Atreus is literally the last giant (as far as they know) and since the beginning of the game, he said he's been having dreams and bad feelings about what's coming soon. He's having premonitions of the war and ragnarok, plus all of the shrines he's visited and all of its secret messages shows what needs to be done to win the war. If I were them, I would listen to Atreus more. They might evade the war now, but if they don't act accordingly, the war is going to come to their doorstep regardless. Kratos is acting like Faye's words in that dream didn't mean anything, when she was specifically telling him to act

However, I imagine the larger issue for Kratos and Tyr is the contents. Atreus, by trying to follow the prophecy, is advocating for genocide as the solution. The ONLY solution. He won't consider another option besides the prophecy. Meanwhile, Tyr and Kratos want to look for another way, looking to avoid war (and genocide), which isn't surprising coming from to war laden gods. In the story of the game, is Atreus "right"? Yeah, sure. But looking at the entire context before this? No, not at all. Edit - Another point, towards Tyr specifically. Not only does he want to avoid war, justifiably so, he's not just being asked to join. A "random" child is asking him to lead the armies and win the battle that will inevitably end up with a realm destroyed, if the prophecy is to be believed. Why would he want to listen? The frozen lightning was caused by the Leviathan Axe and Mjolnir clashing, as the axe was made to match the hammer. Clearly it's doing its part well, freezing Thor's thunder in a truly AWESOME spectacle.
It’s also an Yggdrasil branch splinter. That’s why Thor thought it seemed familiar, from his battle with Jormunganddr when reality broke and the splinter broke through Midgard.
I mean the germophobia was explained in the last game about being told about germs. But this story DOES further explain why he hates being touched. It's more than just for germaphobic reasons. It's also trauma...tho most phobias come from trauma...

But I think the brilliance here is that companion characters keep carrying on conversation while you go off looking. Yes, they comment on it, but it’s not always the focus - it just makes it feel natural and like they’re genuinely enjoying banter because they’re *characters* and not paper cutouts standing around.
Not gonna lie I was pissed that it happened at such a core scene for Tyr and wasn't restarted but oh well, devs will probably patch things like this later on
I love how when he thinks he hears his dead wife in the light, they show all the wrinkles and lines in his face. He looks so old in that scene. Like he's getting far too old and just wants to rest, just wants to be with her. And I love every second of it.

I was gonna say, it was hilarious how he just gave up on the elevator puzzle in Alfheim, but it was also driving me nuts that the line was literally changing color to indicate that he was good to throw the axe. Plus it even locks on to let you know that you've got the right angle, and he even points it out. Still was funny to watch though

I think that Mjölnir colliding mid air with Kratos' axe froze that bolt of lightning in the environment. It's a really cool reminder of that first fight looming in the distance.
In the part where Kratos is about to touch the light and Atreus stops him, the lighting on his face does a REALLY good job of making Kratos look weathered and old
The arm bit left me in tears. The scene is so serious and then there's Kratos, just waltzing into it with his bugged arm, waiting for the axe that is already on his back. Comedic gold.

i love Kratos's and Mimir's relationship. when they sat at the table, Kratos made sure Mimir was facing everyone and even patted him on the head. Their evolution from the first game is so touching, especially when Kratos called him brother at some point in one of the other episodes. i think it's sweet that Kratos is, in a way, softening up, and being kinder and more understanding to everyone, and i feel like both Atreaus and Mimir had a really big part in that.

actually that's a really nice historical touch, before the days of the Enlightenment, people used knives the same way we use forks now. He’s standing next to two gods of war, both telling him that war is never black and white. “IS there a right side?” Is probably the most significant question to ask when going to war, and the fact that Tyr AND Kratos acknowledge it after their lifetimes of violence is true wisdom. I thoroughly enjoy this aspect of the game so far. Atreus is becoming a man, and he’s going to face difficult things. War being one of them. I’m reminded of the adage “putting an old head on young shoulders”, and can see it here. Love it
Me too. If you see Mimir as a kind of allegory for disability, then Kratos being quietly considerate of his comfort and including him in activities is showing how to be a good ally. Mimir isn’t resented for what he can’t do, he’s valued for what he can, and no family dinner would be complete without him!
Seeing Kratos at the light of Alfheim, I got teary-eyed. Despite knowing what happened to him before, he almost went into the light again cuz he heard his wife. And that look he had and the tone of his voice when Atreus said she's gone, that was heart breaking.

I love the detail of Tyr easily grappling with one of the elves. Even though he has sworn off violence, he's still a god of war, specifically the good/honorable parts of war, so it makes sense for hime to have pretty high strength and good combat skills

Mimir and Kratos have come a long way in their friendship. i love Kratos's and Mimir's relationship. when they sat at the table, Kratos made sure Mimir was facing everyone and even patted him on the head. Their evolution from the first game is so touching, especially when Kratos called him brother at some point in one of the other episodes. i think it's sweet that Kratos is, in a way, softening up, and being kinder and more understanding to everyone, and i feel like both Atreaus and Mimir had a really big part in that.

I love the detail of Tyr easily grappling with one of the elves. Even though he has sworn off violence, he's still a god of war, specifically the good/honorable parts of war, so it makes sense for hime to have pretty high strength and good combat skills
What's really blowing my mind is the fact that Kratos not only keeps a journal, but also says "thank you"!!

Mimir and Kratos have come a long way in their friendship. It's nice to see the subtle things Kratos does with Mimir's head like turning it around at the breakfast table 9:35 so Mimir can see everyone. Old Kratos probably wouldn't even bother and just leave him somewhere hanging and staring at a wall.
I also like how at home he has a cushion to sit on, a book stand and a page turner.
I think the reason why the lightning is frozen is because kratos’ axe freezes things and mjolnir electrifies things. When you put those together … Frozen Lightning!
