Is it me or has Chris Meloni's acting gotten even better?? He was always so good, but when Finn tells him about Olivia having a son ... for Elliot there's this combination of happiness for her, jealousy, competition with the potential father, and a sense of being left out all wrapped into one, and he tries to hide it all by taking a big swig of his drink. It's so well done -- you can see all the layers.
I was thinking the same thing! He also makes a gesture over his heart like "Ouch! She's had life milestones without me."

MH was still childbearing age (as unlikely as a pregnancy was) when she adopted Noah, so for all Elliot knows, she got pregnant and gave birth.

It’s crazy how much Elliot doesn’t know. All of Olivia’s defining moments were after Elliot was gone. I’d even say that Amanda Rollins know Liv better than Elliot does right now.
He didn't call or write for 10 years of course he's not gonna know what's going on with her...
If Elliott doesn't leave, Olivia doesn't become the Super Woman champion of SUV. Stabler was the first "Hank Voit" He dominated everything and Olivia was his ride or die chick. The beauty now is when Stabler tried to go old school on the interrogation, Olivia stepped to him as to let him know This is my house now and I'm not that chick no more!
@@umbba49 that’s...true. Last time Stabler knew her, Olivia was a bottom of the ladder, female detective in a man’s world. Now she runs the whole show and has two other women in her squad. She’s been through hell, and she didn’t need him to make it out alive. Things aren’t the same as they used to be. Their connection isn’t gone, but Olivia is so much more than she was 10 years ago.

Ha! Funny. 😂. Although, I don’t think he’d be as totally shocked hearing about Cassidy as he would with Tucker. He knew about her one night fling with Cassidy back in the day. I don’t remember him and Cassidy ever having any issues. He and Tucker, on the other hand, did not get along at all. They clashed on more than one occasion. It’ll be interesting to see how he reacts when he finds out about her dating Tucker.

That gesture he grabs his heart there after he finds out Olivia has a son and thinks she has a baby daddy. The way he clenched his heart. Like his heart was broken. Wow. Amazing scene there. And he was smiling thru his sadness. He really loves Olivia.
As much as I want him to know about Tucker, I really want to see his reaction when he learns about Lewis. Although I feel that they’re going to save that conversation for much later.
If he found out it was Tucker he would be like um wtf , I mean she had Brian as well. They were good together

Considering they were always platonic I find it interesting that Fin uses the phrase ‘moved on’ then talks about Noah. The word choice for me is just so telling about how other people saw stabler and benson
Elliot and Olivia are in love with each other. They never acted on it but it's been clear since practically the beginning.
When Amanda and Carisi are together in a room and Fin and Olivia are talking outside. Olivia says something like what are they doing.
And Fin answers : that's what we were saying about you and Stabler...
@@PittsburghSportsFan43 just because you and a bunch of ship fans think that doesn't mean they were "in love" since the beginning as you claim, which is a false claim, Stabler and Benson undoubtedly were close friends and loved each other(platonically early on), but Stabler undoubtably loved his wife and family and would never betray her, even when he separated from her, Liv helped him get back with her and even supported Kathy too. Now things changed because Kathy is gone and Stabler might think of her that way but hes been gone for years from NY.
@@AladeenMusic Chris has stated before in interviews that Stabler romantically loved Benson. They made it a point from the very first season. With indirect kisses, moments of jealousy, and Benson always stating you're married/with kids right after these moments. Example: the juice scene and him gazing at her right before they get in the car. It was a line they didn't cross and one that Benson was scared to.
I thought he meant it as she didn’t want another partner for awhile cause it took a long time for her to show positivity towards Amaro. She showed resistance towards the idea of having to get used to riding with someone difference. I don’t think love got a thing to do with it lol
It's a nice and weird feeling to see Elliot, Olivia and Fin find each other, it tastes like "where we were" ten years is a long, huge life span. Each of them has grown, aged with all that life entails. It was really touching this episode. Especially for those who have followed SVU since the beginning.

This was a real moment between two men that were catching up. A realistic and believable moment. I loved it
I like how Elliot was a little jealous when Fin talked about Liv’s relationships.
Olivia had to find out from Cragen that elliot left and it hurt her. And this one Elliot had to find out from Fin that Olivia has a son and it hurt him. This is a whole mess and I can't wait for things to unfold.
Fyi notice how fin said she had a solid relationship but he didn't tell him who it was but we all know it was tucker. She and tucker were good together. So the dude who had a solid relationship with Olivia was Tucker and we all know elliot and him didn't like each other. Lol

It was obvious fin knew elliot and Olivia were always in love with each other. He knows what's up. That's why he said that part. Fin loves Olivia like a brother loves his sister and he's very protective over olivia so him by saying that wanting to hurt elliot and make him jealous like elliot did olivia when he left her all those years and never called her back or nothing. I love fin and olivia's relationship.

We always knew there was an edge to Elliot and Liv's relationship but this confirmed it. I don't think they ever moved on. I love how Finn was happily trying to help them both. This was a great reunion.
I'm really glad they had a scene like this! They could've glazed over the elephant in the room but having Finn tell Eliot that Liv has basically had a whole life without him around gives the situation gravity. I also like how Finn tiptoed around the bullet points. Yeah she's had relationships: a conflict of interest, a former enemy, a former coworker, and a complicated connection to a former ADA we all know and love. Not to mention a twisted ongoing "relationship" with a psycho. There's a lot to tell. Personally I think the solid relationship is Cassidy but even if it's Tucker, that truth would shock Eliot. Plus I love that "who's the guy?" can be referring to either her "solid" relationship or who her son's father is. That's another long story! Liv has gone through a lot in the last 10 years and Eliot doesn't have a clue about any of it.
I think Elliot was assuming the "solid" relationship resulted in Noah.

They always say that Benson and Stabler will not end up together but then they highlight moments like these where it obviously shows their relationship is much more than platonic. It's almost like the two of them just have horrible timing more than anything else.

Nothing like putting your life in another person's hands everyday and knowing that they got you and you got them and you will give your blood and breath for them and them for you. Ride together they would die together. Stabler and Benson is what a loving friendship and relationship 💖 should be. Hope they never sleep together. Why ruin a great thing
Benson and Stabler are a wonderful example of men and women cooperating in the work place. They work together and respect each other enough not to cross the line.
Mulder and Scully had crazy chemistry but look how badly it went when they got together. Don’t do that to Benson and Stabler. Besides L&O was never about their personal relationships.
@@sleepinggorilla they said OC will deal with relationships. Svu was also dealing with relationships, Amanda and Carisi met on this show, but of course, they are not the original main characters. Benson and Stabler that's the big deal.
Elliot is a lil jealousy too. He don't want Olivia talking to anybody.
As flawed as he is, I'm certain he doesn't care who she talks to.
@@sensen1080 Elliot never liked anyone Olivia dated. Cassidy...the newspaper reporter Nick Ganzner...the FBI agent Dean Porter Olivia didn't date but flirted with. He seemed a tad jealous when he asked Fin who the father of Noah is. He looked at them weird when they ran off sledding together. I think Wykeisha is onto something about Elliot not wanting Olivia talking to anyone...

@@JamaicanRain Yeah they were but Cassidy didn't press the same buttons that Tucker did dragging him into IAB investigations potentially threatening his job. His response to Tucker and Liv being together would be more emotive.
@@Rheinmeister09 Also it's none of his business. The way Elliot asked was like, "is it someone I know", because Fin could have lied and said, no one you know, but he wanted it to be Olivia's decision
Christopher Meloni is such an amazing actor even when he's not saying a thing. When Fin mentioned Liv's son you can see how Stabler's eyes changed to be almost sad-like while his face remained the same.
He had a really sad look on his face when he asked who was the guy and Fin replied that he had to ask her himself. He was jealous. He turn to his cup of coffee he drunk and you could see how uncomfortable he felt by that knowledge. He never stopped loving her.
I always like the dynamic between these two. Fin tells Elliott just enough to let Elliot know life carried on. At the same time he doesn't bust Elliott's chops for leaving.
Because he actually understand why Elliot left. I love that fin is still there because he is the only one who understands Bensler and won't make Olivia feel bad for giving Elliot another chance. He is also the only one who knows the real benson and stabler.

I am SO happy Finn is engaged to Phoebe. I sure hope we get to see them together again. Its about time Finn falls in love!

My teenage heart broke 10 years ago when Stabler left and my Bensler ship never got to sail and I finally got over it and then Barba came into the picture and reminded me so much of the Olivia and Elliot dynamic w/o the obstacles of a wife and kids and just when I started to think they would become cannon, Barba left 😩. Now Barba and Stabler both come back in the new season, Wtf are SVU writers doing to me?!

I think it’s very telling that out of all the things Finn says about Liv, Elliot’s question is ‘who’s the guy?. Whether they will ever act on it or not, that’s not just ‘platonic’
This was a good catch up and get together between Finn and Elliot. I love it I absolutely love it. And after 10 years too while Finn and Elliot have worked side by side together for 11 years

Fin catching up with a former peer and friend. Yet, being very loyal to his boss and friend … by not giving too much information away - _business and personal_ - about Olivia.
It's weird listening to Elliot. It's been so long. His voice changed.
The other day I was (re)watching an old episode from earlier seasons and then I watched these newer clips and even Olivia's voice has changed too. They sound deeper now, I guess. Fin, sound the same to me.

I can't decide if Kathy insisting they go to Liv's ceremony was a sign of trust, or a sadistic manipulation.
Manipulation. She wanted Liv to see that she and Elliot were still a solid couple. What she wrote in the letter showed her intent to make sure ties between Liv and Elliot were cut. She didn't believe Elliot when he told her that he hadn't spoken to Liv at all during the whole 10 years.

Circumstances changed. Elliot s wife is dead. His children are adults now. Olivia has a little kid looking for a strong father figure, and now she outrank him so thats fine by me if they built a family

Fin doesn't get nearly enough appreciation. Elliots trying to get some information and Fin keeps it vague enough that Liv can decide if she wants to fill in the blanks or not. He keeps the ball firmly in her court. And then he goes back to Liv and tells her what he told him that might come up. He may not have been around since season 1 (though I think he was in the last episode of season 1, could be wrong though) but man that bond runs deep.
I dont care what other say Fin is an OG even if he debuted in Season 2, hes been with the crew since the Cragen, Munch, Liv and Stabler years to being a Sargent backing Liv being a captain now
Once Elliott and Olivia finally reconcile -- and kiss and make up -- which may take the entire run of Organized Crime, they would want to grab the biggest bottle of brown liquor, break out the ice and glasses and have a real, no-holds-bar grown folks conversation.
It would be so cool to witness when Olivia tells Elliott about her ordeal with Lewis. Please writers put that in either show!😨😱😵😎💛⚡👊

Truthfully Fin has been "the guy" in Liv's life for the last ten years since Elliot up and left the team. He's become her right hand man in the SVU squad and I would argue her best friend as well.
Fin and Liv's relationship is strictly platonic, but one which runs deep and is built on trust and respect on both sides. These two have a close bond.
On the flipside, Elliot and Fin have a long history if somewhat more turbulent. There is a mutual respect and appreciation but there is also friction (which Elliot brought about that did do damage to their working and personal relationship).
Still, they do consider each other friends so in many ways, Fin is the middle ground between Liv and Elliot.
Fin you can say is like Liv's older brother
This show was never the same when Stabler was no longer part of it. Hard to watch it after 12 seasons of him being such a powerhouse.
Yes Olivia is great, but even her carrying the show wasn’t enough.
