I don't think that sounds like a 1JZ. That's a much higher pitched motor. I believe the firing order is different as well. Also this car seems to be getting a reputation for unpredictable and twitchy handling; That's not really a Toyota thing; I'd argue it's not a good thing in general.
@@hamsterbrigade We can agree to disagree regarding the sound. However the twitchy handling was done by design. The SW20 MR2 was also quite a scary car to drive too, and the GR Supra channels some of that energy except it's nowhere near as unpredictable.
@@hamsterbrigadethe unpredictable handling is a ridiculous comment.. I have a ton of track time in my car and "unpredictable" is not a word i would use.
Ryan was not only a phenomenal driver, he was also a very good track instructor who taught me to push my Supra to the limits. Happy to see his car being showcased.
@@755hp nope... not in sales at all. You do understand their are tons of jobs out there that make north of 100k and don't involve sales or medical lmao.
@@755hp It's also annoying people crying about not being able to do shit- When they go out and drink- go on $$ vacations- Eat out- Not saying you do any of that- But if you make 60k+ you can easily have a supra- and can easily build it out. Need to review your monthly bills and see what you can shed off.
Interesting commentary on the VANOS. I've had the same issue so I'm replacing both central bolts and actuators. It went from being a rare thing to being very repeatable on clockwise tracks. Good luck fixing it too!
You're not wrong haha, we originally designed those when the vast majority of our videos were Japanese cars, but we could certainly add some more Z06 and American V8s to the mix. Thanks for looking :D
It's either or tbh. Just like the mark 2, mark 3,mark 4 that's said either or but saying mk4,mk3,mk5 is just easier and shorter and partially being that that's just the way that people mostly adapted to calling it.
I love the Supra but that car will never be in the same zip code as GT3 RS. Keep in mind a GT3 RS only has 400 whp and 300 lb ft of torque. It generates speed via chassis balance. Throwing power at this car is not a legitimate example of a 911 GT RS killer…
B58 uses both Vanos (variable valve timing) and Valvetronic (variable valve lift) both systems have been used by BMW for a while now, and are implemented on the B58 as well
@andrewsmith5198 it's not lol , it's my father's car it's currently at my shop getting more work done for next season, as of now it's safe and sound lol.
Gosh dang this gives off pure JDM car vibes. This sounds just like a 1JZ. Toyota knocked it outta the park with the GR Supra.

Thanks Arrio. Was a fun day!
Can't wait to track against Ryan when my HPA VR550T is all buttoned up next track season 🏁
Plugging the DI and going full time port injection will make tuning the fuel much more simple. Many shops have done this for years now.
It’s sad how no one has money for modding cars like this anymore (inflation).
Speak for yourself... I work hard and I am currently building mine out.

Just replaced bolts and actuators. Hopefully it’s fixed

b58 very nice i like 👍🏼
Amen.
Go daddy Ryan!
I swear until you appeared on screen. I thought this was some kind of game footage. This thing looks sick. 🤑
Sick as always
THA SHOEPRA
Do you happen to know what type of fenders are on the car?
I’m based in the Okanagan and looking for a shop to add a turbo and tune my MK5. Any suggestions?

Verus Engineering
why does this supra shift so slowly? theres a delay between the pedal clicking and the gears changing
they arent dual clutch
I was checking the Engine Code key tags on your store and I think you are missing a lot of American V8s. I'll buy an LS7 tag if I see one.
