- I took a short hiatus because of life, but i'm back! I've got the skype recorder working well and am game to film this week if you're still up to it!
oh shit,,,bro,,,they gonna make a video of you!!!!!!!!!!!!a game video ,,,all the way,,,everyday,,,feel good ,,everyday,,,you know the rest troop,,again,,,god bless you and yours !!!!!!!!!!!!!and,,,,old schoool my brother ,,,but,,we really do more than most people by 500am,,,HOOAH!!!!!!!!!!! ARMY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Sgt. I'm 19 years old & yesterday I did a 2 mile run with a little bit of jog & speed walk, it was 15:28. Do you know the time for 2 mile run if so, did I beat it?
Now it depends. Have you been through Basic yet? The Basic Training's standard time for you is 16:36 to get up to 50 points in that event. Once you get into AIT and your future unit, then you should strive for the 15:54 for getting 60 points in the event, and those times are within the age group of 17-21.
+Mammonocalypse I haven't gone to basic & not even taking the real ASVAB test. I'm still living in US but I'm still willing to make myself healthier & smarter so I can join the U.S. ARMY.
Archie! I got a Q for you- If I wanted to join the Army (which I do, and plan on doing) what would be the best option for me if I wanted to get my masters degree and be enlisted at the same time? How hard is it to do college while active duty vs. reserves and what are the differences between active/ reserve and the tuition assistance/ benefits of each? (Sorry I know that was a lot of q's and a lot of info..) thank you,-B.
yooo archie i did see a recruiter monday he told me to study n get ready for asvab n im also usin your trainin on pt vid to help clear my lungs n body of mary jane he gave me til may 10
do you have any tips for a girl to pass her fitness goals?I am always 1 or 2 curl ups short I do my best in that area. When I begin to get tired of push ups I wait a few seconds and quit
Hello. I was watching your video to see how the army is so I'll know what to expect when I go for Basic. And I'm really nervous wen it come to the workout. What can I do to be prepared?
Hey Sgt. Masibay I am 26 years old and am trying to get my self into shape to join the Army. At present I weight 260 pounds and a recruiter I spoke too told me he can't do anything for me untill I weigh 170ish pounds. Do you have any tips on how to get the weight off fast?
Okayy so I have a slight problem, sit ups for me easy pass, but I honestly have no clue how I would be able to pass the push ups. I can do like 20 at most on a good day and my right angles aren't the best at all, any tips on how to prepare? Also running might be hell I'm like a minute over. Before you started were you already kind of in range or did you have to prepare a lot too? If you did please send help lol
Every morning stretch do about 15, and how ever many sit ups. On your training days try to push that 15 to 25 and that 25 to 50 and so on. Thats how i learned at least lol. Not in the army yet. I was a fat out of shaped kid in wrestling so this is what i did. Im out of shape now tho. since i graduated highschool
Are PT test, specifically running, always done on tracks. I live out in the country and i feel like I can run forever at a good pace. I have ran on a track multiple times, but it's so boring and I don't feel like I move as fast with as much energy.
hey archie so im 29 and I have been improving on my pushups. went from 61 to 76 now im at 84 in 2 minutes. will I be looked at by my drill sergeants as average?
Ha! Looking for some compliments expect your drill sergeants to not give a shit what you can do. They are going to tell at you regardless. The more push ups you can do the more you will do.
Your sit ups are at the correct level, although you'll have to work A LOT on your push ups and running. Since you're running 10 kmph, try to boost that to 15 and hold that for about 2,7 km and you'll be on a good level.
shit I'm of shape like hardcore I've been hitting the gym lately even doing some cardio but its bad not horrible but if you wanted to join the military not good. I hit 34 in July tried to join in my late teens early 20s but didn't work out then chronic health problems started in 2004 so yeah pisses me off. but still trying to think Amry is 35 cutoff maybe even though I'm not in you guys are brothers and sisters if my ass was in shape top notch I'd have your side shit I'd be there regardless, not too fond of this imperialist tyrannical globalist shit I believe in the Constitution defending our nation and helping others not profiteering for the elites murdering innocent people and taking their resources. I do believe there is real threats that need to be dealt with in a Ricky-Tick fashion. I also believe with we go into a war we need a peace plan in action. Leviathan/ SysAdmin set up working together. I also think our government needs to be straight up with us. Be safe God bless
run. don't go for time, just go for distance. run as long as you can for a steady pace. that and breathing right are the only way to up your enurance. it helps me to sing cadences. took me about a year to get to three miles from 0.
Andre Ford push your self to your limits, to the point were your out of breath and feel like throwing up do it everytime and you will see improvement. youre body will adapt but only if it needs to what i mean by that dont go easy on yourself or you wont progress. you have to want it.
Andre Ford My advice is the same as the first guy. My first day of cross country practice in 7th grade, my coach has us run nonstop for 2vhours. It was hell. But it's great. I'm a senior now and I can probably run 2-3 hours without stopping without too much effort. Just gotta keep with it and run every day of you don't have a huge amount of time before you have to qualify

Great workout video! Getting creative w/ it! I like it!- will you teach us how to run properly and how to treat shin splints?
You have to ice and massage/ roll the muscles around the shins... I ran track and cross and had to deal with that a lot lol
I've been looking for a video like this for a while thank you!!
you are welcome Hannah
I'm leaving basic in a couple and I'm dreading the running. I was out of breath for this kid like 10 seconds into his run.
Thanks Ben Dun I'm going to BMT a lot sooner than a year so I guess I gotta suck it up and get to work thanks for the advice
Dang Archie, that Darth Vader breathing was intense.
lol
I could do that ,I'm getting into the army here soon,n I don't think that's too bad,I do most if those workouts at football practice
I Have an 18x contract and i ship on the 14th of november this year 2016 to Fort Benning , any other things you would recommend i do? i appreciate you putting out the content you do and taking the time to help everyone, stay strong brother.

good work out man :}
Hey Sgt. I'm 19 years old & yesterday I did a 2 mile run with a little bit of jog & speed walk, it was 15:28. Do you know the time for 2 mile run if so, did I beat it?
barelly
+King REMY do you know?
It is 15:54.

Dude, my basketball team in middle school needs to run at least 1.5 miles every practice
great workout. as a guy leaving in 2 weeks for basic, what're the PT push up and sit up requirements
depends on your age, but usually its around 35-45 pushups and 40-55 sit ups and run 2 miles anywhere from 15-16 mins and you should be good
I'll see you in another life Brotha.
Brady Wassam I know it's been 10 months but this comment just hit me in the lost feels
Brady Wassam omg i was thinking about desmond while watching
DUDE, thank you so much!

Any workout to prep you for the duckwalk in meps?
I dont mind the stamina based stuff. I already run an 11 minuet 2 mile. Its the push ups that mostly get me.
Corbin Kelter just gotta do them every day. do as many as you can every chance you get. and you'll get good at them

do you have any tips for a girl to pass her fitness goals?I am always 1 or 2 curl ups short I do my best in that area. When I begin to get tired of push ups I wait a few seconds and quit
Hello. I was watching your video to see how the army is so I'll know what to expect when I go for Basic. And I'm really nervous wen it come to the workout. What can I do to be prepared?
lmao for ROTC my company and I were running on wet bleachers, and a cadet about 3 people in front of me slipped and busted his teeth open on a step

lol yes it is
Hey Sgt. Masibay I am 26 years old and am trying to get my self into shape to join the Army. At present I weight 260 pounds and a recruiter I spoke too told me he can't do anything for me untill I weigh 170ish pounds. Do you have any tips on how to get the weight off fast?
Cut down on your carb intake, get rid of extra sugar, do more cardio work outs instead of weights.
Okayy so I have a slight problem, sit ups for me easy pass, but I honestly have no clue how I would be able to pass the push ups. I can do like 20 at most on a good day and my right angles aren't the best at all, any tips on how to prepare? Also running might be hell I'm like a minute over. how do you do sit ups without lifting your feet up. I tend to lift my feet up when I dont have any support to hold my foot down.
I just got used to it I guess
I just cram my foot underneath something heavy.
Hey are you still at FT. Hood? I need to drop 4% more body fat before I can join and would be cool for help
Are PT test, specifically running, always done on tracks. I live out in the country and i feel like I can run forever at a good pace. I have ran on a track multiple times, but it's so boring and I don't feel like I move as fast with as much energy.
It depends on what the designated location is on every unit
What if you have (severe, recurrent) depression on your medical records but you don't suffer from it anymore. For over a year and a half to 2 years?
Your good man just dont say anything about it to your recruiter or on any paperwork deny everything
who wouldn't want to look at you? haha jk archie and great video
those half pushups lol
hey archie so im 29 and I have been improving on my pushups. went from 61 to 76 now im at 84 in 2 minutes. will I be looked at by my drill sergeants as average?
Ha! Looking for some compliments expect your drill sergeants to not give a shit what you can do. They are going to tell at you regardless. The more push ups you can do the more you will do.
how many weeks do u do training for
Any tips to prepare for basic got less than a month to prepare
Is it possible to join the army as someone who used to self harm??
did they offer the future soldier program at your recruiting station
Yes but I did not really do it
LOL I can only do 8 push ups, 60 sit ups, run 1 km in 6 mins,. Can I make it? XD
Haha probably but be prepared or a major kick in the ass when you go to bct.
Your sit ups are at the correct level, although you'll have to work A LOT on your push ups and running. Since you're running 10 kmph, try to boost that to 15 and hold that for about 2,7 km and you'll be on a good level.
JF Cheers, dude!
8 push ups?
1 mile ...feels good ,,,,2 miles,,all good ,,3 miles god help me,,,,4 miles ,,ok ,,what did i do?
Do u have to do the 2mile run WITHOUT stopping??
You wild
How do you do it.. Every time I try that workout, I have to lift my feet/legs up. Do I just need to practice doing it more? @ 3:00
Also is there a track team? That would be amazing :3
I can do planks for 5 minutes straight though
sounds like you're using your legs more for sit-ups if you're lifting your feet. I have the same problem.
Your legs probably don't weigh enough. Try cramming your feet under something heavy.
Beast
oh ya what about medication?
How old are you if don't mind me asking
How many minutes have to run in two miles?
Depends on age and gender. I have a link in the description for the chart
8 laps around that track bro I rather do two laps 2mile run man
On the actual test does someone hold your feet?
xViperGaming yes on regular pt tests a battle will hold your feet
Im 14 going onto the 9th grade i want to oin the army when i get older do u thing its the right time to start doing this type of training
You got a long ways to go before joining. Although it's never to early. Don't over or under exercise don't stunt your growth. Good luck friend
I be real, APFT is easy. The real challenge is height and weight.
how many tabs do you have
Wheres the pt belt
lol haha you are correct
sorry phone sucks but you know what i mean
How many mins per lap?
Running up steps is a bad idea in terms of injury potential. I've run at least 3 miles per day for the past 33 yrs (no, the "33" is not a typo).
Well that was exhausting
First
hooah

duh they love prior service members. as long as your discharge was honorable
ok thanks. im getting out soon. just want a more physical service
I'm a week or two away from shipping and starting my 6x2. Can't wait to see what military life has in store for me
As of this week. This test is no longer a requirement.
OSU Bucks421 - where did you get this information
yibes my recruiter.
OSU Bucks421 - just looked into it, you should too google "army opat"
yibes why would I google it? I was about to do this test. Then my recruiter said I don't have to anymore.
yibes this is only one of two tests. You still have to do the other one.
If I can do 50 push ups in less than one minute and 60 sit-ups in two minutes and run 2 miles in 15 minutes can I pass the APFT?
MIimo Reii yes, for 17-21 year olds it's 42 push-ups in 2 minutes, 53 sit-ups in 2 minutes , and 2 mile run in 15:54 or less
U gotta swim too?
you do not have to
2 miles???
thank god im not in the army
oh shit in the hood?
How can we get our stamina up to be able to do 8 laps that will kill me !!!
run. don't go for time, just go for distance. run as long as you can for a steady pace. that and breathing right are the only way to up your enurance. it helps me to sing cadences. took me about a year to get to three miles from 0.
