From everyone in the community, I just want to say a huge thank you for everything that you do. I have been watching your channel for years now. I know you put a lot of time and effort into your videos again huge thank you so much for what you do. I love your stuff.
Killer amp. I have 20 heads, and this one always surprises guest guitarists. The high gain distortion is a complex and rich tone, with the Recto bite that we love.
The EQ at the beginning and end of the chain is genius. It cleans up the sound and REALLY tightens it up. Low pass filter at the beginning of the chain and then reapplying the bass and highs again works incredibly well.
Love my Single Recto. Your original video pushed me to finally track one down. Thanks again! I use a little less Gain and Presence than you, but also use a MXR GT-OD (OUTPUT 100%, Tone 50%, Gain 0%) in front. Our B-M-T settings are almost exactly the same, though.👍🏻🤘🏻
I just purchased a red seven reactive load in the United States for a ridiculous price!! Can’t wait to try the amps in my collection, and see how they sound!! Makes me feel lucky to even have one, living in the US 😊
I had one of these Single Recs over 12 years ago and I do not remember ever getting it to sound like that! Not sure if something was wrong it or not. I much preferred my Peavey XXX so I sold the Mesa.
I really wish you could give me setting recommendations for my Mesa Boogie Roadster 2x12 Combo . . . You always seem to get the best tones out of everything and I've been struggling with my Mesa. I love it! But I just can't get the right stuff out of it.
ooh, I noticed an X-LOAD which I love and have many, but the R7 AC has been my preference given the advanced feature set. Do you recall the massive amp review you did many years ago? It was that review that got me started with the Boogie. Anyway, you can never do too many Mesa reviews. Thanks!
There any tonality differences between Single Rectifier vs. Rectoverb 50 besides added reverb?? Don’t know which one to get. I’m looking for Cannibal Corpse tone at low volumes.
What tubes in this beast? I have a series2 and settled on some str-420 coke-bottles like what was in most of the original single rectifiers like this one.
@@WholeLottaBulldogSo here's all the Rectifier based models from the POD XT/X3/Farm era: 1. 2001 Diamond Plate: Based on Channel 3 of 2001 Triple Rectifier. 2. 2001 Treadplate Dual: Based on Channel 3 of the Dual Rectifier. 3. Line 6 Treadplate: Based on the original POD and POD 2.0's Rectifier-style model. So the Line 6 Treadplate is the only one that seems like it could be a Single Rectifier.
Question. I noticed that you have the output knob at 0 in the recto videos. How do you manage to do that. I have to set mine at 8 oclock just barely turned up.
i have version 2 and a mate has version 1. version 2 a little warmer in mids and less top end, version 1 more in your face. both sound great, especially together, tonal separation enough to let each sit in their own sonic place live even. version 2 has better clean/pushed channel 1.
Rectos are very sensitive to right hand tighness...i saw people sounding awesome, while others sounds like crap, even using the same settings, cab, boost, etc.

Funny how for long as 20 years the interwebz genius talked bad about the single recto. Yet only those who had them knew how superb they are.
Sold one of these 4 years ago and was a terrible decision. Had it covered in snakeskin tolex it was so cool
Still kickin it with my single rec ~ looking into QC also ✌️

The Recto does have THAT tone that I can't help but love. It is my favourite

Had a single rec, never should have sold it! Sounded better than my Dual!!!

I will never not have a geq in the effects Loop of my amps
I had one of these and had it modded to EL34s. Made a massive difference in the tubby bass. Great video!
I really like that you included the cam mic audio! I think its really important and i hope to see you do it more in the future. ❤
Jon, I'm so glad you did this amp using engl cab! Played one through a similar setup and was surprised about the sound so much! So good
Killer sounds man , great to hear some mic on cab ! Your bass sound is hardcore , great mix as always !
Awesome video! I still have much love for the Rectifier heads, still my go to in every modeler.

Sounds amazing!!!
Love how the cam mic couldn't handle the low end

Amazing sound ! Waiting for ENGL packs

The R7 is the GOAT. I still use the Fractal sometimes because of convenience
I just put new el34s in mine. Still kills after 22 years!
Holy shit I need this tone ..
Sounds tight

Great vid as usual! ✨✨✨🤘
Sweet!! Hoping for the same package with ENGL :)
Awesome, please make a pack for the Tonex and I'll buy it!
I have my Dual Rectifier in my Heavy Legends Tonex bundle... fwiw
@@SonicDriveStudio +1 on the request, the 3 channel Recto sounds badass, I have both of Heavy Legends, but we definitely need Volume 3 🤘🔥
Volume 3 for Tonex please, Jon. Xo@@SonicDriveStudio
@@SonicDriveStudio But I want the "meanest" haha! Thank you
Sounds nasty in a good way! Great clip!
I love mesa!
What tubes in this beast? I have a series2 and settled on some str-420 coke-bottles like what was in most of the original single rectifiers like this one.
Any chance you'll ever do a NAM pack?
No plans...
Can't monetize it, forget it 😂😂
Love that Mesa Fuzzy, Mesa Boozzy sound! Digital profiles sounds a little bit harshy on highs or it is just me? anyway it sounds awesome!
I don't hear that harshness? What are you listening on?
@@SonicDriveStudio Yamaha HS8i, that harshness isnt bad, it is good and natural
Are these riff all yours? Seriously awesome stuff!
Could you tonex this amp too pretty please with a cherry on top?
Single Rectifier was modelled in early Line6 stuff
What was it called?
@@SonicDriveStudio can't recall but it the software came with the Line6 mobile in iPad interface. Sounded pretty good at the time.

Hello, which is the cortex cloud user that you have to follow and be able to buy the captures?
Thanks

Sick.
Will these work with tonex too or just QC?
Maybe you and Mike could do a collab .. SDS Single Rectifier Plugin .. i’m so serious .. this would be so kick ass.
Mike?
What about tonex??
Could you compare this version of single recto with the next version (v.2)?
I don't have the other one
i have version 2 and a mate has version 1. version 2 a little warmer in mids and less top end, version 1 more in your face. both sound great, especially together, tonal separation enough to let each sit in their own sonic place live even. version 2 has better clean/pushed channel 1.
If you modeled this amp .. and made it a plugin, i would buy it 5 times.
I already modeled it ;)
Are you do profiles for tonex?
You should put 4:26 into a song sometime
Recto's are like Les Paul's... love the way they sound when other people are playing them, but they sound like crap in my hands.
Rectos are very sensitive to right hand tighness...i saw people sounding awesome, while others sounds like crap, even using the same settings, cab, boost, etc.
Sausage fest!
Do they still make and sell this amplifier ?
No
